Installation

theseoperatinginstructionscarefully.Theycontainimportant
informationforsafeuse,forinstallationandforcareofthe
appliance.

Positioning and connection
Positioning
1. Placetheapplianceinawell-ventilatedhumidity-freeroom.
2. Donotobstructtherearfangrills.Thecompressorand
condensergiveoffheatandrequiregoodventilationto
operatecorrectlyandsaveenergy.
3. Leaveaspaceofatleast10cmbetweenthetoppartof
theapplianceandanyfurnitureaboveit,andatleast5cm
betweenthesidesandanyfurniture/sidewalls.
4. Ensuretheapplianceisawayfromanysourcesofheat
(directsunlight,electricstove,etc.).
5. Inordertomaintainthecorrectdistancebetweenthe
applianceandthewallbehindit,fitthespacerssuppliedin
theinstallationkit,followingtheinstructionsprovided.
Levelling
1. Installtheapplianceonalevelandrigidfloor.
2. Ifthefloorisnotperfectlyhorizontal,adjusttherefrigerator
bytighteningorlooseningthefrontfeet.
Electrical connections
Aftertheappliancehasbeentransported,carefullyplaceit
verticallyandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingittothe
electricitymains.Beforeinsertingtheplugintotheelectrical
socketensurethefollowing:
• Theapplianceisearthedandtheplugiscompliantwiththe
law.
• Thesocketcanwithstandthemaximumpowerofthe
appliance,whichisindicatedonthedataplatelocatedon
thebottomleftsideofthefridge(e.g.150W).
• Thevoltagemustbeintherangebetweenthevalues
indicatedonthedataplatelocatedonthebottomleftside
(e.g.220-240V).
• Thesocketiscompatiblewiththeplugoftheappliance.If
thesocketisincompatiblewiththeplug,askanauthorised
techniciantoreplaceit(see Assistance).Donotuse
extensioncordsormultiplesockets.
!Oncetheappliancehasbeeninstalled,thepowersupply
cableandtheelectricalsocketmustbeeasilyaccessible.
!Thecablemustnotbebentorcompressed.
!Thecablemustbecheckedregularlyandreplacedby
authorisedtechniciansonly(seeAssistance).

Start-up and use
Starting the appliance
!Aftertransportationoftheappliance,carefullyplaceitinan
uprightpositionandwaitatleast3hoursbeforeconnectingitto
theelectricitymains,tomakesureitoperatesasitshould.
• Cleantheinsideoftherefrigeratorwellusingwarmwater
andbicarbonateofsodabeforeplacingfoodinsideit.
• Theappliancecomeswithamotorprotectioncontrolsystem
whichmakesthecompressorstartapproximately8minutes
afterbeingswitchedon.Thecompressoralsostartseach
timethepowersupplyiscutoffwhethervoluntarilyor
involuntarily(blackout).
Refrigerator Compartment
Whentheapplianceisswitchedontherefrigeratorcompartment
issettoitsdefaultvalueof+5°C.Werecommendthatthe
SUPERCOOLfunctionissetinordertoacceleratethecooling
processofthecompartment.Afterafewhoursitwillbecool
enoughforfoodtobeplacedinside.
Navigating the display
Setting the temperatures:
Iftheproductisswitchedon,therefrigeratorcompartment
displaywillindicatethetemperaturevaluesetatthatmoment.
Tochangethem,simplypressthe-and+buttonsMore
specifically,eachtimethebuttonsarepressed,thetemperature
increasesordecreasesandthelevelofcoldgeneratedinside
thecompartmentisadjustedaccordingly.Thetemperature
valuesthatmaybeselectedfortherefrigeratorcompartment
are+8°C,+7°C,+6°C,+5°C,+4°C,+3°Cand+2°C,IfSUPER
COOLfunctionisactivated,Fridgetemperaturecannotbe
modified.
Using the refrigerator to its full potential
• Adjustthetemperatureusingthedisplay.
• ActivatetheSUPERCOOLfunctiontolowerthetemperature
quickly,forexample,whenyouplacealargenumberof
newfooditemsinsideafridgeandtheinternaltemperature
risesslightly.Thisfunctionquicklycoolsthegroceriesby
temporarilyreducingthetemperatureuntilitreachesthe
ideallevel.
• Placeonlycoldorlukewarmfoodsinthecompartment,never
hotfoods(seePrecautionsandtips).
• Rememberthatcookedfoodsdonotlastlongerthanraw
foods.
• Donotstoreliquidsinopencontainers:theywillincreasethe
levelofhumidityintherefrigeratorandcausecondensation
toform.
SHELVES:withorwithoutgrill.
Duetothespecialguidestheshelvesareremovableandthe
heightisadjustable,allowingeasystorageoflargecontainers
andfood.Heightcanbeadjustedwithoutcompleteremovalof
theshelf.
Static
ModelswithouttheAircoolerhavethecoolingsectionin
theinternalbackwallofthecompartments.Thewallwillbe
coveredinfrostorwaterdropletsdependingonwhetherthe
compressorisoperatingorpaused:bothcasesarenormal.Ifthe
TEMPERATUREADJUSTMENTknobhasbeensetonhighvalues
withlargequantitiesoffoodandwithahighambienttemperature,
theappliancecanoperatecontinuously,resultinginexcessive
frostformationandexcessiveenergyconsumption:compensate
forthisbyshiftingtheknobtowardslowervalues(defrostingwill
occurautomatically).
Instaticappliances,theaircirculatesinanaturalway:thecolder
airtendstomovedownwardsasitisheavier.Thefoodshould
