8218 pH pen manual
1. Introduction
8218 pH pen is designed with waterproof. It is an ideal instrument in pH and the temperature
measurement for water in family fishbowl and university lecture experiment. The meter has functions in
auto calibration, auto temperature compensation and 6 minutes auto power off.

3. Usage and maintenance
3.1 Measurement: remove the protection cap from the electrode, press [ON/OFF] to turn on the power.
Put the electrode into the solution to be tested, then the meter shows the pH and temperature data of
the solution. After measurement, clean the electrode with water, put on the protection cap, press and
hold on [ON/OFF] to turn off the meter.
3.2 The meter has got calibrated before its shipment. For calibration operation, please refer to chapter “4.
Calibration” of this manual
3.3 Measurement after long time not used (over two months), the glass bulb of the electrode should be
dipped in the water for 30 minutes, which should be under water 2-3 cm.
3.4 Maintenance: the electrode should be well cleaned with water. If the meter displays a cell graphic, it
means the cell voltage is low, please replace it with a new cell. Please pay attention to the cell
polarity during the replacement.
4. Calibration
4.1 Press [CAL] button to enter into calibration status, “CAL”is then twinkling on the screen. Please
follow up the steps shown on the screen and put the electrode into a corresponding standard solution.
