Windows 10 Restore
InFocus recommends that you never perform a Windows 10 restore/recovery since the
recovery process does not take the Windows 10 back to its original state and leaves many of
the Windows 10 Upgrades packages still installed.
Issue:
Resetting/Restoring the WIN10 OS on Mondopad units causes the Mondopad application suite to not
properly reinstall. Many times the process corrupts or uninstalls .Net Framework which breaks the link
to the SQL database.
Solution:
If having issues with the Mondopad Application suite uninstall all Mondopad applications from the
Control Panel by exiting the Mondopad application. Then from the Windows Desktop go to the
c:\Application\Mondopad folder and run “uninstall.exe”. This will uninstall the Mondopad applications.
Then delete the c:\Zoos\Client and c:\Zoos\Server folder and their contents. Now reinstall the FSP which
should be located in the c:\InFocus\Mondopad\Updates folder. Note the latest version and go into that
folder and extract the Zip file. Change to the unzipped folder and run “Setup.exe”.
Do not reinstall using the MPIK unless the SQL database appears to be corrupted and in this case
uninstall the SQL application in the Control Panel. Reboot the PC then reinstall using the MPIK. Note the
MPIK will install the latest version of the FSP at the end of the installation process. (MPIK available
through http://infocus.com/resources/Software/MPIK1018v0.exe )
What to do if already run Windows 10 Restore/Recovery:
If the WIN10 Restore/Recovery has been run and there is a “Windows.old” file in the c:\ folder
Uninstall all of the Mondopad and SQL Server Applications.
If the SQL server uninstall fails due to missing Microsoft .NET Framework let the SQL uninstall option
reinstall .Net to proceed. Once .Net is installed then uninstall SQL applications.
Then delete all folders inside of the c:\Zoos folder except c:\Zoos\db and c:\Zoos\files folders. Now run
the MPIK pre-installer
(MPIK available through http://infocus.com/resources/Software/MPIK1018v0.exe )
