Introduction
Congratulations on the purchase of your Jaeger
LeCoultre watch, and thank you for your confidence.
A fruit of this shared philosophy, the AMVOX2 DBS
Transponder model manufactured by Jaeger‑LeCoultre is ex‑
clusively aimed at owners of an Aston Martin DBS. They will
be able to activate and deactivate their car’s door locking
system by pressing on the watch’s sapphire crystal, as well as
use the vertical‑trigger chronograph functions.
Please check out the operating instructions for your
Jaeger‑LeCoultre timekeeper: we hope that you will be very
happy with it.
JaegerLeCoultre & Aston Martin
There is no chance involved, just a meeting of minds. Jaeger
LeCoultre, a benchmar k icon of fine watchmaking, and Aston Mar tin,
a legendary brand and symbol par excellence of fine car engineer
ing, were made for each other. No other field than car “engineer
ing” could so effectively illustrate the sacred union dear to Jaeger
LeCoultre: tradition and pioneering. And this compelling need to
gain the approval of fine watchmaking and fine engineering could
only be achieved with another legendary brand: Aston Martin.
On the strength of a shared history and parallel assets, their
coming together was founded on respect for values and a
constant quest for technical and aesthetic perfection. Each
watch and each car are crafted with special care, in accord‑
ance with traditional rules, while using the most modern tech‑
nologies. It is the passion and taste for precision that make
these two such different worlds so similar, and remain at the
cutting edge of technology, while exhibiting the highest level
of integrity. These two brands were destined to come togeth‑
er under the same passion: meeting challenges.
Accuracy
Manual or automatic winding mechanical models
The accuracy of the mechanical movement watch models
is determined by the balance. The latter performs 21,600 or
28,800 vibrations per hour, depending on the model (see tech
nical specifications applicable to each model).
Despite all the care with which the Manufacture Jaeger‑Le‑
Coultre master watchmakers have made and assembled your
watch, its accuracy is subject to the influence of gravity, mag
netic fields, impacts and ageing of the oils. Watch accuracy is
measured by rate regularity in a variety of positions.
The nature of your constitution or lifestyle may lead to slight
irregularities. If you observe irregular running of your watch,
you are advised to take it to an authorised Jaeger‑LeCoultre
retailer, who will make any necessary adjustments.
Water‑resistance
JaegerLeCoultre AMVOX2 DBS Transponder watches are
waterresistant to 5 bar/atm. The waterresistance of your
watch can be identified by the symbol engraved on
the back. This means that you can use your watch during short
swims or when diving in from the edge, but not from a diving
board. Nor should it be used for undersea diving or for sports
where there are significant risks of hard knocks, such as wind
surfing and waterskiing. Please also note that leather straps
are not suited to water sports.
Furthermore, it is essential to have your watch’s waterresistance
checked by an authorised JaegerLeCoultre retailer at least
once every 2 years, and definitely before any period in which it
will undergo prolonged and/or regular immersion.

«1000 Hours Control» test
by Jaeger‑LeCoultre
Jaeger‑LeCoultre subjects each of its watches to the rigourous
“1000 Hours Control” test programme. Unique in its kind,
this programme consists of 1000 hours of comprehensive,
stringent checks.
The “1000 Hours Control” seal or marking affixed or engraved
on the back of your watch certifies that it has undergone
this observation programme in our laboratories and has
passed all the tests, relating to rate regularity, temperature
and atmospheric pressure, resistance to impacts and magnetic
fields, as well as water‑resistance. Your watch is therefore
capable of withstanding the trials awaiting it in everyday life
when you wear it on your wrist.
The criteria of the “1000 Hours Control” programme go far
beyond the official timekeeping test standards, which concern
only part of the movement JaegerLeCoultre tests not only the
movement before casing it within the watch, but also the watch
as a whole.
Built‑in transponder for the DBS car
The AMVOX2 DBS Transponder has a builtin transmitter micro
system for activating and deactivating the doorlocking system
of the Aston Martin DBS sports car, which has been expressly
connected to it by an authorised Aston Martin dealership.
Pressing on the watch crystal’s OPEN position (between
8 and 9 o’clock) will activate the door opening system, while
the same action on the CLOSE position between 3 and
4 o’clock will lock the doors of the connected vehicle.
Security
The watch transponder serves a transmission function
only. This means that the code transmitted by the watch
microsystem can only be read by a vehicle with the
appropriate reading protocol, which has been expressly
enabled to use this protocol by an authorised Aston Martin
dealership.
On delivery, AMVOX2 DBS Transponder watches produced
by Jaeger‑LeCoultre come with a secured coding protocol,
but at this stage it cannot work since it is not connected
to any system or any car. The watch’s owner has the choice
and responsibility to visit the nearest Aston Martin dealership
to have the connection between the watch and the car
activated. Only Aston Martin dealerships are authorised to
enable or disenable this pairing.
Should the watch be lost or the owner decide to stop using
the watch’s locking/unlocking function, the transponder may
be immediately locked by the Aston Martin dealership at the
owner’s request, and at their sole responsibility.
No starting function
Under the strict conditions stated above, the AMVOX2
DBS Transponder watch may only activate and deactivate
the door locking system of the connected car. Under no
circumstances does it incorporate a starting function for the
car’s engine. The Aston Martin ignition key accompanying the
car is needed to start the engine.
Important note
You are reminded that the AMVOX2 DBS Transponder
watch and its locking/unlocking function are placed under
your own responsibility. You are strongly advised to observe
the elementary security rules and visually check that the
doors are properly closed.
Battery
The transponder’s electronic circuit works with a battery
reference CR1616. If you observe a malfunction or failure
of the unlocking and locking functions, please entrust the
watch to a Jaeger‑LeCoultre or Aston Martin authorised
representative, according to the terms of the international
guarantee.
Operation
The transponder system comprises a microsystem housed
on the back of the watch and an antenna. The antenna is built
into the internal surface of the watch’s sapphire crystal (via a
method known as metallisation). Its shape graphically blends
in with the ring and hour‑markers between 4 and 8 o’clock,
ending at these points via vehicle locking control contact
blocks: OPEN to unlock and CLOSE to lock.
Unlike the vertical‑trigger chronograph, which is activated by
turning the case/bezel assembly, activating or deactivating the
locking system does not involve moving the watch case. It is
done by pressing the OPEN and CLOSE zones with a finger.
The transponder range is equivalent to a maximum distance
of around 10 metres between the car and the watch.

Movement
Using the time and chronograph
functions
Starting the watch
Crown in position 1
A few clockwise turns of the crown will suffice to start the
watch. It will then automatically wind up when you wear it.
Please note that the crown does not lock when winding, even
when the watch is fully wound.
Setting the hour and minute
Pull the crown out to position 3.
This locks the movement. The seconds hand will also stop.
Move the hands clockwise up to the desired time and push the
crown back into position 1. The watch will then start running again.
Date setting (fast forward)
Pull the crown out to position 2.
Move the date forward by turning the crown counter
clockwise. Perform the required number of turns until the
desired date is displayed in the window.
NB: date correction should not be performed between 10.30
p.m. and 3.30 a.m. During this period the automatic date-
change mechanism is already in action.
When the operation is completed, push the crown back into
position 1.
Pushpiece‑free vertical‑trigger chronograph
The AMVOX2 DBS Transponder watch has created a
revolution with its vertical‑trigger chronograph, activated by
tilting the case, and patented by Jaeger‑LeCoultre.
The characteristic pushpieces of the chronograph mechanism
have disappeared. In their place, an ingenious mechanism
allows the chronograph to be started, stopped and reset
by merely pressing directly on the watch’s sapphire crystal.
Pressing the crystal tilts the case on its “chassis” mounting
and, by means of the ingenious transmission levers that form
the heart of the mechanism, activates or deactivates the
chronograph functions.
Jaeger‑LeCoultre Calibre 751E.

AMVOX2 dBs Transponder ‑ English 3/6
The chronograph is started and stopped by pressing on the
crystal at 12 o’clock, while the counters are reset by pressing
on the crystal in similar fashion, this time at 6 o’clock.
Operation of the chronograph and timing functions
The central direct‑drive seconds hand of the AMVOX2
DBS Transponder displays the chronograph seconds with an
eighth‑of‑a‑second definition. A counter at 3 o’clock times the
minutes up to 30 minutes (after 1 turn, it continues to count
another 30 minutes). Another counter at 9 o’clock times the
hours up to 12 hours (after one turn, it continues to count
another 12 hours).
The chronograph function is started and stopped by press‑
ing on the crystal at 12 o’clock. Thus, by pressing once on
the crystal at 12 o’clock, the chronograph is activated. The
central direct‑drive seconds hand will turn, and the minute
and hour timing counters will run. Pressing on the crystal
again at 12 o’clock stops the chronograph and enables the
elapsed time to be read.
Pressing on the crystal at 6 o’clock resets the counters
and the central direct‑drive seconds hand. When timing is
in progress, pressing it has no effect.
Note: It is possible to add up several timing results by press‑
ing again on the crystal at 12 o’clock (without resetting the
counters). Timing will restart, added on to the previously
measured time.
Locking the chronograph functions
To prevent any inadvertent use of the chronograph functions,
your AMVOX2 DBS Transponder watch is equipped with a
locking device on the left‑hand flank of the case.
In its central position, you can use all the chronograph functions.
To lock all the chronograph functions (start, stop, reset), push
the locking device upward. If you then press on the crystal at 6
o’clock or 12 o’clock, since tilting movements are limited, all the
chronograph functions are locked.
To lock only the chronograph reset function, e.g. to measure
cumulative times without risking an inadvertent reset, push the
device downward. By pressing on the crystal at 12 o’clock, you
can start and stop timing. However, if you try to press on the
crystal at 6 o’clock, since the tilting movement in this position
is limited, the reset function is locked.
Using the transponder (unlocking and
locking the connected DBS car)
Please consult beforehand the terms of use and the explana‑
tions in the chapter “Built‑in transponder for the DBS” in the
introductory section.
To unlock the vehicle doors, press on the OPEN contact
zone, situated between 8 and 9 o’clock on the watch’s sap‑
phire crystal.
To lock the vehicle doors, press on the CLOSE contact zone,
situated between 3 and 4 o’clock on the watch’s sapphire
crystal.
Please note that these actions do not make any audible signal,
or cause any movement of the sapphire crystal or case.
