Change and Deactivation of SKUs Notice: SKU and Status Changes to 3M™ D Sub
Plug, 8200 Series and 3M™ D Sub Socket, 8300 Series, Closed Cover Versions
To Our 3M Authorized Distributors,
As 3M transitions to our new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, it has become
necessary to make changes to the Closed Cover D-Sub Connectors SKUs. Additionally,
3M has made the decision to deactivate a number of related D Sub SKUs due to low
historical sales.
What is being changed?
1. The 3M SKUs associated with each of the following products will be changed.
The product will continue to be offered, but now with a new 3M SKU. See the
following table of the product affected by these SKU changes.
List of Products with New SKUs
The Open Covered D-Sub offering SKUs are not affected by this notification.
2. Due to low historical sales, the following SKUs have been deactivated.

Phase-in 3M SKUs
What actions and impact will this change have on purchase orders?
1. Existing orders will be fulfilled with the current 3M SKU, while any new orders
after September 1, 2018 will need to use the new 3M SKU.
2. Immediately upon this notification, no orders will be accepted for any of the
Deactivated SKUs.
If one of these Deactivated SKUs or any other D-Sub configuration is desired and is not
actively shown on 3M’s price pages, please contact your 3M representative to
determine if the specific configuration can be manufactured as a new business
opportunity.
Included in this notice is also a spreadsheet D-Sub Portfolio Offering Update.xlsx that
includes 3 tabs:
• All Active D-Sub SKUs – This Price Guide formatted worksheet includes all
active 3M SKUs.
• Closed Cover D-Sub SKU Changes – This worksheet includes all of the SKUs
migrating from the current SKU to the new SKU effective September 1, 2018.
• Deactivated D-Sub SKUs – This worksheet includes the SKUs that have been
immediately deactivated.
What do I need to do?
Please update your listing of active 3M products to include the new 3M SKUs and
remove all of the Deactivated SKUs.
Please act now to:
• Advise your sales and technical staff
• Update your website and systems as appropriate to include the new 3M SKU.
• Beginning September 1, 2018, all purchase orders will need to use the new 3M
Closed Cover D-Sub SKUs.
