User’s Guide
Description
The SC33021 is an integrated 2A Load Switch with reverse
current blocking which operates from a 1.6V to 5.5V input
supply.
The SC33021 is oered in tiny 0.9mm x 0.9mm x 0.6mm, 4
Bump CSP package enabling very small board area imple-
mentations. The SC33021 has an operating ambient
temperature range of -40 °C to +85 °C.
This guide contains information on how to use the EVB
and should be used in conjunction with the datasheet.
The datasheet contains detailed information including the
electrical characteristics, operating procedures, circuit
design procedures, a typical application circuit, and other
application information.
This guide is intended to help the user to become familiar
with the features of the device. This EVB has many test
points and jumper in order to access various parameters
and circuit capabilities. Users can eliminate these test
points and jumpers to simplify the circuit for a specic
application.

Operation
Check the jumper settings per the above
illustration.
Connect a 5.5V or less power supply at the
proper polarity to the input voltage connection
(J2). The lead between the Power supply and J2
as short as possible.
Connect an output load to the output voltage
connection (J3). The lead between the output
load and J3 as short as possible.
Connect a voltage meter to T1 for VIN sense
measurement.
Connect a voltage meter to T2 for VOUT sense
measurement.
Both T1 and T2 test points are Kelvin connec-
tions which can be used to minimize R
ON
.
The SC33021 EVB shipped in disable position.
Place the EN jumper (J1) in the ON position to
enable the output.
Shutdown
The SC33021 can be shutdown o by pulling EN below
its threshold.
Reverse Blocking
A comparator is used to sense and compare the
VOUT voltage to the VIN voltage, when VOUT -
VIN > 40mV minimum with EN=high, the Reverse
Blocking circuit is triggered and reverse current
is blocked from VOUT to VIN.
The EN is changed from high to low, there is only
slight reverse leakage current, and the maximum
is 3uA at room temperature.
