Mounting the PD-2609UE onto your POS Terminal

Please follow the below instructions to install the customer display onto your

POS terminal. During installation of PD-2609UE, do NOT power ON the

terminal.

1. Locate the USB ports on the top side

of your terminal. Then, remove the

cover, when necessary, to access the

USB port. In the example, USB

ports are found on the rear of the

POS terminal.

2. Take the customer display out of the

PD-2609UE package box. Hold the

display and make sure that its cable

is placed above the bracket mounted

onto the rear side of the display.

3. Align the USB cable of the display

with the USB port of your terminal.

4. Connect the USB cable of

PD-2609UE to the USB port on the

top side of your terminal.

5. Take two screws out of the package

box. Insert the screws into the lower

row of screw holes as indicated by

the arrows.

6. While tightening the screws, leave

the screws loose enough to hold the

mounting bracket of the display as

shown in the figure.

7. By using a diagonal cutting nipper, break off the plastic tab off the rear

I/O cover which you removed from the POS terminal in the Step 1.

8. Align the two wedge tabs of the rear

I/O cover with the two wedged

portion of the rear plate of the

terminal.

9. To keep the cable organized, tuck the extra cable into the I/O

compartment and thread the cable through the cable exit as shown in the

figure.

10. Press the back cover into place.

11. Hang the bracket onto the screws.

12. Slide it into position along the rail as the below figures show.

13. Tighten the screws by keeping

turning them clockwise.

14. Make sure that PD-2609UE is well

mounted onto the POS terminal.

Setting up the PD-2609UE for Virtual COM Port Mode

To have your POS terminal access PD-2609UE using virtual COM port,

it is required to configure the DIP switch settings and then install the

related virtual COM port drivers. Please follow the below instructions

to complete the configuration of DIP switch. As for the driver

installation, the details will be provided in the following section,

Installing the Virtual COM Driver for PD-2609UE.

1. Slide the cover of the DIP switch

on the rear of PD-2609UE.

2. Set DIP switch #1 and #2 to be

OFF.

Installing the Virtual COM Driver for PD-2609UE

Before proceeding with the following instructions to install the virtual

COM driver on your POS terminal, you must determine whether the

DIP switch positions 1~2 is properly switched to OFF. If not, please go

through the previous section of Setting up the PD-2609UE for Virtual

COM Port Mode to complete the necessary DIP switch settings.

1. Connect the USB cable of PD-2609UE to your POS terminal.

2. Locate the “SA_PD_LM” folder from

the “Drivers” folder in the Local Disk

(C:) of your POS terminal.

3. You will find the “USB_VCOM”

folder and double click it.

4. Then double click the

“USB_VCOM_v519bx” folder.

5. In the folder, you will see some files.

Double click the PDF named USB

VCOM Drivers Installing Guide to

open.

6. Then, refer to this installation guide to complete the driver

installation.

Adjusting the DIP Switch Settings for PD-2609UE

DIP Switch of PD-2609U, which is comprised of six electrical switches

located at the rear of the customer display, allows you to save your

preferences for USB class and emulation commands. The below figure

gives the list of four available combination of DIP switch settings for

your reference.

USB Class

DIP switch #1 and #2 are mainly responsible for deciding the interface

via which your POS terminal would interact with the customer display.

The below table describes four different combinations of DIP switch

settings supported by PD-2609UE for your reference.

A good range of commands emulation is also provided in PD-2609UE.

By setting up DIP switches from #3 to #6 in order according to the

below table, you may specify the type of command sets which your

pole display will emulate.
