To season your new cooktop follow these simple steps:
• Wipe the cooktop with warm soapy water to clean it.
• Using a cloth or paper towel, rub the surface with oil (olive
or avacado work well) making sure to cover the entire
surface with a smooth, even, thin coat.
• Light a re!
• As the re builds, distribute the fuel (charcoal or wood)
around the underside of the cooktop so the top heats fully
and completely.
• Keep applying oil until the entire surface is blackened and
seasoned.
• After each use, apply foodsafe oil to the cooktop to keep
it seasoned and avoid surface oxidization.
