Controls
! NOTE :: Icons with 1 dot indicate controls for primary and 2
dots indicate controls for secondary. Secondary controls
are not applicable for the AQ500.
A. On/Off Switch Supplies power to unit.
! NOTE :: When unit is rst turned on lights will come on
and mist will appear 45 seconds later.
B. Standby
Puts unit into standby mode where control by tethered
controller or remote is possible.
C. Blue tooth
Required for initializing remote, see initialization instructions.
D. Test Mode
Used for troubleshooting issues, see Troubleshooting.
E. Flame Intensity Control
Adjusts intensity of ame and smoke effect when unit has
been activated. Pressing will decrease ame effect and
pressing will increase ame.
! NOTE :: Allow one minute after adjustment to notice a change.
! NOTE :: During normal operation expect to see some
condensation of water on media tray. This will vary
depending on ambient conditions and is normal.
! NOTE :: When water tank is empty unit will turn OFF after
30 seconds.
F. Volume Control
Adjusts volume of wood re sound effects.
On the unit: Pressing will decrease volume and
pressing will increase volume.
On the Remote and Tethered Controller: Pressing turns
volume On and Off.
Remote Control
Tethered controller is used in same manner as remote but
houses blue tooth receiver for communication with remote.
Tethered controller must be connected and On/Off
Switch must be in ‘ON’ ( I ) position for remote to operate.
! NOTE :: To operate correctly remote control must be
initialized with unit.
Remote Control Initialization / Reprogram
For remote to communicate with unit blue tooth must be
setup, as outlined below:
1. Install tethered controller - plug into port and run wire
out of housing through opening in center of back panel.
2. Place On/Off Switch (Figure 5-callout A) in ON (“I”) position.
3. Press blue tooth initialization button on Primary controls
(left side).
4. Unit will beep and turn lights ON & OFF every 2.5 seconds
to indicate unit is in synchronization mode.
5. Within 20 seconds of pressing blue tooth button, press
any button on remote control (Figure 6).
! NOTE :: Last step must be performed in 20 seconds.
Failure to do so will require steps to be repeated.
6. If synchronization was successful LED’s will blink 5
times and beep 5 times then unit will go to Standby.
WARNING :: Disconnect power before attempting cleaning
or maintenance to reduce risk of re, electric shock or injury.
Filling the water tank
When water tank is empty, ame effect shuts OFF and will
be 2 audible beeps, follow these steps.
CAUTION :: Allow at least ve minutes for components
to cool before disassembling unit to rell.
1. Gently remove top tray and place it carefully aside.
2. Turn On/Off switch to OFF position (0) (Figure 5A)
3. Remove rell container, lift upwards.
4. Refill container with tap water.
! NOTE :: Normal tap water can be used in AQUAFIRE. In
event your tap water is hard, use distilled water or soften
with 1⁄8 tsp of salt added to water reservoir. (Use addi-
tional salt only if unit is not producing mist as expected.)
5. Screw cap back on, do not overtighten.
6. Return relled container to sump, with tank cap facing
down and at side of tank facing outward.
7. Turn On/Off switch to OFF position (I). (Figure 5A)
8. Gently place top tray back into position.
! NOTE: If units are not used for 2 weeks or longer, empty,
drain water, and dry all components.
Cleaning
Clean top cover assembly, sump and transducer with soap
and water on a monthly basis.
