INSTALLATION

This OF-RC On/Off Remote Kit is designed to

be used on MV Cascade series VTD-18NV-

JHB, VTD-18PV-JHB, VTD-24NV-JHB, VTD-

24PV-JHB, VTD-30NV-JHB and VTD-30PV-

JHB. This can also be used on MV Cascade

series that has been converted to Hi-Lo knob

VTD-HLCN and VTD-HLCP.

Installation Items Needed

Before installing the kit, make sure you have

the items listed below.

• Phillips screwdriver

• Needle nose plier

• 5/16"socketoratheadscrewdriver

OF-RC Conversion Kit or Replacement

Instructions

1. Turn control knob to the OFF position,

and shut off gas supply to valve.

2. Remove 4 screws and face plate. See

Figure 1.

3. Disconnect manual switch terminals.

This switch will be replaced by OF-RC

remote kit. Discard disconnected switch

wires or position and secure to avoid

contacting with other connectors and

wires.

4. Install included 4 AA size 1.5V batteries

into receiver (see Figure 2).

5. Connect the "+" (positive) terminal of

receiver to TH terminal of gas valve and

the "-" (negative) terminal of receiver to

TPTH terminal of gas valve (see Figure

3).

6. Install included 12V battery into hand

held transmitter (see Figure 4).

7. Install receiver using included bracket

and screws (see Figure 5, page 3).

8. Install receiver cover plate by snapping

cover plate into receiver.

9. Mount cover plate to bracket using

screws and nuts provided with kit (see

Figure 5, page 3).

10. Reinstall faceplate and screws.

NOTICE: You must light the pi-

lot before using the hand held

remote control unit. Refer to

Lighting Instructions in your

appliance owner’s manual.

1. Afterlighting,letpilotameburnforabout

one minute. Turn control knob to the ON

position.Adjust ame adjustment knob

anywhere between HI and LO on models

with Hi/Lo knob conversion. Slide selector

switch to the REMOTE position.

Note: Burners may light if hand-held

remote ON button was on when selector

switch was last turned off. You can now

turn the burners on and off with the hand-

held remote control unit.

IMPORTANT: Do not leave the selector

switch in the REMOTE or ON position

when the pilot is not lit. This will drain

the battery.

2. On/Off Operation: Hold control button

on hand-held remote until burner turns

on. Hold control button again until burner

turns off (see Figure 6). When turning

burners off, the pilot will remain lit.
