Please note: Because DAB digital radio is a developing technology, station availability can change
without notice. As new multiplexes and transmitters are turned on, new stations will begin transmitting
and new postcodes will be able to receive DAB digital radio. Conversely, some DAB radio stations may
disappear without notice.
Covers - Do not remove any fixed covers as this may expose dangerous voltages.
Weather - It is advisable to unplug an external aerial during a thunderstorm.
Ventilation - The ventilation holes on the casing prevent your product from over heating. Do not block or
cover these holes, especially with cloth or paper. It is recommended you leave a 10cm gap all around the
unit.
Damage - Never use the product if it is damaged in any way. Always place the unit on a flat level surface
avoiding anywhere which may be subject to strong vibration.
Batteries - Batteries are easily swallowed by young children. Do not allow young children to play with the
unit or remote control. Dispose of used batteries in an environmentally friendly manner.
Temperature - Avoid extremes of temperature, either hot or cold, place your product well away from heat
sources such as radiators or gas/electric fires.
Moisture - Do not allow your product to be exposed to rain, moisture or dust. If any liquid is spilt into this
product it can cause serious damage. If you spill any liquid switch the unit off at the mains immediately.
Contact your store immediately.
Headphones - Do not use headphones or earphones while cycling or driving. It is dangerous and illegal
in some areas. Also do not use at high volume. Hearing experts advise against listening to continuous,
loud and extended play. Reduce volume while walking especially at pedestrian crossings.
USB Storage Device Data Protection
! Always insert the USB device in the correct direction. Failure to do so may result in damage to the
USB device and this product.
! Do not remove the USB device whilst it is being accessed.
! Electrical interference and electrostatic discharges may cause the USB device to malfunction and
suffer damage, resulting in data loss.
It is strongly recommended that any important data is backed up on a PC to protect against corruption,
data loss or device malfunction. Please note that our company shall not accept any liability for damage or
loss of stored data.

CLOCK SETTINGCLOCK SETTING
When the radio is connected to the power for the first time, it will be in standby, the red power indicator
will come on and the display will show “00:00” and start to run. Press the STANDBY button once to switch
on the unit, it will automatically enter into the DAB mode and perform DAB auto tune full scan function,
after the scan has finished, the first alphanumerically found station will be automatically selected. The
clock will then be synchronized to the current local time in a few seconds. Manual clock setting is not
required.
ALARM FUNCTIONALARM FUNCTION
You can use the alarm function to wake you to an electronic buzzer tone, the radio (DAB/FM) or your
favourite MP3 songs from USB.
Important Note: For selecting wake up to radio (DAB/FM) or USB, always adjust the volume to the level
you want to hear when the alarm comes on.
Setting the alarm wake-up time

2. Repeatedly press the UP or DOWN buttons followed by pressing the SELECT button to adjust your
desired alarm time – first the hour and then the minute.(F.2)
3. Finally press the SELECT button to confirm and the alarm wake-up time is set.

1. When the alarm wake-up time is set, the alarm wake-up mode in the display will flash and you can
now pressing the UP or DOWN button to select your desired alarm wake-up mode – BUZ, DAB, FM or

2. To select wake to buzzer, press the SELECT button when the display shows “BUZ” then press the UP
or DOWN button to select your desired buzzer tone 1 or 2. Finally press the SELECT button to confirm
and wake to buzzer is set. (F.4)
3. To select wake to radio (DAB or FM), press the SELECT button when the display shows “DAB” or
“FM”, then press the UP or DOWN button to select your desired preset station 1-4. Finally press the
SELECT button to confirm and wake to radio (DAB or FM) is set.
4. To select wake to USB, press the SELECT button when the display shows “USB” and wake to USB is
set. Ensure the USB port is connected to your memory device loaded with MP3 songs.

Setting the alarm on/off
Automatic Alarm Repeat
The alarm will automatically repeat each day at the selected time as long as the alarm icon is displayed.
To cancel this function, first repeatedly press the INFO button until the alarm status is displayed, then
press the SELECT button to select alarm “OFF”.
SNOOZE FUNCTIONSNOOZE FUNCTION
When the alarm has triggered, press the SNOOZE button
will temporary switch off the alarm for 5 minutes. A small
“z” icon will appear by the side of the alarm icon to indicate
snooze on. This is repeatable in the one hour alarm duration.

Note: If the alarm arrives in radio operation mode, and alarm wake to radio (DAB/FM) or USB is selected,
there will be no snooze function.

Hints for better reception
This radio carries a single DAB/FM telescopic antenna, to obtain the best performance, you should fully
extend the antenna and adjust its position as well as the direction until you find the best reception. For
ideal DAB reception, always maintain the antenna in a vertical upright position is highly recommended.
Getting started
When the radio is powered up for the first time, it will be in standby mode. Press the STANDBY button

function. During the scan, the display will show a slide bar that indicates the progress of the scan. After
the scan has finished, the number of services found will be displayed and then the first alphanumerically

DAB-unlike normal radio-Groups together several radio stations and transmits them on one frequency.
These groups are referred to as multiplexes and ensembles. Every time one of these groups has been
found, the name of that group will be displayed.

2. When the alarm time arrives, the selected alarm mode will be on and the alarm icon in the display will
flash to indicate the alarm is triggered. To stop the alarm sooner, press the STANDBY button.
3. To check the alarm status, repeatedly press the INFO button until you see the alarm information in
the display.

Auto services scan modes
There are two types of services scan modes, one is quick scan and the other is full scan. Quick scan will
only search for the UK DAB Band III channels and full scan will search all DAB Band III channels. Once the
scan has finished, the radio will select the first alphanumerically found station.
1. To activate the quick scan, press the AUTOTUNE button once, the display will show “Scan Services
Quick Scan“ and then a progressing slide bar.(F.9)
2. To activate full scan, press and hold the AUTOTUNE button until the display shows “Scan Services
Full Scan”.(F.10)
3. To explore the stations that have been found, press the UP or DOWN button.
Manual tuning
1. To select manual tuning, press and hold the INFO button until the display shows “Manual Tune”, then
press the SELECT button to confirm.(F.11)
2. Press the UP or DOWN button to move through the DAB channels, on the top half of the display will
show “5A to 13F” and their associated frequencies. When your radio locates a station group
(ensemble/multiplex) on one of the DAB channels, the name of the station group will appear on the
bottom half of the display.(F.12)
3. To enter the ensemble/multiplex, press the SELECT button, the top half of the display will show the
first station in the ensemble/multiplex.
4. Press the UP or DOWN button to see what stations are present on the found ensemble/multiplex,
when you have located your desired station, press the SELECT button, and at the same time, you
will also exit from the manual tuning mode.
Auto select on/off
You can explore the found stations by pressing the UP or DOWN button, if the auto select is “ON”, the
station will be automatically selected when the button is released, and the name of the station will be
displayed. If the auto select is “OFF”, you have to press the SELECT button to switch to that station when
the display shows your desired station, otherwise it will revert back to the original station.
To toggle between the auto select “ON” and “OFF”, press and hold the SELECT button until the display
shows the “Auto Enter ON” or “Auto Enter OFF”.(F.13)(F.14)

1. To select FM, press the DAB/FM button, the display will show the frequency and the audio mode.
2. To activate auto search up, press the AUTOTUNE button once, it will start scanning up the frequency
band and stop automatically once a station has been found.
3. To activate auto search down, press and hold the AUTOTUNE button until it starts to scan down the
frequency band.
4. To activate manual search, press the UP or DOWN button.
5. To select audio mode, press the SELECT button once, the display will show “Radio mode: Auto or
Mono” and you can toggle to select between “Auto” or “Mono”.
Note: The radio will automatically switch between stereo and mono mode, but you can override this and
switch this function manually which is helpful for poor signal reception.
STORING AND RECALLING STORED STATIONSSTORING AND RECALLING STORED STATIONS
You can store up to 8 of your favourite stations (4 DAB + 4 FM) to the presets; this will enable you to get
access to your favourite station at a touch of a single button.
1. To store a preset, first tune to your desired station, then press and hold your preferred PRESET button
(1 - 4) until the display shows “Preset # Saved”.
2. To recall a preset station, press on the PRESET button (1 - 4) that you have stored.
3. If the preset hasn’t been allocated a station, the display will show “Preset # Free”.
DISPLAY MODESDISPLAY MODES
In DAB mode, every time you press the INFO button, the display will cycle through the following display
modes:
Ensemble/Multiplex (Group name)
The Ensemble/Multiplex is a collection of radio stations that are bundled and transmitted together in a
single frequency. There are national and local multiplexes, local ones contain stations that are specific to
that area.
On some occasions you will see a “>” symbol appeared after the name of the station, this indicates that
there are secondary services available to that station. These secondary services contain extra services
that relate to the primary station.
Time and date
The time and date will be automatically updated by the broadcasted information; it is no need to set the
clock manually.
DLS
DLS stands for Dynamic Label Segment which is a scrolling message that the broadcaster may include in
their transmissions. The message usually includes information such as programme details …etc.

Signal strength
The display will show a signal bar to indicate the signal strength, the stronger the signal, the longer the
bar will be appeared from left to right.
Progarmme type
This describes the style of the programme that is being broadcast. If the information is not available, the
display will show “<Prg Type N/A>”.
Audio bit rate
The display will show the digital audio bit rate being received.
ADVANCED DISPLAY MODESADVANCED DISPLAY MODES
In normal operation, press and hold the INFO button for longer than 2 seconds will enter into the
advanced display mode, when the display shows “Manual Tune”, repeatedly press the INFO button, the
display will show in the below sequence on every press:
Alarm status
The display will show the alarm wake-up time and the wake-up mode settings.
Sleep timer status
The display will show the sleep timer status and the sleep time when the sleep timer is on.

FACTORY RESETFACTORY RESET
When you move the radio to another part of the country, your pre-tuned and stored DAB stations may no
longer be available. If this is the case then you will need to reset your radio back to its original factory
settings; to perform a factory reset, please do the following:
1. Switch on the radio and select DAB mode.
2. Press and hold the INFO button for longer than two seconds, when the display shows “Manual Tune”,
repeatedly press the INFO button until “System Reset” is displayed.
3. Press the SELECT button to confirm, the display will first show “System Reset” and then perform
services full scan function.
4. When the scan has finished (within 1 minute), the radio will now display and select the first
alphanumerically found station.
Note: All of your stored DAB & FM presets will be lost once the reset has taken place.

1. When the radio is on, press the USB/AUX button to select USB function, the display will finally show
“USB NO DATA”. . (F.15)

3. To start playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button,

4. To interrupt playback, press PLAY/PAUSE button, the elapsed time will flash and the “pause” icon
will appear in the display.
5. To resume playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE button again.
6. To stop playback, press the STOP button.

tracks in the memory devi ce. Playback wil l start at the begin ning of the select ed track.
SLEEP FUNCTION SLEEP FUNCTION
This function allows you to program the radio to switch off itself after a set period of time.
1. To activate the sleep function, press the SLEEP button, “Sleep 90 min” will appear in the display.
2. Repeatedly press the SLEEP button, the time will change in sequence on every press:
3. When your desired sleep time appears in the display, release the button, the sleep function will be
confirmed in two seconds. A small “s” icon will appear in the display to indicate sleep timer on. When
the sleep time counts to zero, the unit will go off.
4. To put the sleep function off, press the SLEEP button again and the “s” icon in the display will
disappear.
5. To check the sleep timer status, repeatedly press the INFO button until you see the sleep timer
information appears in the display.

Note: In case that your memory device is loaded with MP3 songs but the display keeps on showing ‘NO
DATA”, the format of your USB device might not be compatible with this
radio. To listen to the songs in the device, please use the line-in cable
(supplied), insert one end to the AUX IN socket (at the back of the radio)
and the other end to the line out or the headphone
jack of your USB device, press the USB/AUX
button to select aux, the radio will be switched to
the output of your device.

The brightness of the display is automatically adjusted for the room light conditions. It will be reduced
when the room lighting is turned off so as not to interfere with your sleep. The display will brighten
automatically in the daylight or when the room lights are turned on again for better visibility.
HEADPHONE JACKHEADPHONE JACK
The stereo headphone jack is located on the right bottom front. Connect a set of stereo headphones (not
included) to this jack for private listening. When headphones are in use, the speaker will be automatically
cut off.
IMPORTANT: When using headphones always set the volume control to a low level before you put the
headphones on, then put the headphones on and gradually increase the volume to a comfortable listening
level.

AUX INPUTAUX INPUT
There is a 3.5mm stereo aux input socket located at the back of the unit; analogue audio sound signals
from other sources can be input to the radio through this socket.
Press the USB/AUX button to select AUX function, the display will show “AUX” and the audio will be
switched to the aux input signal and you can adjust the volume control for your desired sound output
level.
