ForDC magnetic fieldmeasurements,the display willshoweitherthe N orSindicator. Forthe
North Pole, the N indicator will beshown. Similarly,for the South Pole, theS indicator will be
shown.ForACmagneticfieldmeasurements,thedisplaywill showtheACindicator(theN orS
indicatorswillnotthenbeshown).
Presstheprobeheadtothetestingmaterial(seeFig6).Thedisplaywillshowthemagneticfield
valuealongwiththeunitofmeasure(mT=MilliTeslaorG=Gauss)andAC,ifanACfield.
Note:
WhenthemeterispoweredON,thedisplaymayshowanonzerovalue(becauseof
environmentalinterference).BeforetakingameasurementpresstheZERObuttontonullthe
display.
DataHold
Duringmeasurements,presstheHOLDbuttonandthemeasuredvaluewillbeheld(theLCDwill
displayHOLD).PresstheHOLDbuttonagaintoexitthedataholdfunction.
DataRecording(M aximumandMinimumReading)
PresstheRECbuttontostartthedatarecordingfunction.TheLCDwilldisplayREC.PresstheREC
button again and RECMAXalong with themaximumreadingrecorded will appearonthe LCD.
PresstheRECbuttonagaintodisplaytheminimumvalue(theLCDwilldisplayRECMIN).Toexit
the data recording function, press and hold the REC button for two seconds. The meter will
returntothenormalmodeofoperation.
Note:WhenmakingDCmagneticfieldmeasurementswhiletheRECORDfunctionisactive,the
usercannotchangefromNorthtoSouthpoleorviceversa.


This meter is normally powered by one 9V battery; however an optional 9V power adaptor is
available.Whentheadaptorisused,themeterispermanentlypoweredandthepowerbuttonis
disabled.

FactoryDefaultReset
Ifthemeterbecomesinoperative,itcanberesettofactorydefaults.
Openthesidecompartmentand,withthemeteron,presstheresetswitch.
ThemeterwillberesetandtheUserSettingswillbeclearedandresettofactorydefaults.
BatteryReplacement
WhenthelowbatteryiconappearsontheLCD,thebatterymustbe replaced. Severalhours of
accurate readings are still possible in this condition; however batteries should be replaced as
soonaspossible:
RemovethePhillipsscrewfromthebatterycompartmentontherearofthemeter.
Remove
andsafelyplacethebatterycompartmentandscrewwheretheywillnotbe
damagedorlost.
Replacethe9Vbatteryobservingcorrectpolarity.
ReplacethebatterycompartmentcoverwiththePhillipsscrew.
Note:ThemetercanalsoobtainpowerfromtheDC9VPowerAdapter.Themeterwillbe
permanentlypoweredONwhentheadapterisused(thepowerbuttonisdisabled).
Neverdisposeofusedbatteriesorrechargeablebatteriesinhouseholdwaste.
As consumers, users arelegally required totakeused batteries toappropriate collection sites,
theretailstorewherethebatterieswerepurchased,orwhereverbatteriesaresold.
Disposal: Do not dispose of this instrument in household waste. The user
is obligated to take
endoflife devices toa designated collection pointfor the disposal ofelectrical and electronic
equipment
