Package Contents sections. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble, install, or operate this
light xture.

Installation

Determining the mounting
location
NOTE: The light xture should be mounted approximately
8 ft. (2.4 m) above the ground.
□ Determine the mounting location – wall mount
only.
□ Position the lamp heads (A) in the general
direction of the desired light coverage.

Removing the mounting plate
NOTE: This xture comes with a mounting plate (D). It is
pre-assembled on the light xture (B) for shipping.
□ Press the bottom tab (1) of the wall mounting
plate (D) and slide the mounting plate (D) from
the light body (B).

Installing the mounting plate
NOTE: Make sure there is enough vertical space above
the mounting plate to allow the light xture to be mounted.
□ Place the mounting plate (D) against the wall
with the words “THIS SIDE OUT” facing away
from the wall (see illustration). Ensure the
mounting plate (D) is level. Mark the hole
locations.
□ If mounting to a wooden surface, drill two
3/32 in. holes into the mounting surface.
Install the two mounting screws (AA)
through the mounting plate (D) and into
the mounting surface.
□ If mounting to wall board or brick, drill two
7/32 in. holes into the mounting surface.
Insert the wall anchors (BB) and attach the
mounting plate (D) using the two mounting
screws (AA).

Removing the battery cover
□ Press up on the battery compartment cover (2)
locking tab (3) and swing the cover (2) out and
down to remove.

Installing the batteries
NOTE: Ensure the ribbon inside the battery compartment is located
behind the batteries and the loose end of the ribbon is accessible to
help remove the batteries when needed.
NOTE: To extend the life of the batteries, this light only
works in the dark (night time).
□ Install three, 1.5V “C” batteries (4) (not
included) into the battery compartment. Make
sure the polarity of the batteries is correct.
□ Replace the battery compartment cover (2).
□ See the Operation section for testing and
setup.

Using the OFF/AUTO switch
NOTE: The light will only operate at night.
□ Toggle the OFF/AUTO switch (5) to auto when
motion detection lighting is desired.
□ Toggle the OFF/AUTO switch (5) to off to turn
the light off and to conserve the battery life.

Mounting the light fixture
□ Slide the rear of the light xture (B) down onto
the mounting plate (D) until it snaps into place.

Operation

Adjusting the lamp heads
□ If needed, gently grasp the lamp heads (A) and
tilt them up or down or side to side to adjust
the light coverage area.

Determining the motion sensor
detection zone
NOTE: The motion sensor (C) is non-adjustable. It has a
sensing angle of 180° and a range of approximately 40 ft.
depending on the surrounding temperature.
NOTE: The motion sensor (C) will need to completely
warm up (60 seconds) before beginning the setup process.
The light will only operate at night.
□ Perform a “walk test”: walk in an arc across
the front of the motion sensor (C).
□ Watch the light (B). The light (B) will come on
indicating motion has been detected.
□ Stop, wait for the light (B) to turn off, and then
begin walking again.
□ Continue this process until the detection zone
has been established.
□ If the desired area to be covered is not within
the detection zone, relocate the light (B) to
cover the desired area.
Care and Cleaning
□ To prolong the original appearance, clean the light xture with clear water and a soft, damp cloth only.
□ Do not use paints, solvents, or other chemicals on this light xture. They could cause a premature
deterioration of the nish. This is not a defect in the nish and will not be covered by the warranty.
□ Do not spray the light xture with a hose or power washer.
□ If not to be used for several weeks, turn the unit OFF.

Troubleshooting
Problem Possible Cause Solution
The light will not come on. □ Batteries are dead. □ Replace the three “C” alkaline bat-
teries.
□ Daylight turn-off (photocell) is in
effect.
□ Recheck after dark.
□ Surrounding air temperature is
greater than 122° F (50° C) or less
than -4° F (-20° C).
□ Recheck when the surrounding air
temperature is within the specied
range.
The light comes on during
the day.
The light xture is mounted in a dark
location.
Relocate the light xture to an area that
receives more light.
The light comes on for no
apparent reason.
The motion sensor may be sensing
small animals, automobile trafc, or
other heat sources.
Reposition the light so the motion sensor
is positioned away from the area of
movement.
The lights stay on
continuously.
The motion sensor may be picking
up a heat source, such as an air vent,
dryer vent, or brightly painted, heat-
reective surface.
Relocate the light xture to an area away
from the heat source.
The lights ash on and off. □ The photocontrol may be sensing
shadows.
□ Relocate the light xture to an area
away from shadows.
□ Heat is being reected from other
objects and may be turning the
motion sensor on and off.
□ Relocate the light xture to an area

□ Si es necesario, sujete suavemente los
cabezales de la lámpara (A) e inclínelos hacia
arriba o hacia abajo o de lado a lado para
ajustar el área de cobertura de la luz.

Determinación de la zona
de detección del detector de
movimiento
NOTA: El detector de movimiento (C) no es regulable.
Tiene un ángulo de detección de 180° y un alcance de
aproximadamente 40 pies dependiendo de la temperatura
circundante.
NOTA: El detector de movimiento (C) necesitará
calentarse completamente (60 segundos) antes de
empezar el proceso de puesta a punto.
La luz sólo funcionará durante la noche.
□ Haga una “prueba caminando”: camine
transversalmente a la parte frontal del detector de
movimiento (C) siguiendo la trayectoria de un arco.
□ Observe la luz. La luz (B) se encenderá
indicando que el movimiento ha sido
detectado.

□ Continúe este proceso hasta que la zona de
detección haya sido establecida.

Cuidado y limpieza
□ Para prolongar la apariencia original, limpie la lámpara solo con agua limpia y un paño suave y húmedo.
□ No use pinturas, solventes ni otros químicos en este aparato de luz. Podrían ser la causa de una prematura
deterioración del acabado. Esto no es un defecto del acabado y no será cubierto por la garantía.
□ No rocíe la lámpara con una manguera o lavadora a presión.
□ Si no va a usar la por algunas semanas, APAGUE la unidad.
Análisis de averías

□ Revise de nuevo cuando la temperatura
del aire del entorno esté dentro del rango
especicado.
La luz se enciende

La lámpara está instalada en un lugar
oscuro.
Reubique la lámpara a un área que reciba
más luz.
La luz se enciende sin
razón aparente.
El detector de movimiento puede
detectar animales pequeños, tráco
de automóviles u otras fuentes de
calor.
Vuelva a ubicar la lámpara de manera que el
detector de movimiento esté posicionado fuera
del área de movimiento.
Las luces permanecen
encendidas constante-
mente.
El detector de movimiento puede
estar absorbiendo calor de una fuente
de calor como una ventosa de aire,
una secadora de aire, o una supercie
pintada con colores brillantes y que
reeja el calor.
Reubique la lámpara a un área alejada de la
fuente de calor.
Las luces se encienden
y se apagan.
□ El fotocontrol puede estar detec-
tando sombras.
□ Reubique la lámpara a un área alejada de
las sombras.
□ El calor reejado desde otro
objeto puede estar encendien-
do y apagando al detector de
movimiento.
□ Reubique la lámpara a un área alejada de
la fuente de calor.
