Thank you for purchasing from Little Cottage
Co. You will nd all components necessary to
complete your storage shed. Refer to your buy list
for specic contents which will vary.
Locate your rim and oor joist and layout as
shown.
Start at the corner and use the square to make
sure the corner is ush and fasten with 3” nails.
Next square up the oor as shown.
Make sure the OSB is ush with the 2x4 and
fasten with 2” nails.
Fasten every 6” to 8” with 2” nails.

Locate the 2x4’s for plates as shown.
Fasten the wall with 3” nails as shown.
Next place the 2x4’s for the windows if you have
purchased a workshop and fasten with 3” nails.
Install the 2x4 header and fasten with 3” nails.
Next locate the Smartside siding as shown.
Make sure the corners are ush as shown and
fasten with 2” nails.

Next make sure top is ush with 2x4 and fasten
with 2” nails.
Make sure outside corner is ush as shown before
fastening.
Continue with Smartside siding installation.
Fasten header piece with 2” nails as shown in
picture before.
Next install door stops as shown. Keep ush
with the top of 2x4 not Smartside and secure with
2” nails.
Install the trim block in the center of the header
and secure with 2” nails.

Install the 2 3/4” trim around the door and secure
with 2” nails.
Lay wall to side as shown.
Build the next wall as shown.
Continue installing Smartside, making sure all is
ush.
`Continue installing the Smartside siding.
Install 3/8” Smartside as shown.

Continue with Smartside and fasten with 2” nails
every 6” o 8”.
Lay wall to the side as shown.
Next locate the back wall plates and studs as
shown.
Secure with 3” nails as shown.
Fasten the truss with 3” nails as shown.
Measure 3 7/8” as shown.

Secure with 3” nails.
Install Smartside as shown. Make sure it is 3” to
the bottom of the 2x4.
Secure with 2” nails.
Secure with 2” nails every 6” to 8” on center.
Lay wall to the side as shown.
Continue with the opposite gable wall like the
one before.

Make sure the small piece of Smart side is in-
stalled at the top.
Measure 2” for rakes as shown at the bottom.
Same at the top.
Keep the rake ush at the bottom and secure with
3” nails.
This is what the wall looks like when complete.
Install the rst wall.

Make sure the wall is ush on the end and put
pressue on the outside as shown, fasten with 3”
nails.
Fasten with 3” nails 16” on center.
Make sure your opening measurement is 48” or
60”. That depends on the building size.
Continue with walls as shown.

Fasten outside corner as shown with 2” nails.

Make sure the walls are in place, and secure with
3” nails.
Fasten with 2” nails.
Next nail the bottom of the building with 2” nails
8” o.c all the way around.
Nail the corners every 6” to 8” with 2” nails.
Next locate the truss parts.
Install the truss gussets as shown and secure with
2” nails.

Flip the truss around and do the same with the
gusset.
Locate the wall bracing.
Fasten bracing temporarily with 2 1/2” screws.
Measure your wall before fastening the last brace
with 2 1/2” screws.
Measure your wall before fastening the last brace.
Next hang trusses on the walls as shown.

Install the truss as shown and fasten with 3” nails.
Install 2 3/4” trim as shown, keep ush with the
outside of the rake and fasten with 2” nails.
Continue with 2 3/4” trim.
Install the trim on the front side as shown.
Next install roof sheeting as shown and fasten
with 2” nails.
Continue with the roof sheeting.

Make sure the trusses are 24” o.c. before fas-
tening sheeting.
Next install the drip edge as shown.
Continue with drip edge.
Use the tin snips to cut drip edge so it will
bend.
Measure 6” over the drip edge and snap a chalk
line as shown for starter strips.
Install the rst starter strip as shown.

Continue with starter strips.
Install shingles in a staggered fashion.
Continue with shingles as shown.
Cut the ridge caps and install the rst one as
shown.
Continue with ridge caps.
You can nish with a smaller cap with no
adhesion strip.

Locate the window, shutters and trim.
Next install the window and fasten with 2”
nails as shown.
Next install the shutters and secure with pro-
vided screws for shutters.
Install 2 3/4” trim as shown and secure with 2”
nails.
Next install the bottom trim.
Locate 3” Smartside siding pieces and keep
ush with the top of the oor and secure with
2” nails.

Install the door with 1 1/4” black headed
screws, 3 per hinge, as well as (1) 2 1/3” black-
headed screw per hinge.
Install the screws on the bottom.
Install the next door like the door like the door
before.
Install the barrel bolts as shown with 1 1/4”
screws.
Install the top barrel bolt as shown.
Use the hammer to tap on the barrel bolt to
locate where to drill your 5/6” hole.

Drill a 5/16” hole as shown.
Use the hammer again to tap on the barrel bolt
to locate where to drill your 5/16” hole.
Drill a 5/16” hole for the barrel bolt.
Now install the latch on the door, with 1 1/4”
screws.
Continue with the latch.
Install the outside corners, fasten with white
nish nails.
