Congratulations, you have taken the first step to get rid of carpenter bees!
Remember that these traps work great during early and middle spring. Once the
average temperature is between 90-95 the traps will become less effective. Once
the temperature drops below 80 it is time to store them until next spring.
The next step in completely removing carpenter bees is repairing the existing
holes. Check out our Bee Dams at www.carpenterbeetraps.com for more
information.
Instructions:
1) Mount, hang, or sit AS CLOSE as possible to where the bees are already
making holes. The bees must see the trap in order for it to work.
1) If hanging, the trap SHOULD NOT be able to move.
2) When jar fills up discard the bees.
1) If releasing live bees take entire trap at least 1 mile away and
release the live bees there and return trap to original position.
If the trap has not caught any bees within two weeks move trap to a
new location. LOCATION is the most important factor.
Warning:
Carpenter bees can hurt you. Do not try to handle live bees.
Do not eat carpenter bees.
Do not hang in trees or other vegetation (the bees will not go into the trap).
Do not paint, stain, or water treat trap within 3 months of intended use.
Don’t forget the Bee Dams!
