ThecombinedFishfinder/Chartplotterdevices areintended forrecreational
fishfinding and coursechartplotting.Theoptionalchartplotter function is
intendedasanaidto navigation andshouldnotbe reliedupon as asubstitute
for official navigation charts.

TFT LCD Displays
Thecolorsof the display may seem tovarywhen viewed againsta colored
backgroundorincoloredlight.Thisisa perfectlynormaleffectthatwillbe
seenwithallcolorLCD displays.
IncommonwithallThinFilmTransistor(TFT)LCDdisplays,thescreenmay
exhibitafew(lessthan20)wrongly illuminatedpixels. Thesemayappearas
blackpixelsinalightportionofthescreen,or as coloredpixelsin blackareas.
CAUTION:
Toprovideprotection againstthedamagingeffectsofUVlight,it is
advisabletoreplacethesuncoverprovidedwhenthecolorLCDdisplayis
notinuse.

• Depth/tempgraph(Fishfindermode):Thisshows a plotwatertempera-
tureanddepthagainsttime.
• Data(Fishfindermode):Thisoptionsplits thefishfinder vertically. The
lefthandwindowdisplays databoxes;therearethreedifferentsetsofdata
(A,B and C)thatyoucan selectfor display.
• CDI:This givestheCourseDeviationIndicator graphicaldisplay,with
datarelatingtothetargetwaypoint.
• BDI:ThisgivestheBearingandDistanceIndicatorgraphicaldisplay,with
datarelatingtothetargetwaypoint.
• NavData(Chart mode):Thisshowssixteendataboxes,providingnavi-
gationaldata intheunitsspecifiedin your set up. Note that up to6ofthese
databoxesarealsoavailableasa user-selectable group(see Section 7.3).

Note:MARPA functionalityisavailableonthefishfinderdisplayifyou have

1.2 The Fishfinder Display
Whenyou first turn the display unitonand selectfishfindermode,the
scrolling bottom graphisdisplayed.Thisisa graphicalrepresentation of the
echoesseenbytheFishfinder.Astimepasses,thisdisplayscrollsfromrightto
leftandbecomesa record of theechoesseen.A typicaldisplayisshownin
Figure 1-2.
Theimagesat the right handside ofthe display arethemost recentechoes.
Someechoesindicatefish,andothersshowthe bottom.It canalsoindicate
bottomstructures,such as areefor shipwreck. The upperandlowerdepth
rangelimitsareshown.
Thefishfinderscreenincludesa statusbarthatdisplaystransducer frequency
andindicates whichautosettingsareenabled(Gain,ColorGain,Range,
ZoomandFrequency),and alarmstatus(fishand shallow/deepwaterdepths).
Youcan customizethe fishfinderbychoosingwhat is displayed andhowit is
displayed(including language andunits).For example,you can setthescroll
speedofthebottomgraphdisplay,andyou can selecttherangetoadjustthe
amountofdetaildisplayed.
Youcanviewthecursor positionandavariety ofdata(suchasspeed,heading
anddepth)fromthetransducerandotherequipmentinuser-selectabledata
boxes.Thesedataboxescanbe movedaroundthescreenandthey canbe
switched on or off.
