10GbE APPROVED SWITCH GUIDE
The Blustream IP500UHD Multicast SDVoE Video over IP system is not necessarily limited to working with one specific
brand of switch, but can be used with many different network switch brands on the market. Blustream have tested and
approved the below range of differing models / brands of switches for dedicated single-switch SDVoE video over IP
systems.
Should the system require multiple switches to be linked or stacked, either because of total port density, or due to
excessive link distance, please contact a member of the Blustream Technical Support team during the specification of
your system for guidance.
TESTED & APPROVED SWITCHES
Netgear M4300 (10Gb) Series
(please note that Netgear do have 1GbE switches in the M4300 range - these are not compatible with
the 10GbE requirement for SDVoE products)
although Blustream have tested the suitability of the switches listed above, we cannot guarantee that changes to
switch firmware, or custom configurations of these products will not adversely affect the IP500UHD Multicast products performance
If selecting a switch not specifically listed above, the following features are required for the IP500UHD Multicast system
to work seamlessly within a single switch system:
10GbE Managed; Multicasting capabilities; IGMP Snooping / IGMP Querier; Immediate / Fast Leave; QoS (Quality
of Service); Jumbo Frames / Jumbo Packets / MTU
PoE+ may also be required from the switch to provide power to the IP500UHD-TZ Multicast products. PSU’s are not
supplied as standard with Blustream Multicast units. Details of the required set-up and configuration of the above noted
switches are available to download from the Blustream website. Alternatively, please contact a member of the Blustream
