1 The Device
The Keypad allows the user to select from up to four different scenes/environments and operate
special functions in an ABB-free@home™ Smart Home system. It has 4 exchangeable keys.
The device does not directly control a load but instead commands other free@home
components to turn ON or OFF based on the configured settings. It has no built-in switch or
dimmer.
Note: The Keypad needs 120 VAC (hot and neutral wires).
1.1 Function Overview
When initially installed, the buttons have no meaning attached to them. Therefore, when
pressed, they will have no effect. To define what happens when a particular button is pressed,
the user will need to configure them within the System Access Point. For example, a
scene/environment could be configured to control the lighting, temperature, and music in a
particular room of the house. See Configuring the Keypad to program up to four
scenes/environments.

2 Adding the Keypad
This section describes how to add the Keypad to the system.
STEP 1: Install the Light Switch
Install the device by following the Operating Instructions included in the original packaging.
Note: After installation, the Keypad will not function. To configure the Keypad, it will need to be
added to the free@home network. If the Keypad has been assigned to a different SysAP, it will
need to be reset. Please see here for instructions.
STEP 2: Open configuration and search for the Keypad
Ensure that the SysAP is in Access Point mode by pressing the button on the SysAP. The
indicator light will turn solid blue. Connect to the SysAP by selecting it from the list in your
wireless network.
Once connected, open a browser and enter 192.168.2.1 in the address line.
If you have a tablet, use the free@home App.
Note: It is not possible to set up the Keypad by using a smartphone.
Log in as a user that has configuration rights.

back ON again to restart the 30 minutes.
The Keypad will be found automatically and will be inserted into the configuration software.
Please wait until the Keypad configuration is read. This may take up to 10 minutes.
STEP 3: Add the Keypad to the floor plan
A. Go To “Devices”.
B. Click on “Sensors”.
