Setting the switching points
The PE2 is in the programming mode:
1. Press to show the SP1 menu item.
2. Press to be able to set the switching point SP1.
3. Set the desired switching point using and .
The following applies: | RPx | < | SPx |, | SPx ≠ 0 at 0-16 bar|, |FLx < FHx|
If SPx/FHx is adjusted and this adjustment causes SPx < RPx or FHx<FLx, then RPx or FLx is
automatically set to the smallest value possible.
During adjustment, the adjustment of SPx or FHx is decisive:
W If SPx/FHx > 0 bar, then RPx/FLx = 0% FS to SP -0.5% FS
W If SPx/FHx < 0 bar, then RPx/FLx = SP + 0.5% FS to 100% FS
4. Confirm the set value by pressing .
The display returns to the menu level.
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 to set the resetting point RP1, switching point SP2 and resetting point
RP2, one after the other.
After you have entered the last switching point, you can go back to display mode by
simultaneously pressing and , or select the EF menu and press to reach the EF
extended programming functions.
Configuring the switched output
The PE2 is in the EF extended programming functions.
Setting the switch-on and reset delay

5. Repeat steps 2 and 3.
Setting the switching element function
1. Select the menu item OU1, OU2, or OUA.
2. Press to enable selecting the switching element function.
3. Select the desired switching element function with the or button.
4. Press to accept the selected switching element function.
Using the password function
You can protect the PE2 from unintended access by entering a password. If a password has been
assigned, settings can only be changed if the password is entered.
Assigning a new password or changing a password
The PE2 is in the EF extended programming functions.
1. Press to show the PASS menu item.
2. Press to switch to the password activation.
3. Press and select YES.
4. Press to activate password protection.
The display switches to the password entry screen.
5. With and , select a four-digit password.
6. Confirm the set password by pressing briefly.
The display then returns to the menu level.
Password protection becomes active when you leave the programming mode or when no entry
is made within 10 s.
Deactivating password protection
1. Press .
A prompt indicates that protection mode is activated.
2. Press to enter the password.
The display switches to the password entry screen.
3. Enter and , the password, or the master password, and confirm you entry with .
If you have entered the correct password or master password, the display switches to the
password deactivation screen.
4. Press and select YES.
5. Confirm the deactivation by pressing briefly.
Programming mode is exited automatically.
Resetting previously set parameters
The PE2 is in the EF extended programming functions.
1. Select the RES menu item and press .
2. Select the YES setting with the or button.
3. Press the button to confirm the selection.
All parameters now reflect the factory settings.
7 Service and Maintenance
The transfer characteristics of the PE2 remain stable over a long period of time.
This means that regular adjustment or maintenance is not necessary.
The password 2677 is set as the master password.
With NO, you turn off the password function.

8 Disassembly and Exchange
1. Make sure that the system is not under voltage or pressure.
2. Loosen and remove all connections.
3. Loosen the pressure switch from the (threaded) pressure connection using a wrench, or pull
the PE2 straight out of the push-in fitting.
4. Dispose of the packaging and used parts in accordance with the regulations of the country
where used.
9 Error and Warning Messages
The following error and warning messages may appear in the display of your PE2.

CAUTION
System is under high pressure!
Danger of injury and system damage from uncontrolled system operating states.
O Make sure that the system component the PE2 is installed in is not under pressure or
voltage before beginning disassembly.
