2. About the Product
This product is an 8-port industrial switching HUB which conforms to IEEE802.3ab (1000BASE-T)
/IEEE802.3u (100BASE-TX) /IEEE802.3 (10BASE-T) standard, and it is capable of PoE power supply
based on IEEE802.3af, IEEE802.3at.
By using a LAN cable of category 5 or greater, power can be supplied to PoE devices that conform
to IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3at.
The functions including jumbo frames, AutoMDI / MDI-X, and auto negotiations are within.
Due to the fan-less design, this hub can be used in the places where the quietness or a longer lifetime
of the product is desired. Furthermore, a metal housing with excellent heat dissipation enables the
product to be operated in the temperature between -35°C and +70°C. The product can be set on
35mm-DIN rail or on the wall with the supplied brackets.

3. Features
PoE power supply function based on IEEE802.3af,
IEEE802.3at
Power can be supplied to PoE devices that conform to IEEE802.3af, IEEE802.3at. Up to 30W per port and up to 120W * for all ports can
be powered.
*There is a limit to supply the power depending on the power input voltages.
Eight of 1000BASE-T ports are equipped
The product has eight ports which conform to IEEE802.3ab(1000BASE-T) / IEEE802.3u(100BASE-TX)/ IEEE802.3(10BASE-T).
Due to the fan-less design, this hub can be used in the places where the quietness or a longer lifetime of the product is desired.
Furthermore, a metal housing with excellent heat dissipation enables the product to be operated in the temperature between -35 °C and
+70 °C.
Capable of operating in a wide-ranged power inputs,
and features dual power support
The product is capable of operating in a wide range of DC power between 12 and 57VDC. Moreover, dual power supports the product
to continue to work even if one of the power supplies fails. Failures of the power supply can be seen with the LED on the front panel or
the failure detection relay circuit.
DIN rail mounting or Wall installation
With the supplied brackets, the product can be set on a 35mm-DIN rail or on the wall.

Understand the meanings of these labels to operate the equipment safely.

2. Handling Precautions
WARNING
Always check that the power is turned off before connecting or disconnecting power cables.
Do not modify the product.
Do not use the product in locations exposed to a flammable or corrosive gas. It may cause
explosion, fire, electrical shock, or malfunction.
Do not allow this device to come into contact with foreign substances (metal particles,
flammable substances, liquids, etc.) This can cause fire or electrical shock.
Do not place this device in an unstable location or use incomplete mountings. This may cause
the device to fall.
Be sure to connect the product to the stipulated power supply voltage. Connecting to a
different voltage might cause a fire or electrical shock.
If the equipment is used in a manner not specified by the manufacturer, the protection
provided by the equipment may be impaired.
This product is not intended for use in aerospace, space, nuclear power, medical equipment,
or other applications that require a very high level of reliability. Do not use the product in
such applications.
If using this product in applications where safety is critical such as in railways, automotive, or
disaster prevention or security systems, please contact your retailer.
CAUTION
Do not use or store the product in a location exposed to extremely high or low temperature
or susceptible to a rapid temperature changes.
Example: - Exposure to direct sun - In the vicinity of a heat source
Do not use the product in extremely humid or dusty locations. It is extremely dangerous to
use this product with its interior penetrated by water or any other fluid or conductive dust. If
this product must be used in such an environment, install it on a dust-proof control panel, for
example.
Avoid using or storing the product in locations subject to shock or vibration that exceeds
range of specification.
When transporting the product, take suitable measures to avoid applying shock or vibration
directly to the product.
Impact resistance: 15G (11ms) below.
Use the product in the specified operating condition (temperature, humidity, vibration and
shock).
The product should always be grounded (earth).

Avoid installing in the place where ventilation of the product may compromise. Insufficient
aeration could heat up the product and lead to malfunctions or damages.
Do not use the product in the vicinity of devices that generate strong magnetic force or noise.
Such products will cause the product to malfunction (stop, reboot).
Do not use or store the product in the presence of chemicals.
When removing connectors or cables, always unplug the power cables connected to the
product first.
Do not modify the product. CONTEC will bear no responsibility for any problems, etc.,
resulting from modifying the product.
In the event of failure or abnormality (foul smells or excessive heat generation), un-plug the
power cables from an electric outlet immediately and contact your retailer.
To connect with peripherals, use a grounded, shielded cable.
To clean the product, wipe it gently with a soft cloth dampened with either water or mild
detergent. Do not use chemicals or a volatile solvent, such as benzene or thinner, to prevent
the paint to be scraped or discolored.
When connecting cables, first check the shapes of connectors, and then insert them in the
correct orientation. After they are connected, do not put too much load on the connected
part. Doing so may result in poor contact or damage to the product and the connected part.
To suppress noise emission from the product, set a ferrite core to the power cable and LAN
cable (refer to page 18 and 19).
Do not touch metal parts or terminals with your hands when the product is in operation.
Otherwise, the product may malfunction, or cause failure.
Do not touch the product or connectors with a wet hand to avoid electric shock.
The specifications of the product are subject to change without notice for enhancement and
quality improvement. Even when using the product continuously, be sure to read the manual
in the CONTEC's website and understand the contents.
When the product is used in a place that is affected by overcurrent or overvoltage (lightning
surge), select appropriate surge protection device for all of the route (Power line, signal line,
earth, etc.). Consult with the specialist regarding selecting, purchasing, and setting the surge
protection device.
When disposing of the product, follow the disposal procedures stipulated under the relevant
laws and municipal ordinances.
The ferrite core must be installed in interface connecting cable so that the product may suit
the above-mentioned standard.
Regardless of the foregoing statements, CONTEC is not liable for any damages whatsoever

3. Usage limitation
This product has not been developed or manufactured to be used in systems including the
equipment which is directly related to human lives *1 or the equipment which involves human safety
and may significantly affect the maintenance of public functions *2. Therefore, do not use the product
for such purposes.
*1: Medical devices such as life-support equipment and devices used in an operating theater.
*2: Main control systems at nuclear power stations, safety maintenance systems at nuclear facilities,
other important safety-related systems, operation control systems within group transport systems,
air-traffic control systems, etc.

3. Power Failure Detection DIP Switch
Power output failure can be detected with the set of the DIP switch.
The relay pins (pin-3 and pin-4) of the power connector are open in normal operation mode, but
they are closed before the power is supplied or when the power output of the PWR-1 or PWR-2
drops.
