PRODUCT INFORMATION - SCOPE OF DELIVERY
ad notam introduces the DSTB-IPTV, a slim smart TV box that turns any ad notam monitor system to a multifunctional
smart TV, a movie player, a music player and/or a picture viewer. Besides, you may browse the internet, answer E-Mails and
join your friends on social media platforms. It is ready to interact with all models of the ad notam Display Frame Unit (DFU)
line and any monitor system that features an HDMI input port. Before using the device please check the following
contents of the box for completeness:

GETTING STARTED - HOW TO CONNECT
ad notam DFU monitor system
Connect an HDMI cable to the HDMI output terminal of the digital set top box and one of the three HDMI inputs of
the DFU.
IR emitter LED
In order to use the integrated IR receiver of a combined DFU monitor system connect the IR emitter LED (ET_541) to
the IR output port of the DFU monitor system and glue it in front of the IR receiver eye window of the DSTB-IPTV.
Ethernet LAN
The DSTB-IPTV is equipped with an internal built-in 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi module. Use this port once you choose to
connect to your network via wire. Both options (Wi-Fi and Ethernet) may be (de-)activated independently within the
Settings menu or during the Installation Wizard at initial setup.
External USB media source
Connect an external USB media source to one of the USB sockets in order to install a software update or to run a
media content from the USB device. In order to have access to the USB ports also after installation, we recommend
installing USB extension cables.
USB mouse or keyboard
Connect a mouse or keyboard to one of the USB sockets to facilitate the handling of the DSTB-IPTV. In order to have
access to the USB ports also after installation, we recommend installing USB extension cables.

GETTING STARTED - START UP
Connect the provided power adapter to the DSTB-IPTV
and plug the other end into an outlet. Upon power
connection the DSTB-IPTV will boot up.
The Boot Screen comes up with the Android robot, the
Loading Screen shows the Android logo.
Upon your first startup of the DSTB-IPTV the Installation
Wizard will be displayed automatically.
Navigation
Use the Cursor keys and Back key of your remote
control to navigate the user interface. Alternatively you
may connect a mouse and/or keyboard to facilitate
the handling of the DSTB-IPTV.
Execute the Next button to continue with the setup of
the DSTB-IPTV.

Language
The Installation Wizard will ask you to select your
preferred language. Once done execute the Next button
to continue.
Display Position
On demand you may adapt the image position and size.
Follow the instructions to zoom or change the Display
Position.

GETTING STARTED - INSTALLATION WIZARD
In order to be able to use all functions the DSTB-IPTV
box needs a connection to a network. This might be
accomplished with either a wired Ethernet or a wireless
Wi-Fi connection. If you want to integrate the DSTB-IPTV
into a wireless network only or if you don´t want to
setup a connection to a network at all, you may skip this
section by executing the Next button.
Ethernet Configuration
If you choose to connect via Ethernet, plug the network
cable to the RJ45 port of the DSTB-IPTV box and activate
Ethernet within the Ethernet Configuration. If you
are using basic DHCP settings for your router, the
DSTB-IPTV will automatically connect to your network.
You can also manually configurate your network setting.
Once the DSTB-IPTV box is connected to the network,
the icon in the bottom right corner of the screen will
show two green monitors.

In order to be able to use all functions, the DSTB-IPTV
needs a connection to a network. This might be
accomplished with either a wired Ethernet or a wireless
Wi-Fi connection. If you have already established a
connection via Ethernet in the last step of the Installation
Wizard or if you don´t want to setup a connection to a
network at all, you may skip this section by executing the
Next button.
Wi-Fi Configuration
The DSTB-IPTV has a built-in wireless feature. To activate
it, go to Wi-Fi and toggle the switch in the upper right
hand corner to ON. The system will begin to scan for
available networks and generate an according list.
Select the network of your choice and if required, enter
the according password. Then execute the Connect
button.
It is recommended to stay on this page until the status
changes from Authenticating to Connected. Once the
DSTB-IPTV is connected to the network, the icon in the
bottom right hand corner of the screen will show two
green monitors. The signal bar besides indicates the
strength of the Wi-Fi signal.

The setup of the DSTB-IPTV is now almost complete.
Execute Finish to close the Installation Wizard.
Now you will be given the option of choosing the home
launcher. Please select the ad notam Metro icon.
Subsequently execute Always to set the ad notam
Metro launcher as your home screen. Once done the
ad notam home launcher will be displayed.
From the home screen, you have several options in the
form of six menu headers. Scroll left or right to display
the according content of the highlighted menu. The
menu headers are Home, Media Player, Online Media,
Game, All Apps and Settings.

LAUNCHER MENU
The Home menu features different quick launch icons
such as links to the App Store, Facebook or the internet
Browser. The App Store (Google Play) is your online
marketplace for app and media downloads. After
registration you can download apps, movies, music
etc. The Facebook icon is a shortcut to the Facebook
website. Use the Browser to surf the web. If you haven´t
connected a USB mouse and/or keyboard the remote
control is your input device also for the Browser. To
navigate on the pages use the cursor keys on the remote
control. Press OK to click a link or to input into a field.
A soft keyboard will be displayed on the screen that
enables you to enter letters and numbers. The Home
menu additionally features a File Manager and a Media
Center.
Media Player
The Media Player menu is a customizable page and
features a Movie Player, a Music Player and a Picture
Viewer in order to play videos or songs and to display
fotos. Add any media player app from the All Apps menu.
Online Media
The Online Media menu is a customizable page for
favorite online services and/or apps. Add any online
media app of your choice from the All Apps menu.

Game
The Game menu is a customizable page for game apps.
Add any game app of your choice from the All Apps
menu.
All Apps
The All Apps menu gives an overview of all installed
apps and services on the DSTB-IPTV.
You might add a shortcut of any app from the All Apps
list to a matching menu category. In order to do so,
navigate to the app in question, then press and hold the
OK button until a pop-up window appears. Select the
desired menu category and confirm with OK.
To remove a shortcut from a menu category navigate to
the app in question within the according menu category,
then press and hold the OK button until a pop-up window
appears. Select Yes to remove the shortcut from the
menu category.

Settings
Within the Settings menu, you can set preferences and
enable or disable functions. The most relevant settings
have already been treated during the Installation
Wizard. The Settings menu features different quick
launch icons such as links to the Network, the Display
Position or the Wallpaper settings. In addition you
might adapt the Input Methods, the Output Mode and
Uninstall Apps.
