This appliance can be used by children
aged from 8 years and above and persons
with reduced physical, sensory and
mental capabilities or lack of experience
and knowledge if they have been given
supervision or instruction by a person
responsible for their safety concerning the
use of the appliance in a safe way and
understand the hazards involved. Children
shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning
and user maintenance shall not be made by
children without supervision.
When this oven is installed, it should
be easy to isolate the appliance from the
electricity supply by pulling out the plug or
operating a circuit breaker.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must be
replaced by the manufacturer or its service
agent or a similarly XualiÄed person in order
to avoid a hazard.

This oven is intended for counter-top and
built-in use only. It is not intended for use
inside a cupboard. This oven may be built
into a wall cabinet by using the proper trim
kit, (Metallic silver NN-TKT52MFP, white NN-
TKT52WFP) which may be purchased from a
local Panasonic dealer.
For countertop use:
Allow 15 cm of space on the top of the
oven, 10 cm at the back, 5 cm on one side,
and the other side must be opened more
than 40 cm.
When heating food in plastic or paper
containers, check the oven frequently as
these types of containers ignite if overheated.
If smoke is emitted or a Äre occurs in the
oven, press Stop/Cancel button and leave
the door closed in order to stiÅe any Åames.
Disconnect the power cord, or shut off power
at fuse or circuit breaker panel.
When heating liquids, e.g. soup, sauces
and beverages in your oven, overheating the
liquid beyond boiling point can occur without
evidence of bubbling. This could result in a
sudden boil over of the hot liquid.

The contents of feeding bottles and baby
food jars are to be stirred or shaken. The
temperature has to be checked before
consumption to avoid burns.
Do not cook eggs in their shells and whole
hard-boiled eggs by MICROWAVE. Pressure
may build up and the eggs may explode,
even after the microwave heating has ended.
Clean the inside of the oven, door seals and
door seal areas regularly. When food splatters
or spilled liquids adhere to the oven walls,
door seals and door seal areas wipe off with
a damp cloth. Mild detergent may be used if
they get very dirty.
The use of harsh detergent or abrasive
is not recommended. DO NOT USE
COMMERCIAL OVEN CLEANERS.
Failure to maintain the oven in a clean
condition could lead to deterioration of
surfaces that could affect the life of the
appliance and possibly result in a hazardous
situation.
Only use utensils that are suitable for use in
microwave ovens.

1. Switch the oven off before cleaning
and unpOug at socket if possibOe.
. Keep the inside of the oven, door
seals and door seal areas clean.
:hen food spOatters or spiOOed OiTuids
adhere to oven waOOs door seaOs
and door seaO areas wipe off with a
damp cOoth. MiOd detergent may be
used if they get very dirty. The use of

carefuOOy with a damp cOoth immediateOy
after use. 'o not use harsh detergents

. <our oven cavity is constructed of
zinc coated steeO painted with an
e[tremeOy durabOe coating. $fter use
the oven interior shouOd be wiped out to
remove any remaining water in order to
reduce the risk of corrosion to the cavity
and door.
The cavity and door can be damaged
by abrasive cOeaners and sharp obMects
so care must be taken to avoid damage
caused in this way. ,f the cavity or

precautions are taken regarding the

7. Keep air vents clear at all times.
&heck that no dust or other materiaO
is bOocking any of the air vents on the
top bottom or rear of the oven. ,f air
vents become bOocked this couOd cause
overheating which wouOd affect the
operation of the oven and possibOy resuOt
in a hazardous situation.
. If steam accumulates inside or
around the outside of the oven door,
wipe with a soft cOoth. This may occur
when the microwave oven is operated
under high humidity conditions and in no
way indicates a maOfunction of the unit or
microwave Oeakage.
. ,t is occasionaOOy necessary to remove
the Glass Turntable for cOeaning. :ash
the gOass turntabOe in warm soapy water.
10. The Roller Ring and oven cavity Áoor
shouOd be cOeaned reguOarOy to avoid
e[cessive noise. 6impOy wipe the bottom
surface of the oven with miOd detergent
and hot water then dry with a cOean
cOoth. The RoOOer Ring may be washed in
miOd soapy water.
$fter removing the RoOOer Ring from

repOace it in the proper position.

'isconnect the power cord, or shut off the
power at the fuse.
Short Cooking Times
$s microwave cooking times are much
shorter than other cooking methods it is
essentiaO that recommended cooking times
are not e[ceeded without Àrst checking the
food.
&ooking times given in the cookbook
are appro[imate. )actors that may affect
cooking times are preferred degree of
cooking, starting temperature, aOtitude,
voOume, size and shape of foods and
utensiOs used. $s you become famiOiar with
the oven, you wiOO be abOe to adMust these
factors.
,t is better to undercook rather than
overcook foods. ,f food is undercooked,
it can aOways be returned to the oven for
further cooking. ,f food is overcooked,
nothing can be done. $Oways start with
minimum cooking times.
Important
If the recommended cooking times are
exceeded the food will be spoiled and
in extreme circumstances could catch
Àre and possibly damage the interior of
the oven.
Small quantities of food
Take care when heating smaOO Tuantities
of food as these can easiOy burn, dry out
or catch Àre if cooked too Oong. $Oways set
short cooking times and check the food
freTuentOy.
NEVER OPERATE THE OVEN WITHOUT
FOOD INSIDE.
Foods low in moisture
Take care when heating foods Oow in
moisture, e.g. bread items, chocoOate,
popcorn, biscuits and pastries. These can
easiOy burn, dry out or catch on Àre if cooked
too Oong.
:e do not recommend heating foods Oow in
moisture such as popcorn or poppadoms.
The oven has been deveOoped for food use.
:e do not recommend that it is used for
heating non food items such as wheat bags
or hot water bottOes.
Christmas Pudding
&hristmas puddings and other foods high in
fats or sugar, eg. Mam, mince pies, must not
be over heated. These foods must never be
Oeft unattended as with over cooking these
foods can ignite.
Boiled Eggs
Eggs in their sheOO and whoOe hard boiOed
eggs shouOd not be heated in microwave
ovens since they may e[pOode even after
microwave heating has ended.
Foods with Skins
Potatoes, appOes, egg yoOk, whoOe
vegetabOes and sausages are e[ampOes
of food with non porous skins. These must
be pierced using a fork before cooking to
prevent bursting.

/iTuids and other foods must not be
heated in seaOed containers since they are
OiabOe to e[pOode.

Liquids
:hen heating OiTuids, e.g. soup, sauces
and beverages in your microwave oven,
overheating the OiTuid beyond boiOing point
can occur without evidence of bubbOing.
This couOd resuOt in a sudden boiO over of
the hot OiTuid. To prevent this possibiOity the
foOOowing steps shouOd be taken
a $void using straightsided containers
with narrow necks.

container in the oven and again
haOfway through the heating time.
d $fter heating, aOOow to stand in the
oven for a short time, stirring
again before carefuOOy removing the
container.
e Microwave heating of beverages can
resuOt in deOayed eruptive boiOing,
therefore care shouOd be taken when
handOing the container.
Lids
$Oways remove the Oids of Mars and
containers and takeaway food containers
before you microwave them. ,f you donҋt
then steam and pressure might buiOd up
inside and cause an e[pOosion even after
the microwave cooking has stopped.
Deep Fat Frying

Paper, Plastic
:hen heating food in pOastic or paper
containers keep an eye on the oven due to

e.g. kitchen roOO unOess they say they are
speciÀcaOOy designed for use in a microwave
oven. These products contain impurities

Reheating
,t is essentiaO that reheated food is served
´piping hotµ. Remove the food from the oven
and check that it is ´piping hotµ, i.e. steam is
being emitted from aOO parts and any sauce
is bubbOing. ,f you wish you may choose
to check the food has reached 75Ý& with a
food thermometer ² but remember do not
use this thermometer inside the microwave.
For foods that cannot be stirred, e.g.
Oasagne, shepherds pie, the centre shouOd
be cut with a knife to test it is weOO heated
through. Even if a manufacturerҋs packet

check the food is piping hot before serving
and if in doubt return your food to the oven
for further heating.
Standing Time
6tanding time refers to the period at the
end of cooking or reheating when food is
Oeft before being eaten, i.e. it is a rest time
which aOOows the heat in the food to continue
to conduct to the centre, thus eOiminating
coOd spots.
Keeping Your Oven Clean

Microwaves are present in the

and from manmade sources. Manmade
sources incOude radar, radio, teOevision,

,n a microwave oven, eOectricity is converted
into microwaves by the MAGNETRON.
How Microwaves cook food
The microwaves cause the water moOecuOes
to vibrate which causes FRICTION, i.e.
HEAT. This heat then cooks the food.
Microwaves are aOso attracted to fat and
sugar particOes, and foods high in these wiOO
cook more TuickOy. Microwaves can onOy
penetrate to a depth of 5 cm 1ô ²
inches and as heat spreads through the
