Mounting Tips
It is recommended you install these speakers to a solid surface
such as wood studs. If installing to a material such as drywall,
ensure that the surface can support the weight of the speakers.
The use of wall anchors is highly recommended.
Before securing the speakers to your desired mounting surface,
ensure the speakers will clear any obstacles such as lighting
xtures, door or window frames, ceilings, etc.
While these are outdoor speakers, you will extend the life of
these speakers if they are installed in an area where they receive
minimal exposure to the elements.
The mounting brackets provided allow you to mount the speakers
either horizontally or vertically and to aim the speakers in a
precise direction that facilitates optimum sound quality.
If, at any time, you are unsure regarding the installation process,
contact either VM Audio or a professional installer for assistance.

Mounting the Speakers
1. With a pencil, mark the
intended mounting locations,
using the mounting brackets
as a template.
2. Pre-drill a hole directly into the
installation locations. If you
are not installing into a wall
stud, insert wall anchors (not
included) into the mounting
holes.
3. If necessary, pull speaker wire
out from the wall and thread
it through the hole in the
mounting brackets.
4. Position the brackets over the
installation holes and secure
to the wall using #10 screws
(not included).
6. Pull lightly on the speakers to ensure the screws and brackets
are properly aligned and secured to the mounting surface.
7. After you verify the brackets are secured to the wall, you can
loosen the mounting knobs to adjust the speakers to your desired
angles. Re-tighten the knobs when you reach the desired position.
5. Secure the speaker to the
bracket by positioning the
speaker between the bracket
arms. Align the holes in the
tops and bottoms of the
brackets with the holes in
the tops and bottoms of
the speakers. Secure the

into the hole. Release the tab
to secure the connection.
Repeat this step for the black

½” to expose the bare wire.
Ensure there are no frayed
wires by twisting any frayed
ends together.
2. Unscrew the tops of
the binding posts on the
backs of the speakers in a
counterclockwise direction to
reveal the holes drilled through
the metal posts.
3. Connect the red (positive) wire
to the positive binding post.
This is the post on the right

Connecting the Speakers to Your Receiver
7
No Sound
No Sound from One Speaker
Check the speaker wires and ensure they have a solid connection
to all the speaker terminals on each speaker and on the ampli er
or receiver.
Check that the receiver or ampli er is powered “on” at the mains,
is not on “mute”, has no headphones attached and that the
channels used for the speakers (usually A or B) is in operation.
Refer to the owner’s guide that came with your receiver or
ampli er for troubleshooting guidelines for the unit.
Most initial problems are connectivity, please try a different
connection cable to your in-ceiling speakers or equipment.
Check the “balance” control on your receiver ampli er.
Check all connections and cable to the inoperable speaker.
Disconnect the “working” speaker from the receiver ampli er
connection/channel. Switch the cord from the non-operating
speaker from its current connection to the “working” speaker
connection. If the speaker now works, the problem is your
receiver ampli er.
Reconnect as original. Remove the speaker cable at the “working”
speaker directly and connect it directly to the non-working
speaker. If the speaker now works, the problem is somewhere in
the original speaker cable.
If the speaker still does not work the problem is the speaker.
