Operating The Washing Machine
Checklist and Preparation before Washing Clothes
Please read this operation method carefully to avoid problems with your washing machine and
damaging clothes.
Check if first-washed clothes will colour run.
In order to determine if the colour is fixed on an item of clothing, use a white towel soaked in a little
liquid detergent to rubbed an area of the clothes that will not be seen. If the white towel is stained
with the clothes original colour, the dye will run into other
clothes. Wash this item of clothing separately on its own
prior to washing with other items.
Tips:
Prior to washing, stained clothes should be
rubbed gently with liquid detergent into the stains.
Separate colours from whites when washing.
Temperature-sensitive clothes need to be washed as per recommendation on the label.
If the label on a garment states that it is "dry clean only", do not machine wash.
Keep in Mind:
Never leave washed clothes in washing machine for a long period of time. Otherwise they may get
moldy and cause mildew. Please remove the clothes from the washing machine in a timely
manner. The clothes may also get discoloured or distorted if they are not washed according to the
stated washing temperature.
WARNING
Electrical Connection
- As the maximum current through the unit is 10A when you are using its heating function, please
make sure the power supply system (current, power voltage and wire) in your home can meet
the normal loading requirements of the electrical appliances.
- Please connect the power to a socket which is correctly installed and properly earthed.
- Make sure that the power voltage is same to that in the machine's rating label.
- The power plug must match the socket and the connection must be properly and effectively
earthed.
- Do not use multi-purpose plugs or extension cords.
- Do not connect or unplug with wet hands.
- When connecting and pulling out the plug, hold the plug tightly and then pull it out. Do not pull
by the power cord forcibly.
- If the power cord is damaged or has any sign of being broken, a replacement power cord must
be sourced from the NordMende service department.
Connect the end of the drain hose to the waste water outlet
Do not kink or protract the drain hose.
Position drain hose properly, otherwise damage might result in water
leakage.

Wrinkle-style, embossed clothes etc. may get distorted when immersed in water. Wrinkle-style silk,
fur products and fur decorations are also easily distorted.
Clothes with decoration, long dresses etc are products that decolourise easily.
Do not wash clothes without consulting the material label washing requirements.
Never wash clothes stained with the chemicals such as petrol, petroleum, benzene, paint thinner or
alcohol.
Detergents
Do not use hand wash detergent, “low-sudsing” liquid detergent or washing powder should only be
used. Otherwise, excessive bubbles may be generated and will overflow out of the drawer and
cause flooding and damage.
The detergent should be selected according to the fabric of the clothing (cotton, synthetic fiber, soft
products and wool products), colours, washing temperatures, level of dirt etc.
Bleach damages clothes, so it is suggested to use as little as possible.
Powder detergents can leave residues on clothes which can also generate bad odors, it is important
to make sure that they are sufficiently rinsed.
Powder detergent does not easily dissolve completely if there is too much detergent or if the water
temperature is too low. It can remain in clothes, pipes and washing machines and pollute the
clothes.
Washing shall follow the weight of the clothes, the level of soiling, local water hardness as well as
the recommendations from the detergent manufacturers. Please consult the water company if you
are not clear of the water hardness in your area.
Notes:
Keep detergents and additives in a safe and dry place out of the reach of children.
Empty all pockets prior to washing
Check the pockets of all clothing prior to being
washed. Empty any rigid items such as coins,
hair clips, keys, pens etc otherwise the washing machine
may be damaged.
For clothes to be washed, they need to be classified
according to the the characteristics on the label.
The symbols on care labels generally fall under the following -
cotton, blended fabrics, synthetic fabrics, silk, wool and artificial fibers.
Separating and Sorting the Load:
Clothes need to be sorted before being put into the washing machine -
Colour: Whites and colourful clothes need be identified and separated. All new colourful
articles need to be washed for the first time on a cycle alone.
Size: Clothing of different sizes should be washed together to increase the washing
efficiency.
Sensitivity: Soft articles need to be washed separately, for example wool fabrics, curtains
and silks. The delicates programme needs to be selected. Check the labels on all washing
articles.
Curtains with hooks should have all of the hooks removed before being washed.
Clothing with decorations, buttons or embroideries, need to be turned inside out before they
are washed. Warning: Decorations on clothes may be damaged during a washing cycle.
Zips should be zipped up and buttons or hooks should be closed. Loose bands or ribbons
should be bound together.
It is suggested to put bras into a pillowcase
prior to washing and tie closed to prevent the steel
wire from popping out of bras and damaging the
machine.
Especially delicate textiles such as lace curtains,
small items such as tights, socks, handkerchiefs,
ties etc. should be put into string bag and sealed for
washing.
When washing single bulky items such as towels, jeans,
quilted jackets etc. it may easily cause unbalance due to
increased eccentricity. Therefore it is suggested to add one
or two more items of clothing to the wash, so that draining
can be done smoothly.
Items that are easily stained such as white sockets, collars, sleeves etc. should be hand
washed before being put into the washing machine, to achieve more ideal washing results.
When using powdered detergents or additives, it is suggested to use some water to dilute the
powder in order to prevent the inlet of the detergent box from being blocked and overflowing
while filling with water.
To protect baby skin
Baby clothes and towels, including towel nappies should be washed separately. If they are
washed together with adult clothing on normal cycle, the detergent may cause irritation to the
babies skin. The baby care programme increases the rinsing time to ensure the thorough
rinsing and cleaning of the fabric, by removing all detergent residues.

Confirm the washing capacity:
Do not overload the washing machine, otherwise it may affect the washing efficiency or damage
the machine. Please consult the below table, for the maximum loading capacity.
Clothes that easily develop lint balls need to be turned inside out
Clothes that shed fibres need to be washed separately, otherwise other items in the wash
will be covered in these fibres.
Preferably black and cotton clothes need to be washed separately.
Washing Waterproof Materials
The washing machine is not designed to wash waterproof materials (ski suits, waterproof table
cloths, shower curtains etc). Similarly for fabrics that cannot easily absorb water, such as semi
waterproof cushions and clothes, it is better not to machine wash. Washing waterproof / semi
waterproof fabrics can cause leakages and or abnormal vibrations, while also damaging the
fabrics.

that for cottons and the washing cycle is quite gentle. It is recommended to use this programme to
wash synthetic articles, for example: shirts, coats, small curtains and laced textiles, etc. While
washing knitted textiles, the detergent quantity needs to be reduced due to its loose string
construction which easily forms bubbles.
- Mix(Mixed)
Especially for mixed items of laundry made of various hard-wearing and easy-care fabrics, that
need much more time. It is used for the daily clothes, such as sheets, pillowcases, bathrobes and
underwear.

Unplug to avoid electrical shock before washing.
After using the washing machine close the door tightly to avoid pinching children.
Remove foreign matters
Drain Pump Filter:
The rain pump filter can filter threads and small foreign objects from the washing machine.
Clean the filter periodically to ensure the normal operation of the washing machine.
According to the soil level within the cycles and the frequency of the cycles, you need to inspect
and cleanliness of the filter regularly.
