Operating Instructions
These operatinginstructionsapplytothe basic PowerTrain Lift used with theTiltTable, or the optional Universal
TransmissionAdapter,ortheoptionalFuelTankHandler.
Removal
1. Followthevehiclemanufacturer'srecommendedserviceprocedureforremovalofthecomponent.
2. PositionthePowerTrainLiftunderthevehicle.
3. Connectshopairsupplytothepump.(90PSIisneededtoraise1,250lbs.)TurnthePUMPleveronthepumpto
raisetheliftsoitjusttouchesthecomponent.Openingtheleverallthewayquicklyraisesthelift;joggingoropening
theleverslightlyraisestheliftslowly.
4. Adjusttheblocksonthetilttabletotthecomponenttoberemoved.Securetheblockstothemountingplateby
tighteningthenuts.(IfusingtheUniversalAdapterAssembly,adjustthesupportarmstotthepanange.Ifusing
theFuelTankHandler,adjustthepadstosupportthetank.)
5. Turntheadjustingscrewstoaligntheliftwiththecomponent.Raistthelifttothecorrectposition.
6. Placethestrapassemblyaroundthecomponent.Securelytightenthestraptothehookholes.
7. Removeanyremainingboltsinthecomponent.
8. LowerthePowerTrainLiftbyopeningandclosingtheRELEASE leveronce;thenholdingtheleveropen.Note: A ow
control valve controls the rate of descent. If a hose is cut or the pump malfunctions, the load will not drop suddenly.
9. Movetheliftoutfromunderthevehicle.
Installation
1. PositionthePowerTrainLiftunderthechassis.
2. Raisetheliftandturntheadjustingscrewstoalignthecomponentinthecorrectposition.
3. Followthevehiclemanufacturer'srecommendedserviceprocedureforinstallingthecomponent.
Maintenance
1. Useagoodgradelubricanttolubethepivotpoints(DetailsA,B,andC),adjustingscrews,andswivelcasters.
Hydraulic Pump Adjustments
CAUTION: To prevent the risk of personal injury, remove any load from the lift before adjusting levers.
PUMP Lever Adjustment
ThepumpshouldnotstartuntilthePUMP leverhasbeenmoved1/8turn.
1. Loosenthesetscrew(3)onthePUMPlever(4).Usingascrewdriver,
turntheadjustingscrew(1)clockwiseuntilthepumpbeginstorun.
2. Slowlyturntheadjustingscrewcounterclockwiseuntilthepumpstops
running.Backthescrewoutanother1/8ofaturn.Note: To keep the
return spring in place, keep the lever at a height of 9/32".
3. Tightenthesetscrewtoholdtheadjustment.
RELEASE Lever Adjustment
TheliftshouldnotstarttocomedownuntiltheRELEASE leverhasbeen
moved1/8turn.
1. Loosenthesetscrew(5)ontheRELEASE lever(6).
2. Startthepumpandraisethelifttoitshighestpositiontobuildhydraulic
pressureinthesystem.
3. Useascrewdrivertoturntheadjustingscrew(2)counterclockwiseuntil
pressureisreleased.Backthescrewoutanother1/8turn.Note: To
keep the return spring in place, keep the lever at a height of 9/32".
4. Tightenthesetscrewtoholdtheadjustment.
Note: If the lift doesn't hold pressure after you have adjusted levers, ush
the pump before making any further adjustments. Hold the RELEASE
lever open and start the pump several times.
