S Insulate yourself from earth and the workpiece.
S Ensure your working stance is safe.
FUMES AND GASES -- Can be dangerous to health
S Keep your head out of the fumes.
S Use ventilation, extraction at the arc, or both, to keep fumes and gases from your breathing zone and
the general area.
ARC RAYS -- Can injure eyes and burn skin.
S Protect your eyes and body. Use the correct welding screen and filter lens and wear protective
clothing.
S Protect bystanders with suitable screens or curtains.
FIRE HAZARD
S Sparks (spatter) can cause fire. Make sure therefore that there are no inflammable materials nearby.
NOISE -- Excessive noise can damage hearing
S Protect your ears. Use ear defenders or other hearing protection.
S Warn bystanders of the risk.
MALFUNCTION -- Call for expert assistance in the event of malfunction.

3 INTRODUCTION
LAH 630 is designed for high productivity semi--automatic welding (MIG/MAG).
The power supply has a constant voltage characteristic and comprises a control unit
and water--cooled power unit.
The power source is equipped with an overload cut--out which is reset automatically
when the power unit cools down.
LAH 630 can be fitted with a voltmeter and ammeter.

4 INSTALLATION
WARNING
This product is intended for industrial use. In a domestic environment this
product may cause radio interference. It is the user’s responsibility to take
adequate precautions.
4.1 Mains connection
Check that the power source is configured for the available mains voltage be-
fore connecting to the mains.

Cable ratings comply with Swedish standards.
S Installation may only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
S Place the equipment in a suitable position and make sure the power source is
not covered or positioned so that cooling is restricted.
S Make sure the machine is configured for the correct voltage and that a fuse of
the correct rating is used. See connection instructions.
S Earth the equipment according to the relevant regulations.
S Connect the control cable between the power source and the wire feed unit.
S Connect the welding cable from the wire feed unit to the socket marked +.
Connect the return cable from the workpiece to either of the sockets marked --.
S Socket A is used for short arc welding (thin sheet or root beads, and
aluminium).
S Socket B is used for short arc welding, but gives a slightly hotter welding
cycle than socket A.
S Socket C is used for spray arc welding in thick plate.
S Connect the water cooling unit, if applicable.

5 OPERATION
Normally, the shielding gas used is CO2 , pure argon or a mixture of the two.
When welding steel, a gas mixture containing oxygen ensures better arc stability.
SPOT WELDING with steel wire (Autrod 12.51)
Spot welding times should be reduced if penetration is excessive, or increased if
penetration is poor.

6 MAINTENANCE
As necessary:
Blow the power source clean using dry compressed air at reduced pressure..
WARNING!
There is a risk of tipping if the wire feed cabinet is fitted with a counterbalance arm.
Secure the equipment, especially if used on an uneven or sloping surface.
Limit the angle of rotation of the wire feed cabinet using the straps supplied.
When moving the equipment do NOT pull on the torch.
7 ACCESSORIES
Volt--Ammeter,assembly. 319 429--882
The following remote control devices can be connected to the power source.
PHB 1 367 317--880
is equipped with a potentiometer with planetary gears, for accurate adjustment.
PHB 2 367 318--880
is equipped with one coarse and one fine adjustment potentiometer.
PAA 6 (long pulse unit) 367 318--880
permits remote control of current and voltage. Current and voltage can be pulsed
independently. Two current and voltage combinations of your own choice can be
preset and selected by means of a switch (2 positions).
PAB 6 367 308--880
Three current and voltage combinations of your own choice can be preset and se-
lected by means of a switch (3 positions).
PAC 8 367 305--880
permits remote control of current and voltage, allows higher current and voltage set-
tings on start--up (hot start). Slope--down function permits lower current and voltage
settings on finishing (crater filling).
8 ORDERING OF SPARE PARTS
