Safetyandhandlingofthewheelchairrequirestheclose
attentionofthewheelchairuseraswellastheassistant.
Thismanualpointsoutthemostcommonproceduresand
techniquesinvolvedinthesafeoperationandmaintenance
ofthewheelchair.Itisimportanttopracticeandmaster
thesesafetechniquesuntilyouarecomfortablein
maneuveringthewheelchair.
Usersandassistantsmustbeawarethatthehandling
andmaneuverabilitycharacteristicsofthewheelchairare
inherentlydifferentbasedonthedrivewheellocation.
Handlingandmaneuverabilitydifferenceswillbemost
noticeablewhentravelingdowndeclines(Example:ramps
