INSTALLING HEAT SHIELD GUARD
on the PT-17A Torch
STANDARD GUARD - P/N 19990
DRAG-TYPE GUARD - P/N 19989
Push guard over heat shield and onto the shroud.
The step inside the guard should stop against bottom of shroud.
When using the drag-type guard, a 1/8" tip-to work standoff is
provided.
The guard can be rotated
to any desired position and
need not be removed from
the shroud when changing
consumables.
Periodically remove spatter and splashed metal from tip and
edge of heat shield that could cause arcing between the guard
and work.
