Polycom V2IU5300-S is a network appliance that provides a secure and reliable way to connect video and voice devices to a network. It is designed for use in demanding environments, such as enterprise networks and service provider networks and provides comprehensive application-aware security.

The V2IU5300-S supports up to 25 Mbps of video, voice, or data traffic and has one 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet LAN interface; one 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet WAN interface and one 10/100Mbps Ethernet out-of-band management interface. It also has a stateful packet inspection firewall and an application layer gateway, which enables it to dynamically provision and close TCP and UDP ports as needed by video and voice endpoints.

Since the first IP-capable voice and video conferencing systems were released in the 1990's, organizations

Application Aware solution that resolves the NAT/Firewall issues
The V
2
IU performs video and voice NAT at the public/private IP address bound-
ary eliminating the security risks of traversal methods that tunnel or “hide”
video and voice traffic from existing perimeter security. It allows a single
public IP address to be used for multiple private LAN VoIP and video clients
Dynamically secures video and voice devices
A stateful packet inspection firewall is used in combination with an applica-
tion layer gateway to provide comprehensive application-aware security. This
approach enables the V

IU to dynamically provision and close TCP and UDP
ports as needed by the video and voice endpoints.
Optimizes the quality of video and voice calls
The V

IU forwards video and voice traffic the shortest path possible to mini-
mize jitter, latency and packet loss. It also provides traffic management to
ensure that high priority real time video and voice traffic is processed before
lower priority data traffic.

Ideal for SOHO and small-to-medium enterprise edge deployment, the 4300
series comes with 4 x 10/100Mbps Ethernet LAN interfaces; 1 x 10/100Mbps
Ethernet WAN interface or T1/E1 WAN. The 4300 series supports up to 3Mbps
of video, voice, or data traffic.
The 5300 series appliance is offered in configurations to support an enterprise
edge or a service provider edge includes 1 x 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet LAN
interface; 1 x 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet WAN interface and 1 x 10/100Mbps
Ethernet out-of-band management interface. The 5300 supports up to 25 Mbps
of video, voice, or data traffic.
Designed for demanding environments, the 6400 series is a dual, redundant
AC or DC power system offering 1 x 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet LAN inter-
face; 1 x 10/100/1000 Ethernet WAN interface and 1 x 10/100Mbps Ethernet
out-of-band management interface. The 6400 is offered in configurations to
support an enterprise edge or a service provider edge and supports up to
85 Mbps of video, voice, or data traffic.
