can then load back (=overwrite the default settings) these settings in
the new board.
If however you just replace the x-cube, you will need to load into the
projector the settings of the new x-cube only.
We will make available in the near future, via the Partner Zone, the
settings of the x-cubes (note that each x-cube bears a specific
number).
From soft V1.3 onwards it will now be possible to upload only the X-
Cube settings, next to ALL settings.
Soft V1.3 has new serial commands to take a backup of the X-Cube
settings only (for our production) and to load these settings into the
projector in the field. This will be necessary in the field whenever an X-
Cube replacement is done.
8. Cool down cycle
In the first version of the Power Box, the "fan lightpipe" was driven
on/off in step with the operational SMPS via the SMP_OFF line (see
schematics).
In the Universal Power Box, the light pipe fan is microprocessor
controlled. After the cool down cycle (1 minute on IQ 200/IQ300 and 2
minutes on IQ 400), the fan for the light pipe remained on. This is not
necessary and this fan is switched off now. It even causes the projector
to make more noise in standby.
Please note that this is only applicable for units that are provided with a
universal power box.
9. New startup sequence
When the projector starts up in dual lamp mode, both lamps where
ignited the same time. It is possible that one lamp disturbs the other
one, causing a possible "lamp failure" indication. This lamp failure is
not correct, because both lamps are maybe in good condition
The new startup sequence in dual mode now ignites lamp 1 and waits
2 seconds before igniting lamp 2.
This results in a better starting up of the projector in dual lamp mode.
10. Switching to composite video when no signal is present
When the projector was switched from e.g. RGBHV (slot 1, 5 BNC’s) to
Composite Video (slot 3) and no composite video signal was present,
the background was displayed. This is OK.
If then the video signal was applied, the video image was not shown.
This has been solved now. When an input is selected and there is no
signal, the image will appear as soon the source is connected.
