Safety NotesIntroduction
General Use

z The Travel-Pak must not be used in an environment where moisture or flammable
vapour is likely to come into contact with the unit.
z When moving the unit from extremes of tempertures and humidity, allow at least one
hour for the unit to stabilise at room temperature before connecting it to the supply.
z A fire hazard exists if flammable materials are placed in close proximity to either the
flashtube or modelling bulb when the unit is in use.
z Switch off supply before changing cables or sockets.
z Only fit Bowens or Calumet approved equipment to this unit.
z The Travel-Pak Booster is protected by an inline 10A fuse. This is user replaceable.
z Only connect this unit to a Travel-Pak as documented in these instructions. Avoid trailing
supply cords and sync leads where they can be tripped over.
z Never use a unit with damaged covers, mouldings or sockets. If a unit is
dropped or damaged in any way always have it checked out before using.
z Due to the high voltage/energy used in the Travel-Pak, all servicing should only
be carried out by an authorised service centre.
z Do not charge Batteries in a gas tight container.
z 1 x Travel-Pak Booster Battery.
z 1 x User Guide.
z 1 x Registration Card.
(Additional items may be supplied for use in specific countries).
z To charge both batteries have the Booster connected to the Battery socket while charging
the main unit. Always double normal charge times. Approx 6 hours to reach full charge.
z Do not connect any other batteries or power sources
of a different specification as they may damage your
Travel-Pak.
z Connection of a Booster Battery will double the
number of flashes available from your Travel-Pak.
z The Battery Indicator will show the condition of the
combined batteries. You will notice the Battery
Indicator improve when the Booster is connected.
z You must recycle your battery. Contact Bowens to find out the lastest recycling information
(contact details on reverse of this leaflet).
