4. Overview of product
4.1 General
Thisisabidirectionalradiotransmissionsystemfor
connectingsafetydevicesforautomaticdoordrives.
Theradiocontactisbetweenareceiverunitwhichis
connectedtothedrivecontrolandatransmitterunitwhichis
attachedtothedoor.
Either
anenergy-savingoptoelectronic(lowpower)closingedge
safetydevice,
an8.2kΩresistanceswitchingstrip,or
aswitchingcontact
canbeconnectedtothetransmitterunit.
Eachreceiverunitcanmanageupto7transmitterunits.The
systemhasarangeofabout10metres.Theresponsetime
ofthesystemwhenaswitchingstripisactivatedislessthan
100 ms.
Itispossibletousemorethanoneradiotransmissionsystem
inabuildingprojectwithoutresultingininterferencebetween
the systems.
Thetransmitterunitsarebattery-poweredandunderideal
conditionshaveabatterylifeofabout2yearsiftwobatteries
areused.Intheeventofahighnumberofswitchingcycles,
orbadtransmittingconditionsoradverseweatherconditions,
thebatterywillhaveaconsiderablyshorterlife.
Itisrecommendedthatthebatteriesarereplacedduringthe
annualservice.

5.2 External inuences
Requirements
Toensureproperoperationofthesystem,thefollowing
conditionsmustbemet:
Theremustnotbeanymetalsurfacesbetweenthe
transmitterandthereceiver.
Theremustnotbeastrongmagneticeldorotherwireless
systemsinthedirectvicinityofthesystem.
Theremustbeadistanceofatleast1metrebetweenthe
transmitterandthereceiver.
ATTENTION!
Malfunctions due to external inuences!
Thesignaltransmissionsystemgenerallyhasarangeofat
least 10 metres.
Localconditionshowevercouldcauseareductioninthe
rangeeventothepointoftotalfailureofthesystem
(Examples:high-voltagelines,magneticelds,radio
masts,otherradiosystems,wallsandceilingsofreinforced
concrete,steelconstructionsinindustrialhalls,frequency-
controlledmachineryetc.).
5. Initial operation

systemontheMarantecgatecontrolsCS310andCS255
mustbeequippedwithan8.2kΩresistorandcongured
accordingly.

pointduetothe“missing”closingedgeprotectivedevice.
