Preparing Your Photos for Printing
The first step in getting your Polaroid Photo Frame String Lightboxes ready for use is to print
your photos onto Polaroid Backlit Film (two sheets are included). Visit
http://www.polaroidlightboxes.com/ for assistance in uploading, resizing, and adjusting your
photos for printing.
Preparing Your Inkjet Printer
NOTE: Polaroid Inkjet Printable Backlit Film works with any inkjet printer, including home
oce inkjet printers. Other types of printers, including laser printers, should not be used with
Polaroid Backlit Film.
1. We highly recommend that you print a test page using 8.5x11" standard printer paper
first to make sure you know the correct orientation to insert the Polaroid Backlit Film
into your inkjet printer, as described in the next step.
Mark an 'X' or some other identifying mark on a sheet of standard blank printer paper and
insert it into your color inkjet printer. Print the page of photos (or any other one-page file of
your choice) onto that test page to see which side of that paper your printer prints on. This
will show you how to insert the backlit film into your printer the correct way. At this time,
you should also make sure that your inkjet printer has enough ink for quality printing. Once
you have determined which side of the paper your printer prints onto and that your inkjet
printer has enough ink, insert a sheet of Backlit Film into your printer with the glossy (shiny)
side AWAY from the side to be printed onto. THE CORRECT SIDE TO BE PRINTED ON IS
THE MATTE (DULL) SIDE.
2. With the Backlit Film inserted into your printer correctly (the Backlit Film sheets have only a
distinct front and back; the top and bottom are the same), you are ready to print.
3. Cut apart photos and select the ones to place into each Photo Frame String Lightbox. Make
sure the top of your image is nearest to one of the two power ports.
Installing Photos into Your Lightboxes
1. Only Polaroid Backlit Film should be used in Polaroid Photo Frame String Lightboxes.
2. Make sure Photo Frame String Lightboxes are disconnected from the power source.
3. Turn the four corner tabs outward away from the Backing Plate.
4. Remove the Backing Plate from the frame.
5. Sandwich your photo (on Backlit Film) between the two acrylic panels provided within
the frame.
6. Re-install acrylic sheets with the photo in between facing outward. The top of the image
should be nearest to the power port.
5
7. Place the Backing Plate back into the frame and turn the four corner tabs inward so they
hold the Backing Plate in place.
8. Check to make sure each photo is aligned properly after assembling.
Connecting and Illuminating Your Photo Frame
String Lightboxes
Connect each prepared Photo Frame String Lightbox to the Power
Harness. Make sure to use the provided D-rings located on the
backing plates to hang the individual frames in order to avoid
unwanted separation from the wiring harness.
1. Note that you can connect each frame in either a horizontal or
vertical orientation so that your photos can be viewed properly.
2. Connect the Power Harness to the Pigtail Connector on the Battery
Pack. Note that you must use the Battery Pack at all times even
when using AC power, since the Remote Control's infrared sensor
and control circuitry is inside the Battery Pack case.*
3. Insert the round end of the AC Adapter into the jack on the side of
the Battery Pack and plug the AC Adapter into an electrical outlet.
4. Press the On/O Button on the Remote Control* or on the Battery Pack to power on the
Polaroid Photo Frame String Lightboxes.
5. Other Remote Control* functions are Brightness (press + or - to adjust to each of four
levels), Flash Mode (press the blue Flash Mode Button to select slow fade, fast fade, or
steady on), and Timer Mode (press the Timer Button to activate the auto power o timer;
frames will operate six hours on and then 18 hours o. When the Timer is activated, a green
LED behind the infrared sensor window will illuminate on top of the Battery Pack.)
6. You can connect multiple Power Harnesses in parallel by attaching the male end of one
Power Harness to the female end of another. You can connect up to five Power
Harnesses together.
*When using the Remote Control, make sure to point directly at the Battery Pack’s infrared
sensor receiver and that the receiver is uncovered and unobstructed. Use the Remote Control
within a reasonable range of the Battery Pack.
Care and Maintenance
To clean the clear acrylic sheets within the frame, follow the instructions below.
1. Make sure Photo Frame String Lightboxes are disconnected from the power source.
2. Remove the Backing Plate from the Photo Frame String Lightbox that you want to clean.
3. Remove the two acrylic sheets and the Backlit Film (if applicable). If Backlit Film is present,
remove and set aside in a safe place.
4. Holding around the edges, gently clean the acrylic sheets on both sides with a damp cloth.
Use a dry cloth if needed to remove any moisture or water spots.
5. Once acrylic sheets are completely dry, sandwich the Backlit Film in between them and
reinstall into frame and secure Backing Plate. Then reconnect to the power harness and
then your power source.
Polaroid Photo Frame String Lightboxes with Inkjet Printable Backlit Film comes with a 30-day
manufacturer’s limited warranty.
