outthemostcommonproceduresandtechniquesinvolvedinthe
safeoperationandmaintenanceofthewheelchair.Itisimportantto
practiceandmasterthesesafetechniquesuntilyouarecomfortable
inmaneuveringaroundthefrequentlyencounteredarchitectural
barriers.
Usethisinformationonlyasa“basic”guide.Thetechniquesthatare
discussedonthefollowingpageshavebeenusedsuccessfullybymany.
Usersandassistantsmustbeawarethatthehandlingand
maneuverabilitycharacteristicsoffrontwheeldrivewheelchairsare
