About this guide
This instruction manual explains how to safely use the product and care for
it. Please read carefully through the following information and keep these
instructions, in case you need to refer to them later.
If you pass the product on to someone else, please also include these
instructions.
Symbols in this instruction manual:
This symbol cautions against severe risk of injury and severe risk of
material damage.

Labels used:
The names of buttons/control elements are written in bold.

Designated use
The scale is designed for weighing food and small items in private
household use. The maximum load capacity – see “Technical data” – must
not be exceeded.
The scale is designed for private household use and the normal quantities
occurring there. For commercial use, e.g. in bakeries, restaurants, etc., the
scale is unsuitable.

Safety
zThis device can be used by children from the age of 8 and also
by persons with impaired physical, sensory or mental abilities or
lacking experience and/or knowledge, if they are under
supervision or after receiving instruction on safe use of the
appliance and have understood the resulting hazards. Children
must not play with the device.
zCleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by
children without supervision.
zBatteries can be life-endangering if swallowed. Therefore, keep
the scale and batteries out of reach of small children. If a battery
has been swallowed, medical assistance must immediately be
sought.
Hazards for children
zKeep children away from packaging material. Suffocation hazard if
swallowed. Ensure that the packaging bag is not put over the head.
Injury hazard
zBatteries must not be charged, reactivated with other means,
dismantled, thrown into fire or short-circuited. Explosion hazard!
zAvoid battery acid coming into contact with skin, eyes and mucous
membranes. If battery acid comes into contact with the skin, immediately
rinse the affected areas with plenty of clear water and immediately
contact a physician.
Caution – property damage
zThe scale must not be immersed in water or other liquids.
zPlace the scale on a sturdy, level surface.
zDo not overload the scale. Pay attention to the “Technical data”.
Place only items for weighing on the scale.
zDo not put the scale near appliances which can emit magnetic radiation,
e.g. mobile phones, radios or similar. This can lead to incorrect displays
or malfunctions.

zThere are feet on the underside of the scale. As furniture/floor surfaces
are made of diverse materials and are treated with diverse care
products, it cannot be entirely ruled out that some of these materials
contain components, which could attack and soften the appliance feet.
If necessary, place a non-slip base under the appliance feet.
zRemove the batteries from the appliance, if they are exhausted or if you
are not using the scale for a longer period of time. This way, you avoid
damage that could result from leakage.
zDo not expose the batteries to any extreme conditions by e.g. laying
them on a radiator or under direct sunlight. Increased leakage hazard!
zClean the battery and appliance contacts prior to insertion, if required.
zOnly use batteries of the same type, do not use different types or used
and new batteries together.
zDo not carry out any changes to the device. Only allow repairs to be
carried out by a professional workshop and pay attention to these
guarantee conditions.
zNever use hard, scratching or abrasive detergents or similar, for
cleaning the scale. This could scratch the surface.
CAUTION – HANDLE CAREFULLY!
This electronic scale is a precision appliance with sensitive
measurement technology.
The sensitive weighing sensors in the fee can be damaged from setting
up the scale with excessive force.
Ensure that you always set up the scale carefully, in order to avoid hard
impact on the sensors/feet and thereby avoid damage.

Initial use
1. Slide the locking tab of the battery compartment lid on the underside of
the device downwards. Remove the battery compartment lid.
2. Insert the supplied batteries, as shown on the base of the battery
compartment. Pay attention to the correct polarity (+/-) of the batteries.
3. Reinsert the battery compartment lid. Ensure that the lid audibly locks in.
Weighing
Attention - material damage
- Do not overload the scale. Pay attention to the "Technical data".
Place only items for weighing on the scale.
- Set up the scale carefully, in order to avoid hard impact on the
sensors/feet and thereby avoid damage.
- The scale can measure in various units of measurement. Prior to
weighing, check whether the required unit of measurement is set.
The selection is described in step 3.
- In the g unit of measurement, when 5999 g is exceeded, the
weight is automatically displayed in kilograms (e.g. 10,500 kg).
The scale can display the weight in kilograms (kg), grams (g) or in (British)
pounds and ounces (lb:oz).
1. Place the scale on a sturdy, level surface.
2. Switch the scale on by pressing the ON/OFF/TARE button.
After a few seconds, depending on the set unit of measurement, 0 g,
0.000 kg or 0: 0.0 lb:oz is displayed. The scale is calibrated.
3. Repeatedly press MODE until the required unit of measurement appears
in the display. The scale is ready.
4. If you intend to weigh the weighing goods in a container, place the
container on the weighing surface without any contents.
5. Press the ON/OFF/TARE button again.
In the display, depending on the set unit of measurement, 0 g, 0.000 kg
or 0: 0.0 lb:oz is displayed.
6. Place the weighing goods into the container/lay them onto the weighing
surface.
The measured weight is displayed.
7. Read off the value and take away the measured weight.

If the measured weight is more than 5 kg or 11 lbs 0.4 oz and you
intended to directly continue with weighing, press TARE prior to the
next weighing.
Adding weighing goods (TARE)
This function is e.g. practical for baking, if you would like to add another
ingredient to an ingredient that is already on the scale.
1. Press ON/OFF/TARE, to reset the scale to 0 g, 0.000 kg or 0: 0.0 lb:oz.
2. Add the new weighing goods.
In the display, the weight of the added weighing goods is shown.
3. Repeat the procedure, if you intend to add more ingredients for
weighing.
Switching off scale
XKeep the ON/OFF/TARE button pressed until the display extinguishes.
If the scale is not used for approx. 60 seconds, it will switch off
automatically.
Other functions
Package function
After activating the package function, the measured weight continues to be
displayed for approx. 5 seconds after removing the weighing goods. This is
particularly advantageous if the weighing goods (e.g. packages) are
particularly bulky and covers the display. To activate the package function,
please proceed as follows:
1. Press MODE and keep MODE pressed until the unit of measurement
flashes.
2. Place/lay the weighing goods on the scale.
3. After approx. 3 seconds, remove the weighing goods from the scale
again.
4. The measured weight will be displayed for approx. 5 seconds. Read off
the value.
Then, the display will return to 0 g, 0.000 kg or 0: 0.0 lb:oz and the unit of
measurement will no longer flash. To reactivate the package function start
again at step 1.

If g was set as a unit of measurement prior to activating the package
function, the unit of measurement automatically switches to kg.
To subsequently switch back to the g unit of measurement, press
MODE twice.
Overload display
If O-Ld is shown in the display, the maximum load capacity has been
exceeded, see "Technical data" on page 13.
XRemove the weighing goods from the scale.
Reset scale (RESET)
Reset the scale to its factory settings, if the values in the display are
obviously wrong.
XPress the RESET button on the underside of the scale. After switching
on, you can continue weighing as usual.
Replacing batteries
If LO appears in the display, the inserted batteries need to be replaced with
new ones.
Attention - material damage
- Always replace all batteries at the same time.
- Do not use different types of batteries or used and new batteries
together.
- Pay attention to the disposal information, see page 13.

Cleaning
Attention - material damage
- The scale must not be immersed in water or other liquids.
- Never use hard, scratching or abrasive detergents or similar, for
cleaning the scale. This could scratch the surface.
1. Wipe the scale with a cloth that has been dampened slightly with water.
2. Dry the scale off with a soft cloth in order to avoid staining.
Storage
Attention - material damage
- Do not lay or stand any items on the scale when you are storing
the scale, e.g. in a cupboard. The sensitive movement in the scale
could be damaged by heavy items.
- When hanging it up, ensure that the scale does not hit the wall, in
order to avoid damage.
Tips & Information
zYou can also use the scale as a letter and postage scale.
zSmall pets (golden hamsters, guinea pigs, etc.) can be weighed using a
bowl.
zDiverse units of measurement are particularly used in cookbooks. The
following information provides an initial overview. You can find
numerous converters on the Internet.
You can hang the scale on a matching
organisation systems with the suspension
device on the back.

Faults Possible causes and rectification
No function. - Scale switched on?
- Batteries empty?
The scale is obviously displaying
incorrect weighing results.
- Is the scale standing on a solid, level sur-
face?
- Is there an appliance near the scale, which
can trigger electromagnetic faults?
- Set the scale back to factory settings by
pressing the RESET button.
o-Ld is shown in the display. - The scale has been overloaded.
0 g, 0.000 kg or 0: is shown on
the display: 0.0 lb:oz is shown in
the display although there are
weighing goods on the scale.
- Measuring range fallen short of? The scale
can display weights of between 3 g and
15 kg.
-ON/OFF/TARE has been pressed.
out2 is shown in the display. - Display appears during weighing: Press
RESET button.
- Display appears directly when switching on:
The weighing sensors are probably defec-
tive. Please contact customer service.
