SYSTEM FUNCTIONS
This wireless bi-directional system has been primarily designed for the regulation of heating. The
control unit fulfils the function of a wireless room thermostat. It controls the source of heat (e.g. a
heating panel) according to the temperature in the reference room in which it is placed, and
regulates the whole heating system according to the set programme. It can control up to 255
switching elements from one location. The control unit sends information about the required
temperature to the individual elements, and based on this information, each element then
controls the heating appliance to which it is connected.
BPT-SP switches the elements on one after the other (after approximately 1s), which
prevents a current surge in the network!

Normal operation of the heating system, without advance start-up of the heating.
Option 1 = switch on the heating early
This function will guarantee the required temperature at the required time.
You don’t need to consider when to switch on the heating so that it is warm when you get up
and yet ensure the heating is not used unnecessarily for a long time in advance. All you need
to do is programme when you wish to have the required temperature. BPT-SP will find the heat
constants of the room within two days and then it will switch on the heating in advance
accordingly. The period for this early start-up is limited to 2 hours.
Option 2 = summer mode
In this mode, the heating is prevented from switching on. It is used mainly in the summer
period when heating is not required. After the activation of this mode, the symbol " Ñ" will
appear on the display.
Note: The non-freeze protection ( 3° C ) remains functional. In this mode, the temperature
cannot be changed and the holiday mode cannot be set!
4. THE MINIMUM TIME OF OPERATION OF THE HEATING APPLIANCE DURING
HYSTERESIS

are skipped automatically.
When three horizontal dashes are selected using the +/- T buttons, PI regulation will be active.
6. TIME PERIOD OF PI REGULATION
Is to be selected within the range from 5 to 20 minutes. The length of this period is given by the thermal lag of the
room.
The optimum setting is 10 to 15 minutes.
7. THE MINIMUM TIME OF OPERATION OF THE HEATING APPLIANCE DURING PI
REGULATION
This is to be selected within a range from 1 to 5 minutes.
The setting depends on the type of heating system
and is dependent on the selection of the time
period for PI regulation.
We recommend setting it according to the table.
8. ZONE OF PROPORTIONALITY DURING PI REGULATION
This information determines the value from which PI regulation will start
functioning. For example, the required temperature is 22.0°C, and the zone
of proportionality is 1.5°C. Up to a temperature of 20.5°C, the source will
give out maximum heat. After this value has been achieved, PI regulation
will start functioning.
The zone of PROPORTIONALITY can be set from 1.5 do 3.0°C.
9. INDICATION THAT THE HEATING SYSTEM REQUIRES
MAINTENANCE
Set the date (day, month, year) when you want to be informed about the
necessity for routine servicing to be carried out on the heating source. On
the required day, the Udr symbol and

heating the necessary amount of time in advance. The time of advance start-up is automatically limited to 2 hours.
EXPLANATION OF HYSTERESIS (CONST 5)
The difference between the required and real temperature.
The hysteresis can be set from 0.1 to 1.5°C. If the hysteresis is1°C, and the required temperature 20°C, the
thermostat will switch off at 20°C and switch on again at 19°C (see the graph).
EXPLANATION OF THE PI REGULATION FUNCTION (CONST 6, 7, 8)
The principle of PI regulation consists in the comparison of the current temperature of the room with the
required temperature. Selection of function 6: When setting the time period, it is necessary to take into account the
thermal lag of the room. The optimum setting is 10-15 minutes. If there are frequent temperature fluctuations in the
room, selection of a shorter time period is recommended. The zone of proportionality states the value from which the
PI regulation will operate (Function 8).
