maintenance or relocation of unit.
INSTALLATION / ELECTRICAL
The AQ1000 and AQ500 come ready for hard wire installation
& manually lled water containers. (can be direct plumbed)
! NOTE :: A 15 Amp, 120 Volt circuit is required. A dedicated
circuit is preferred but not required.
Keep unit in OFF position before connecting electrical power.
! NOTE :: When preparing the opening for the unit provide
at least 1⁄4 inch of clearance from each side to make
installation easier.
Caution :: Use two conductor, non-metallic sheath
cable with ground wire (3 wires total) for incoming power
supply on cassette. Use appropriate wire to meet local and
national electrical codes for rated power.
! NOTE :: When installing multiple units in same
vicinity they will need to be wired in parallel.
The AQUAFIRE cassette allows for installation of a wall
switch to control incoming power to unit.
Connect black wire (live) from unit to live wire from power
supply. Connect white wire (neutral) from unit to neutral
wire from power supply. Connect green wire (ground) from
unit to ground wire from power supply.
Place all connectors inside unit and secure cable clamp
to unit, making sure that cable clamp grips only jacket of
service cable.
! Warning :: Ensure wiring is not pinched or against a sharp
edge, ensure power wiring is stored to avoid tripping or
snagging to reduce re risk, electric shock or injury.
Optional Direct Plumbing (see Figure 2)
Units are designed to be manually lled or direct plumbed.
One 1/4“ waterline can supply water for up to four units in
series. More than four units will require additional water lines.
• Use self-tapping saddle valve for 1/4“ copper
water water lines (recommended).
All plumbing connections should comply with
local building codes.
• Locate plumbing connection for easy access allowing
shut off during maintenance.
• Connect to cold water line.
• Use normal tap water. If water is ‘hard’, soften or lter it.
• Be sure tubing is cut square to prevent leaking.
Verify all connections are fully inserted and begin opening
each of the valves, checking for leaks.
! NOTE :: Unit has three levels of water control management.

Optional Direct Plumbing (continued)
New Construction:
Locate AQUAFIRE unit where effects of drafts, vents, ceiling
fans and air currents are minimized. If located where
air movement disrupts ame, a glass fence up to 10“ in
height can used to optimize performance. See Figure 3.
Building an enclosure.
• Use studs to frame and enclosure. (see Figure 3).
• Minimum air intake (from below) is 100 square inches
for AQ1000 and 50 square inches for AQ500 in order to
perform properly. More air intake is better.
• Electrical Connection. In back left corner of unit, locate
and remove electrical cover plate. (two screws)
• Install a 3⁄8 in. or 1⁄2 in. cable connector, not included,
suitable for mounting in a 7⁄8 in. hole, to cable plate and
feed supply cable through the connector.
Install into roughed-in framing so that unit is resting on two
framing sills, one at front & one at back on a level surface.
Level housing / right - left, front - back, using adjustable feet.
Secure unit to permanant framing using a minimum of
two holes located at each end. (Figure 1)
After surrounding area is completed, install tethered
controller into jack & run cord around internal components
and out through small opening in back panel. (Figure 1)
Locate tethered controller so: (a) it can be easily accessed, if
being used as main control, or (b) it is not obscured by brick,
stone or sheet metal that blocks signal from remote.
• Initialize the tethered controller to the remote.
Fill the unit:
• Rell Container(s): remove ll cap assemblies from inlet
to the reservoir tanks, then install rell container(s).
! NOTE :: During initial installation, water from rell container
will ll the reservoir; ll rell container a second time to
maximize operating time.
Hard Plumbed - prime reservoir(s) with 1 Quart (1L) water.
! NOTE :: Use normal tap water for AQUAFIRE unit(s). If
water is hard, soften water with 1/8 tsp of salt (0.5 ml)
added to water reservoir. (Only add more salt if you notice
unit is not producing mist as expected.)
! NOTE :: If rocks or other decorative materials are used
on top of units be carefull small particles cannot fall into
unit. Decorative objects should not exceed 5 lbs ,if so,
use Lumina AQUAFIRE Tray.
Bathroom Installation ::
AQUAFIRE must be protected by an accessable GFI circuit
to reset circuit if necessary. AQUAFIRE is not a watertight
electrical appliance. Prevent water from entering unit and
keep away from showers, tubs, etc.
Operation ::
Three different control options are available for unit:
(1) manual buttons (under media tray), (2) tethered controller
(must be connected to unit) and (3) remote control.
AQ1000 unit has two separate internal modules that are
controlled by settings entered on left side (primary). Fine
adjustment can be done using controls on right module to
have both modules operating at same level (secondary).
! NOTE :: When unit is used in a quiet environment, it
may be possible to hear a sound related to operation of
AQUAFIRE unit. This is normal and not a cause for concern.
! NOTE :: Always ensure appliance is xed to framing in a
level position.
