Section2a:CreateCDLPrintFiles(SamecutfileorPre‐diecut/CX1000)



UsethismethodifalllabelsinthebatcharethesamesizeorifyouareprintingtotheCX1000

onPre‐diecutlabelstock.(See2bfordifferentsizelabels)



1.UsePTPrinttolayoutembedded.cdlfiles.Thisprocedurewouldbeexactlythesameasa

normalnon‐batchprinttotheCX1200/CX1000.Followtheinstructionsinthemanual.



However,eachlabelcreatedforabatchmusthavethesamepagelengthsandthesame

layoutspecifications.



Forexample,

ifyourfirstlayoutisa3”x4”labelarrayedwithtwocolumnsandthreerowswith

0.125”spacingbetweenlabelshorizontallyandvertically,alllabelscreatedforthisbatchshould

conformtothesamespecifications.



CX1000 ColorLabelPrinter

2.ImportthesamesizedimagefileintoPTPrintforeachlabelinyourbatch.PTPrintwill

automaticallyrepeatthespecificationsincludingthepagesizeofthefirstimportedimagefor

eachsubsequentlabelcreated.



Tobesureeachlabelinyourbatchisthesameverifyallsettingsarethesameinthesetup

wizardbeforeclickingOK.Theonlydifferenceshouldbethelabelsourcefileusedshownat

thetopofthewizard.



Toveritythepagesize,findtheBlankSize…undertheLayoutmenu.



3.SaveeachCDLfileandanembeddedFile…



4.Finally,createacutfile.(SkipthisstepifprintingtoaCX100)SaveitwiththeCDLfile.You

willusethiscutfileforallofthelabelsinthebatchwhenyoucutthemontheFX1200.



Note:Aslongasthepagesizeandalllayoutspecificationsarethesameforeachlabelinthe

batch,youwillonlyneedtocreateonecutfile.



Section2b:CreateCDLPrintFiles(Usedifferentcutfiles)



Usethismethodiflabelsinthebatcharedifferentsizes.



1.UsePTPrinttolayoutembedded.cdlfiles.Thisprocedurewouldbeexactlythesameasa

normalnon‐batchprinttotheCX1200/CX1000.Followtheinstructionsinthemanual.



However,eachlabelcreatedforabatchmusthavethesamepagelengths.



Toveritythepagesize,findtheBlankSize…undertheLayoutmenu.



2.SaveeachCDLfileandanembeddedFile…



3.Finally,createacutfile.SaveitwitheachCDLfile.NamethecutfilethesameastheCDL

fileexceptthepltextensionwhichisautomaticallyadded.Ifyouevermovethemtoanew

location,keepthecutfilewiththeprintfile.





Usethismethodifalllabelsinthebatcharethesamesize.



1.OpenthestatusmonitorandclickontheBatchPrinttab.Ifitisnotalreadyopen,PTPrintwill

openinthebackgroundwhentheBatchPrinttabisselected.Cancelthewizarddialogthat

appearsbutleavePTPrintopen!



2.DraganddropalloftheembeddedfilesyoucreatedforthebatchrunintotheBatchPrint

window.



3.Setthenumberofcopiesforeachfile.Rememberthenumberofcopieswillnotnecessarily

correspondtothenumberoflabels.



4.Adjusttheprintorderusingthearrowbuttons.



5.ClickGotostarttheprintjob.



6.TocutthisbatchjobontheFX1200,useanyoneofthe cutfilescreatedforeachCDLfile.As

longasthepagesizeandalllayoutspecificationsarethesameforeachlabelinthebatch,any

oneofthecutfileswillwork.(DoesnotapplytoCX1000)



Section3b:PrintingusingBatchPrint(Usedifferentcutfiles)



Usethismethodiflabelsinthebatcharedifferentsizes.



1.Beforeopeningthestatusmonitor,changethesettingsinthefollowingconfigurationfile:



C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\PrimeraTechnology\PTPrint\CX1200Test.exe.config(Windows7)

C:\ProgramFiles\PrimeraTechnology\PTPrint\CX1200Test.exe.config(WindowsXP)



2.Rightclickonthefileandchoose“edit”or“openwith…Notepad”.



Editthefollowingkeystothevaluesshown.Thesekeysarelocatedneartheendofthefile:



openinthebackgroundwhentheBatchPrinttabisselected.Cancelthewizarddialogthat

appearsbutleavePTPrintopen!



4.DraganddropalloftheembeddedfilesyoucreatedforthebatchrunintotheBatchPrint

window.



5.Setthenumberofcopiesforeachfile.Rememberthenumberofcopieswillnotnecessarily

correspondtothenumberoflabels.



6.Adjusttheprintorderusingthearrowbuttons.



7.ClickGotostarttheprintjob.



8.TocutthisbatchjobontheFX1200,usethecombinedcutfilewitha*.ptipextensionthat

willbecreatedinc:\cutfile\folderafteryouclick“Go”.Useitinsteadoftheindividualcutfiles

tocutyourbatchjobontheFX1200.



Note:Whencuttingthebatchjobusingthismethoditisveryimportanttostartthecutjob

ontheveryfirstpageofthebatchprintingjob.ThiswayPTFinishwillincrementtothenext

cutinthebatchjobatthecorrectlocation.Thenumberofprintedcopiesisimbeddedinto

theptipcutfilesandwillbeautomaticallysetinPTFinish.Toadjustcutdepthandoffset

values,simplyopenthecoverofthecuttertopausethejob,adjustthevaluesandthen

closethecovertocontinue.Donotadjustthenumberofcopiesorstopthejob.Thecorrect

incrementedcutfilelocationwillbelost!


