CEM MARSXpress Disposable Liner Operating instructions

  • Hello! I've reviewed the MARSXpress Disposable Liner instructions, which details how to preform the liners using specific tools and how to handle them during the digestion process. I understand these liners are for MARSXpress 55 mL and 75 mL vessels and have temperature and time limits. I'm ready to answer your questions about the content.
  • What is the maximum temperature for using these liners?
What is the maximum recommended run time?

MARSXpress Disposable Liners are to be used in MARSXpress 55 mL and 75 mL vessels for
applications where the temperature does not exceed 180 °C and total run time is less
than 30 minutes.
Preforming the Liner
It is important to preform the opening of the disposable liner to ensure proper fit and sealing
of the plug and cap. These instructions are for use of 55 mL and 75 mL disposable Teflon®
liners in MARSXpress vessels. In addition to the disposable liners you will need the Flaring
Tool and Insertion Tool.
1. Take one liner and place the open end over the tip of the Flaring Tool.

5. Remove the Insertion Tool and turn it around. Use the flared end to enlarge and smooth the
preformed liner.
6. Add sample and acid to liner, ensuring all sample is washed to the bottom of the liner by the acid.
7. Place the plug into the liner, ensuring it fits completely into disposable liner.

Note: An antistatic ionizer is very useful to make certain samples go to the bottom of the liner and not
stick to the sides.
Disposal of Liner
1. Upon completion of digestion remove vessel from turntable.
2. Remove cap and plug from vessel.
3. Pour digestate into analysis container.
4. Remove disposable liner from vessel and discard.
5. Vessel is now ready to accept a new liner (it is not necessary to wash vessel between runs).
