hearing protectors, gloves and workshopapron
capable of stoppingsmallabrasive or workpiece
fragments. The eyeprotection mustbecapableof
stopping flying debris generatedbyvariousopera-
tions. Thedust mask or respiratormust be capable
of filtratingparticles generated by your operation.
Prolonged exposure to high intensity noise may
cause hearing loss.
j) Keepbystandersasafe distance away fromwork
area. Anyone entering the work areamust wear
personal protective equipment. Fragments of
workpieceorofabroken accessorymay fly away
and cause injury beyond immediate area of opera-
tion.
k) Hold power tool by insulated grippingsurfaces
only, when performinganoperation where the
cutting accessorymay contact hidden wiring or
its owncord. Cutting accessorycontactinga“live”
wire maymake exposed metal parts of the power
tool“live”and could give the operatoranelectric
shock.
l) Always holdthe toolfirmly in your hand(s)
during the start-up. Thereaction torqueofthe
motor,asitacceleratestofull speed, can cause the
tool to twist.
m) Use clamps to supportworkpiece whenever prac-
tical. Neverhold asmallworkpiece in one hand
and the toolinthe otherhand while in use. Clamp-
ing asmall workpieceallows youtouse your hand(s)
to control the tool. Round material such as dowel
rods, pipes or tubing have atendencytoroll while
being cut, and maycausethe bit to bind or jump to-
wardyou.
n) Position the cord clear of thespinning accessory.
If youlose control, the cord may be cutorsnagged
and your handorarm may be pulled into the spinning
accessory.
o) Neverlay the power tooldown untilthe acces-
sory has come to acomplete stop. The spinning
accessorymay grab the surface and pull the power
tool out of your control.
p)
After changingthe bits or making anyadjust-
ments, make sure the collet nut, chuckorany
other adjustment devices are securely tightened.
Loose
adjustment devices can unexpectedlyshift,
causing loss of control, loose rotating components
will be violently thrown.
q) Do not run the power toolwhile carrying it at your
side. Accidental contact with the spinning accessory
could snagyour clothing,pulling the accessoryinto
your body.

Kickbackand related warnings
Kickbackisasudden reaction to apinched or snagged
rotating wheel, sanding band, brush or anyother acces-
sory. Pinchingorsnagging causesrapid stalling of the
rotatingaccessory which in turncauses the uncontrolled
powertool to be forced in the direction opposite of the
accessory’s rotation.
Forexample, if an abrasive wheel is snagged or pinched
by the workpiece, the edge of the wheelthatisentering
into the pinch point can dig into the surface of the mate-
rial causing the wheeltoclimb out or kick out.The wheel
may either jump toward or away from the operator,de-
pending on directionofthe wheel’s movement at the
point of pinching. Abrasivewheels mayalso break under
these conditions.
Kickback is the resultofpower tool misuseand/or incor-
rect operatingprocedures or conditionsand can be
avoided by takingproper precautions as given below.
a) Maintain afirm grip on the power tooland posi-
tion your body and arm to allow you to resist
