Calibrate my printer
Printer: HP Designjet Z2100/Z3100 series
Software: EFI Designer Edition for HP
Operating System: Windows
The color calibration must be performed whenever:
A printhead is changed.
A new combination of paper type and print mode is loaded which has not been previously
calibrated with the current set of printheads.
The environmental conditions change (for example, temperature or humidity).
You notice deterioration in the quality of your prints or large quantities of plots have been
printed since the last calibration.
You can start the color calibration from:
The front panel (Image Quality Maintenance menu icon > Calibrate color).
The printer alert that recommends the calibration.
The HP Easy Printer Care.
The EFI Designer Edition for HP:
1. To start the calibration process, load your paper into the printer and launch the EFI
Designer Edition software.
2. Click Preferences:
Select Color tab:
o Paper name: Select the paper type that is loaded in the printer.
o Print quality: Select the quality in which you are going to print.
Select Printer > Calibration tab and click New....
2
3. A calibration test chart is printed, which contains patches of each ink used in your
printer.
The printer will print and measure this linearization target and calculate the
necessary correction factors to apply for consistent color printing on the paper type. It
also calculates the maximum amount of each ink that can be applied to the paper.
3
The color calibration is complete. You can check if your media type and print mode have
already been calibrated under Preferences > Printer > Calibration.
