FINAL ASSEMBLY OF PURESKY
EMISSION SYSTEM
1. Attach intake spacer bracket to air intake
pipe using provided self tapping screw
toward the bottom as shown in Figure 1.
Be careful not to press down self tapping
screws too hard and smash or crush
components.
2. Slide elbow over the top of the air intake
pipe and secure with 4 self tapping screws
provided as shown in Figure 2.
3. Slide the open end of the elbow over the
collar on the side of the emission system
unit. Secure with 1 provided self tapping

INSTALLATION OF PURESKY
EMISSION SYSTEM
1. Place the entire PureSky emission system
over the ue on the outdoor wood boiler
and slide the ue up through the hole
on the bottom of the PureSky emission
system.
2. Secure the PureSky emission system to
the outdoor wood boiler. Each application
will vary.
INSTALLING ELECTRICAL OUTLET
BOX
1. The PureSky emission system comes
with an electrical outlet box separate from
the main unit. The box will need to be
mounted on the side of the outdoor wood
boiler in such a way that cords extending
from the electrical box can reach the
PureSky emission system and electrical
components of outdoor wood boiler.
2. Remove the 2 screws on the left and right
side of the outlet box on the PureSky
emission system. Inside this box remove
the nuts on the end of the heater rod using
pliers. The cord extending from the electri-
cal box that is shorter with a metal housing
on the end will have 2 wires coming out
the end with stainless steel connectors.
Slide the hole of the connector on the wire
over the each end of the heater rod and
replace the nut.
3. Place the metal housing over the box and
secure with the 2 previously removed
screws.
4. The cord extending from the electrical
box that is longer will have colored wires
coming out the end that will need to be
connected to the outdoor wood boiler.

ASSEMBLY AND INSTALLATION OF
DOUBLE WALL CHIMNEY SYSTEM
The chimney system approved for this product
consists of 12", 18", 24", 36" and 48" snap-
lock, double-wall pipe segments, planned
for maximum adaptability to individual site
requirements. Actual lengths gained after t-
ting overlaps must be taken into consideration
(lineal gain) and are given in the lineal gain
chart (see Figure 3). Lineal Gain is the actual
measurable length of a part after two or more
parts are connected.
Each double wall chimney section consists of
a galvanized outer pipe, a stainless steel inner
ue pipe and a wire spacer. Pipe sections must
be assembled independently as chimney is
installed. When connecting chimney directly
to the PureSky emission control system, in-
ner ue pipe section must be installed rst
with lanced side up. Outer pipe section can
then be installed over ue pipe section with
hemmed end up. Press down on each pipe
section until lances securely engage hem on
top of emission system outdoor wood boiler.
Wire will assure proper spacing between inner
and outer pipe sections.

WARNING: The opening in the
collar around the chimney at the top
of the PureSky emission system
must not be obstructed.
Continue to assemble chimney sections as
outlined below, making sure that both inner
and outer pipe sections are locked together.
When installing double wall snap-lock chimney
together, it is important to assure joint between
chimney sections is locked. Check by pulling
chimney upward after locking. Chimney will not
come apart if properly locked. It is not neces-
sary to add screws to keep chimney together.
Terminations must extend a minimum of
70.25" in height above the PureSky emission
system (see Figure 4).

OUTDOOR WOOD FURNACE BEST
BURN PRACTICE
If outdoor wood boiler is located within
300 feet to any residence not served by
the furnace, it is recommended that the
chimney be at least 2 feet higher than
the peak of the residence served.
If outdoor wood boiler is located within
100 feet to any residence not served by
the furnace, the chimney must be 2 feet
higher than the peak of the residence
served or not served, whichever is
higher.
TERMINATIONS/SPARK ARRESTOR
The emission system must be terminated
with listed round top termination. In any case,
refer to installation instructions supplied with
termination. Terminations approved for this
emission system is RT-8DM.

CHIMNEY REINFORCEMENT
Refer to the manufacturer of your outdoor
wood boiler for their chimney reinforcement
recommendations.
It is FMI PRODUCTS, LLC recommendation
that if exposed portion of chimney is greater
than ve feet above rooine, support wires are
recommended to keep chimney secured. (see
Accessories on page 7). Support wires must
be attached to chimney support brackets.
Chimney support brackets must be attached
to outer pipe of chimney with self-drilling
screws provided in kit (screws must not pen-
etrate inner ue pipe). The angle of support
wires should not be more than 45° from hori-
zontal when fastened to roof. Place chimney
support brackets approximately 18" below
termination and space brackets approximately
120° apart. Follow instructions included in kit.

PURESKY EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM
This PureSky Emission Control System re-
duces particulates emissions in an outdoor
wood boiler to meet the EPA Hydronic Heater
Program Phase 2 emission level.
The proper use of your outdoor wood boiler
equipped with the PureSky emission system
will signicantly reduce the emissions that it
produces. Simple fuel considerations with
regard to moisture content, size, and quality
of fuel will help control the production of wood
smoke and improve the performance of the
catalyst. With proper care, the catalyst will
provide years of fuel savings and lowered
emissions. By following some simple guide-
lines, you will ensure maximum performance
and longevity.
The smoke that is usually seen coming out
of a chimney is essentially a combination of
unburned fuel (carbon and hydrogen) and
moisture in the form of water vapor. The cata-
lyst is a technology that provides secondary
combustion for the wood burning process.
FUELING GUIDELINES
Burn only natural wood or the manufacturer's
listed fuels may be burned in the outdoor wood
boiler equipped with the PureSky emission
control system. Burning of any and all material
is prohibited. Avoid the use of coated, painted
or pressure treated wood, ocean driftwood,
plywood, particle board, or wood with glue on
it. Never burn garbage, cardboard, plastics,
foam, colored newspapers or magazines.
Do not use articial logs, or petroleum based
re starters. Avoid wood with high salt content.
All of these materials may contain compounds
which can shorten the life of the catalyst. Wet
or unseasoned wood may lower catalytic tem-
peratures and result in inefcient operation.
The catalyst is designed to function at op-
timum efciency when the wood boiler is
burning clean, dry, cord wood as wood boiler
fuel. A simple visual inspection of the chimney
during the wood burning process will deter-
mine catalyst performance.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
The PureSky Emission Control System is a
maintenance free technology. Do not attempt
to remove or clean the combustor. The direct
ame from the re will clean the combustor.
Only a certied technician should remove the
unit. To ensure proper operation, the PureSky
catalyst should be replaced every 3 to 5 years
(see Parts on page 22).
NOTE: Chimney smoke may be visible during
the rst 8 to 10 minutes of operation when the
re is rst getting started and the nal 8 to 10
minutes of operation while the re is dissipat-
ing. Under normal operating conditions, you
should see little or no smoke coming out of
the chimney. If continuous smoke is visible,
make sure only dry seasoned wood is be-
ing burned. If visible smoke continues, the
combustor has ceased to function or there
is thermal crumbling. Call FMI PRODUCTS,
LLC for replacement parts.
