Thisstopstheburnerworkingshouldthehydrauliccircuitoverheatasaresultofananomalyinthe
temperatureadjustmentsystem.
•BurnerControl.
Thisstopstheburnerworkingshouldthecombustionamegoout.
•Pressurecontrol/adjustmentvalve
ThisvalveiscalibratedbytheManufacturersothattheoperatingpressurecanbeadjustedusingthe
knob(8).Itenablesthepumpedliquidtoreturntothepumpssuctionunit,preventingthedevelopment
ofdangerouspressurelevelswhenthegunisclosedorwhenapressurevalueissetoverthemaximum
level allowed.
•Dry-runningcontrol.
Thispreventsthepossibilityoftheburnerrunningwithoutwater.
•GunLeverBlockingDevice.

• Whentheengineisoandthemachineiscompletelycold,checkthelevelofpumpoilbywayofthe
levelindicator(42).Alsocheckthelevelofoilinthegearboxonthelevelindicator(38).

STANDARD OPERATION WITH HOT WATER AT HIGH PRESSURE
• Ensurethatthedevice(37)isnotinthelowpressureposition(Fig.4-a).
• Unscrewthecap(7)andllthetankwithautomotivegasoil,makingsurethefueldoesnotspillover.We
recommendusingafunnelreservedexclusivelyforthispurpose(maximumtankcapacity30l/7,9USgal).
Replace the cap.
• Starttheengine,referringtotherelevantoperatingandmaintenancemanual.
• Openthewatersupplycock.
• Moveknob(28)intoposition

• Setthetemperaturebetween0°C/0°Fand110°C/230°Fusingthetemperatureadjustmentknob(41).
• Pressthecleanergunlever(22)andcheckthenozzlesprayisevenwithoutdripping.

Directive97/23/ECforpressureequipment(PED).Thecompliancewiththisrequirementisassuredbya
specialelectronicdevicethatconstantlychecks:
• thatfortemperaturesabove110°C/230°F,thepressuresetisbelow32bar/464psi;
• thatforpressuresabove32bar/464psi,thetemperaturesetisnogreaterthan110°C/230°F.
Iftheabovelimitsareexceeded,theburnerstopsandthewarninglight(48)comeson.
Steamoperationwillonlyresumeifthepressureisreducedtobelow32bar/464psi.
• Unscrewthecap(7)andllthetankwithautomotivegasoil,makingsurethefueldoesnotspillover.We
recommendusingafunnelreservedexclusivelyforthispurpose(maximumtankcapacity30l/7,9USgal).

OPERATION WITH DETERGENT
TheManufacturerrecommendstheuseofdetergentswhichareatleast90%biodegradable.
Refertothelabelonthedetergentforinstructionsonhowtouseit.
Thehigh-pressurewatercleanersoftheFDX HOT CUBEseriescandispensedetergentonlythanksto
somespecicaccessories.
Formoreinformationpleaserefertothedocumentationthatcomeswiththeseaccessories.
OPERATION WITH WATER SOFTENER
Thehigh-pressurewatercleanersoftheFDX HOT CUBEserieshaveaneectivewatersoftener,standard
supply,thatpreventsscaleformingwhenusingthecleanerwithhotwater.
• Carryoutthestepsdescribedinthe
“STOP”
paragraph.
• Unscrewthecap(9)andllthetank(maximumcapacity2l/0.53USgal)beingcarefulnottoletanyliquid
spillout(werecommendusingafunnel-andkeepingitjustforthispurpose);screwthecapbackdown
andcheckthelevelperiodically
OnlyusewatersoftenersrecommendedbytheManufacturer.
STOPPING OPERATION
• Whenthespraygunlever(22)isreleaseditstopsthehighpressurejetandthemachinegoestothe
bypassmode.
• Pressingthespraygunlever(22)againthehighpressurejetstartsagain.
WARNING
• Ifyouhavetointerruptthehighpressurejetandputthespraygundown,withoutstoppingthemachine,
youhavetoinsertthesafetystop(23).Operation SinFig.4.
CAUTION
• Donotleavethehigh-pressurewatercleanerinbypassformorethanthreeminutes(watergunclosed).
STOP
• Runthecleanerforafewminuteswithcoldwater.
• Closethewatersupplycock.
• Drainthewaterfromthehighpressurecleaner,workingitforafewsecondswiththespraygunlever(22)
pressed.
• Carryoutthestepsforstoppingasexplainedinthecombustionengineoperatingandmaintenance
manualandtaketheignitionkeyout(1).
• Dischargeanyresidualpressurefromthehighpressurehose(35),keepingthespraygunlever(22)pressed
forafewseconds.
• Waitforthehighpressurecleanertocooldown.

DECOMMISSIONING
• Carefullyrewindthehighpressurehose(35)withoutmakinganykinksinit.
• Followtheinstructionsfordecommissioningasgivenintheengineoperatingandmaintenancemanual.
• Thehighpressurecleanermustbekeptinadry,cleanplacepayingattentionnottodamagethehigh
pressurehose.Engagethebrake(40)toavoidanyuncontrolledmovementsofthemachine.
NOTE: afteraprolongedperiodofnon-useyoucouldndafewdropsofwaterunderthepump.This
drippingnormallydisappearsafterafewhoursofuse.Ifitdoespersisthowever,contacta
SPECIALIZED
TECHNICIAN.
ROUTINE MAINTENANCE
Do the operations described in the

paragraphandfollowtheinstructionsgiveninthefollowingtable.
Alsoremembertocarryouttheroutinemaintenancejobsgivenintheengineoperatingandmaintenance
manual,especiallyasregardstocheckingengineoil,theairlterandthesparkplug.

• Checkthelevelofpumpandgearboxoilbymeansofindicators(42)and(38)(Fig.2
andFig.6).Ifyouneedtotopuptheoil,contacta
QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN.
• Removealldirtanddebrisfromthecoolingnsontheengine,fromtheairinlet
grids,fromthemechanismsandrevregulatorsprings(refertotheengineoperating
andmaintenancemanual).
Monthly • Cleanthewaterinletlter(18).
Unscrewthecap(47)witha27mm/1,06inxedjawspanner(notsupplied)and
takethecartridgeout(51),(seeFig.5).Itisnormallyenoughtoputthecartridge
underrunningwaterorblowitwithcompressedairtocleanit.Inthemostdicult
cases,useascaleremoverorreplaceit,contactinganauthorisedassistancecentre
tobuythenewcartridge.
Mountthecartridgeandscrewtheplugbackdown.
• Cleaningthetraylter(11).
Turntheringnut(34)anticlockwiseuntilitiscompletelyundone;griptheringnut
(32)withyourhandkeepingitstillandturningthebody(33)anticlockwiseuntilitis
completelyunscrewed;taketheltercartridgeoutandcleanitasexplainedabove;
inthecaseoftrulystubborndirtchangethecartridge,contactinga

fortherightcartridgetouse;repositionthecartridgeandclosethe
lter,turningthebody(33)rightdownclockwiseandkeepingtheringnut(32)
still;reconnecttheringnut(34)turningitclockwise.
• Cleanthenozzle.
Itisnormallyenoughtoputtheneedle(31)suppliedthroughtheholeofthe
nozzletocleanit.Iftheresultsarenotgood,replacethenozzlepurchasingitfrom
an authorised assistance centre.
Theprofessionalxedfannozzlemountedonthenozzleholderheads(27)canbe
replacedusinga14mm/0,55inboxspanner(notsupplied).
• Oilorgreasetherotatingorslidingpartstheoperatorisabletoreach(referalso
totheengineoperatingandmaintenancemanual).
• Checksoundnessofthewaterinletandoutletcircuits.
• Checktyreinationpressure.
• Checkclampingofthepumptotheengineandtheenginetotheframe.
Ifclampingisfoundtobeinsecuredonot,underanycircumstances,usethe
