Introduction
What’s in the Box
Thank you for purchasing the Apex Digital LDP706 7” portable digital television. It has been
designed to watch and enjoy local television programs or connect to an external video device
such as a DVD player or video camera. The rechargeable battery pack offers up to 2.5 hours of
continuous power and its quick release makes it easy to swap out with another (optional) battery
to double your viewing time. The LDP706 includes an external RF antenna input to connect the
enclosed telescoping antenna or other external antenna/cable.
The LD706 incorporates many of the features found on larger stand-alone TVs including color and
picture adjustments and a full function remote control. There is an on-screen television guide of
daily programming, a stereo headphone jack for private listening, closed captioning capabilities,
and 4-hour sleep timer. A built-in stand provides just the right angle when viewing on a table or
kitchen counter.
We recommend that you read the user manual thoroughly before rst use to familiarize yourself
with the functions and adjustments available to you.

Connect the power plug from the AC adapter to the 12V DC 1.

green. When charged completely, the indicator will illuminate
solid green. The battery takes about 3 hours to fully charge
and under normal conditions will function for up to 2.5 hours.
The LDP706 features a quick release battery latch that 3.
makes it easy to detach the battery pack. To open, using
nger pressure slide the spring-loaded tab and the battery
will release out of its compartment. To close, set battery into
position, slide the release towards “open” and push battery
into position. Release the switch to lock in place.
Use the RF quick-connect adapter (L-type) to connect your 4.
cable or indoor/outdoor antenna for indoor use. Untighten the
telescopic antenna. Screw on your cable wire to the RF quick
disconnect adapter and push on to the RF input. Pull out the
built-in stand carefully to stand the TV upright.
After connecting the antenna, turn on the TV and highlight 5.
“YES” to begin the channel search process whereby the tuner
will search for strong digital signals from local TV stations and
store them into memory. (See page 10 for more details).

Picture Menu Overview

The PICTURE menu offers display options to enhance and rene the picture displayed on your
TV.
How to Navigate:
Press the MENU button to highlight PICTURE, then press the down q arrow button to highlight
your preferences.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight Contrast. Navigate using the t u arrow buttons to
increase or decrease the picture intensity.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight Brightness. Navigate using the t u arrow buttons
to increase or decrease overall brightness.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight Tint. Navigate using the t u arrow buttons to
control color hue.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight Color. Navigate using the t u arrow buttons to
increase or decrease color saturation.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight Picture Mode. Press the right u arrow button to
display Full or 4:3 (with side black bars). On certain broadcasts, this feature will not function.
Press Exit (or Menu) when nished.
Battery Level - Indicates the level of charge in the battery. When “Low Battery” appears, bat-
tery power will be exhausted within 10-20 minutes.

The TV menu provides user preferences for your television to receive TV channels, display closed
captions, parental controls and store your favorite channels.
How to Navigate:
Press the MENU button then the right u arrow button to highlight TV; Press the down q arrow
button to highlight your preferences.
Highlight TV Source. Press the left or right t u arrow button to select your antenna type,
AIR or CABLE. Make certain the antenna or cable is properly connected rst.
For over-the-air channels, use the down q arrow button to highlight CHANNEL SCAN. By
default, the TV is already set to AIR. Press the right u arrow button to enter the channel
search process whereby the tuner will search for strong digital signals from local TV stations
and store them into memory. Press Enter to start the scan and wait until progress is com-
plete. Once nished, you may view stored channels. Rescan and adjust antenna or location
to search for additional channels, if necessary.
If connected to standard Cable (no set top box), use the q arrow button to highlight TV
Source. Press the right u arrow button then highlight Cable. Press the down q and right u
arrow buttons to initiate Cable Channel Scan. You may scan automatically or do so manually.
Press the u right arrow button to select Manual. Press the down q and right u arrow buttons
to highlight and select options from within the Table. STD > IRC >HRC, then press Enter to
scan.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight GUIDE. Press the right u arrow button to view
a guide of daily programming for the current channel viewed (if available). Sound is muted
while displayed. Add or delete channels from your Favorite List in this menu as well (see
below)
Highlight CLOSED CAPTION. Press the right u arrow button to enter closed caption settings
for both digital and analog broadcasts. Additionally, you may customize background displays,
text styles, colors and opacities (See page 11 for details).
Highlight PARENTAL CONTROL. Press the right u arrow button then enter your 4 digit code
(factory default code is “1234” (See page 12 for details).
Use the down q arrow button to highlight FAVORITE LIST. Press the right u arrow button to
view a list of favorite channels you have set into memory. To add a channel as a favorite, go
to a desired channel and press Guide on the remote control. Press the FAV button and a FAV
icon will appear to conrm the entry into your favorites list. To delete a channel, while in the
Guide, press the FAV button and the FAV con will disappear, thereby removing from your list.

Closed Caption
Find adjustments to enable the Closed Caption feature and customize CCD display types and font
styles.
How to Navigate:
Press the MENU button then the right u arrow button to highlight TV. Use the down q arrow
button to select Closed Caption.
Press the right u arrow button to turn on CCD. Continue navigating using down q and right
u arrow buttons to select other CCD options.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight ANALOG CAPTION or DIGITAL CAPTION
depending on channel broadcast. Since most stations broadcast digitally, it’s likely you will
select Digital Caption. Navigate using t u buttons to select Service1-6 (Digital) or CC1-4;
TT1-4 (Analog)
Use the down q arrow button to highlight CUSTOMIZATION. Press the right u arrow to enter
the digital closed caption menu with options to customize text fonts, colors and opacities.

Parental Controls
Parental controls allow you to dictate what children may or not view. The technology that blocks
the display of programming based upon its rating is called V-Chip. The V-chip reads information
encoded in the rated TV program and blocks programs based on the setting made here in the
Setup menu. Ratings are displayed during the rst 15 seconds of a TV show. To enter or adjust
settings, you must use a 4 digital password code. By factory default, the code is “1234”. You may
also block any input source from use.
How to Navigate:
Press the MENU button then the right u arrow button to highlight TV. Use the down q arrow
button to select your preferences
Highlight PARENTAL CONTROL menu.
Press the right u arrow button then enter your
4 digit code (factory default code is “1234”.
For USA: Use the down q arrow button to
highlight TV RATING or MPAA ratings. Press the
right u arrow button to enter the desired ratings
menu. Navigate to allow all, block all, select
based on the following. Press Exit when nished.
For Canada: Use the down q arrow button to
highlight ENGLISH or FRENCH ratings. Press the
right u arrow button to enter the desired ratings
menu. Navigate to allow all, block all, select
based on the following. Press Exit when nished.
Navigate to turn on the Lock System and
Country (USA or Canada). Press the
right u arrow button to enter the Parental
Control menu.
To reset the password, use the down q arrow
button to highlight Password. Press the right
u arrow button to view a screen to enter a
new password. Re-enter the new password
to conrm.

Setup Menu Overview

The SETUP menu provides user preferences for the on-screen menu language, Sleep Timer to
shut off the television automatically and Time Zone so local time can be established.
How to Navigate:
Press the MENU button then the right u arrow button to highlight SETUP; Press the down q
arrow button to select your preferences.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight Menu Language. Navigate using the t u arrow
buttons to change the on-screen language to English > Spanish > French. To exit, press
Menu.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight Sleep Timer. Press the u arrow button to select
the amount of time the TV will stay on before automatically turning off. 30 Minutes > 1 Hour >
2 Hours > 4 Hours > Off. To exit, press Menu.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight Time Zone. Press the right u arrow button and
select your location as Eastern > Central > Mountain > Pacic > Alaska > Hawaii. To exit,
press Menu.
Use the down q arrow button to highlight Input Source. Press the right u arrow button to
display the input source screen. HIghlight your preference, AV or TV then press ENTER (See
pg. 14 for details).
Use the down q arrow button to highlight Factory Reset. Press the right u arrow button to
reset settings back to original factory default status. Highlight YES and press ENTER.
Connecting an External Video Device

AV INPUT
To view content from an external video device (DVD, VCR, etc) connect the supplied A/V cable
from the audio/video output jacks on your external video device to the 3.5mm AV input jack on the
LDP706.
From the remote control press the INPUT button to display the input source screen. Highlight AV
and press Enter.
AV OUTPUT
View TV programming originating from the LDP706 tuner to an external video display. Connect
the supplied A/V cable from the 3.5 mm AV input/output jack on the LDP 706 to AV inputs on the
display. Select the appropriate input on your external display to view.

Apex Digital expresses the following limited warranty. This warranty extends to a new Apex LDP706 purchased
from an authorized Apex Digital reseller/retailer and within the US by the original purchaser or consumer who
received the product as a gift. You must retain and provide the original bill of sale (or photocopy) for proof of
purchase. It is strongly recommended to retain original packaging and all of its contents.
Limited One (1) Year Warranty on Parts
Apex Digital warrants the parts in this product against defects in material or workmanship for a period of one (1)
year from the date of original purchase. During this period, Apex Digital will replace a defective part with a new
or refurbished part without charge to you. It is the responsibility of the consumer to retain packaging or provide
like packaging in order to facilitate the warranty process. Apex Digital, Inc will incur no liability whatsoever
to provide packaging for warranty items. Upon receipt of the warranty item, should it be determined that the
packaging was insufcient, Apex Digital Inc., at its discretion, may void the warranty.
Limited Ninety (90) Day Warranty Labor Repair
Apex Digital warrants it will be responsible for labor charges on the repair or replacement of parts on this
product for a period of ninety days from the date of original purchase. During this period, Apex Digital will repair
or replace a defective part at its sole option, with a new or refurbished part or product without charge to you. The
consumer is responsible for the transportation cost and insurance (recommended) for the set to the authorized
service center or Apex Digital, where it will be repaired and then returned at no cost to you.

The warranties are subject to the following conditions: You must retain the original bill of sale (or a photocopy) to
provide proof of purchase even if the product was received as a gift. You must call the provided phone number
for an assessment of the problem. No warranty service shall be provided until a return authorization (RMA#)
is provided to you then attached or printed on the shipping carton along with a copy of the bill of sale. You are
responsible for all tariffs and taxes imposed to ship or receive warranty replacement units to and from the U.S.
over the Canadian border. Labor service charges for TV installation, setup, adjustment of consumer controls
and installation or repair of any type of antenna or cable systems are not covered by this warranty. Reception
problems caused by inadequate antenna or cable systems are your responsibility. Warranties extend only to
defects in materials or workmanship as limited above and do not extend to any other products or parts that
have been lost, mistakenly discarded, damaged by misuse, accident, neglect, acts of God such as lightning, or
voltage surges in the home, improper maintenance or use in violation of instructions, or product that has been
modied or had the serial number removed or altered. Warranties do not cover cosmetic or missing accessories.
How to Obtain Warranty Service
If after following the user manual, quick start and troubleshooting guide, should you nd it necessary to contact
Customer Service directly, call (866) 427-3946 daily from 8am-10pm. You will be instructed on how your
claim will be processed. Have pertinent information available including proof of purchase details and a full
understanding of your problem.
Limitations
The LCD panel is an innovative device that is manufactured to precise tolerances with active performing pixels
of at least 99.99%. As such, it is NOT a malfunction to view multiple non-performing pixels on your screen. All
warranties implied by state law are expressly limited to the duration of the limited warranties set forth above with
the exception of warranties implied by state law as hereby limited, the foregoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu
of all other warranties, guarantees, agreements, etc., with respect to repair or replacement of any parts. Apex
Digital shall not be liable for consequential or incidental damage. The warranty give you specic rights and you
may also have rights that may vary from state to state. Some states don’t allow limitations on warranty duration,
exclusions or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply.
