Hydraulic connection
There must be at least one double action and one single
action hydraulic connection available on the tractor.
Connecting hydraulic system to the tractor
- Only connect hydraulic system to the tractor when
stopcock is closed (position A).

Connect the plug-in connection with the ”red” dust
cap to the single action control valve.

dust caps to the double action control valve.

Initial attachment to tractor
1. Attach shaft to tractor´s linkage drawbar.
Important!
-
The tractor linkage drawbar must be movable (A-B)
- Left and right lifting struts (4) must be of equal
length.
2. Secure fixing bolts using linch pin (V).
3.
Fix the hydraulic lower link (5) in such a way that
the machine cannot swing out sideways.
4. Raise jackstand (10) and secure with bolt.
5. Set tractor hydraulic at correct height (H).
Ensure sufficient distance to drive shaft (X)
particularly when travelling over humps.
6. Connecting hydraulic line to tractor.
- Stopcock closed (position A)
- Connect hydraulic line (60) to tractor.
7. Lowering implement
- Stopcock opened (position E)
- Engage servo-valve (ST).
Implement is lowered slowly to the ground.

Preparations for initial operation
Important!
1. The working position means that implement is lowered
and rotor tines are lightly touching the ground (A1)
2. The
distance (X)
between drive shaft and linkage
drawbar should be at
least 120 mm
when in working
position (standard). Take note of distance ”X”
particularly when travelling over humps.
3. The position of rotor tines should be roughly parallel
to the ground. A slight inclination forward is allowed.
4. Set distance (X1) using thresded spindle
For machines with the ”MULTITAST” system, set a
shaft swivel range here which enables rotor tines (A1)
to adapt well to gound in uneven areas.
- see chapter ”THE ”MULTITAST” SYSTEM” also.
Drive shaft
Before operation, check lengths of drive shafts and adapt
if necessary (see chapter "Adaption of Drive Shaft" in
supplement B also).

Always connect wide angle joint to

1. Attach machine to tractor and bring to working position

- turn threaded spindle until it stops
X1 = 190 mm
For machines with ”MULTITAST”
- turn threaded spindle to a distance of
X1 = 220 - 240 mm.
4. Swing lever (H) down (0°).
In this position the threaded spindle is secured against
turning.

Hydraulic hoses and electrical cables
Note:
Overlengthed hydraulic hoses and electrical cables
are fitted to the machine. This enables the machine to
be coupled to various tractors
Roll hydraulic lines and electrical cables together
appropriately and secure with cable binders
(K).
Rotating rotor must not damage hydraulic hoses
and electrical cables.
There must always be sufficient distance to the
rotating parts even when cornering.
Observe lengths "L1 and L2"!
Schrittfolgeventil einstellen
Das Schrittfolgeventil regelt die logische Reihenfolge, in der die Kreisel hydraulisch angehoben werden.
Einstellen der Schrittfolge erfolgt durch Verdrehen der Stellschraube Pos. 8 an der Gewindestange Pos. 3.
1. Allgemeine Sicherheitshinweise beachten.
2. Maschine an den Traktor aankoppeln.
3. Maschine in Arbeitsstellung bringen.
4. Kreisel anheben.
Kurz bevor der erste Kreisel (Fahrtrichtung!) vollständig angehoben ist, soll der zweite Kreisel angehoben werden.
5. Wird der zweite Kreisel zu früh angehoben, dann die Einstellung an der Gewindestange korrigieren.
6. Vorgang wiederholen bis die Einstellung stimmt.

LOWERING THE MACHINE
The machine can be lowered both from the working
position and from the transport position.
- Park machine stabily!
- Secure implement from rolling using wheel
chocks!
- Swing support stand down (5a) , secure
with locking pin (B)
- Pull off drive shaft and rest on support.
Do not rest drive shaft on safety chain!
- Close stopcock on every connector (pos. A) and then
disconnect hydraulic lines from tractor.
Important!
Park machine
stabily!
Should problems occur when disconnecting:
- Move servo-valve (ST) briefly to "lower" position (s).
Doing this will reduce any possible pressure remaining
in the connector and allows a trouble-free disconnection
of the hydraulic lines.
- Disconnect appliance from tractor.

Shorten total length
- Shorten total length (80 cm) by swinging the forward
rotor unit inward

Driving on public roads
Observe the official regulations of your country.
Travelling on open roads may only be carried out as
described in chapter "Transport position".
Swing machine to central position (M).
Close all hydraulic circuits (A).
Protection devices must be in proper
condition.
Before travelling bring all swivelling parts into their cor
-
rect positions and secure against dangerous changes
to position.
Check that lighting functions before travelling.
Important information can also be found in the supple

ment of this operating manual.
Hydraulic lower link
- Fix the hydraulic lower link (U) in such a way that the
machine cannot swing out sideways.
Turning on slopes
Take care!
The tractor's travelling characteristics are
influenced by the weight (G) of the rotor
unit. This can lead to dangerous situations,
especially on slopes.
Danger of tipping occurs
when the rotor units are in a raised position
when travelling in a curve with the rotor units raised
Safety advice
Reduce speed in curves accordingly.
It is better to travel in reverse on a slope than
to carry out a risky turning manoeuvre.

Two single swaths or one side
swath
1. Setting for two single swaths
A second trap sheet can be used in this operating position
(optional extra).
Swing the rear rotor to the correct position (R2).
2. Setting for a large side swath.
In this operating position only one large swath is formed
on the left side of the implement. The left rear rotor takes
on the swath already formed by the front rotor.
The second trap sheet (44a) can be used or it can be
removed.
Swing the rear rotor to the left operating position
(L2).
3. Setting for a small swath
In this operating position only one swath is formed on the
left side of the implement. The rear rotor therefore has no
essential function.
The second trap sheet (44a) can be used or it can be
removed.

1. Turn p.t.o. on.
Turn the p.t.o. on only when all safety devices (coverings,
protective aprons, casings, etc.) are in proper condition
and attached to the implement in the correct protective
positions.
2. Switch-on the machine only in working position
and do not exceed the prescribed power take-
off speed (for example max. 540 rpm).
A transfer, which is located near the gear, advises which
p.t.o. speed your machine is equipped for.
P.t.o. speed

P.t.o. speed max. = 540 rpm
The most favourable p.t.o. rpm is
about 450 rpm.
- Should the forage be pulled back from the swath into
the raked strips (untidy operation), then the p.t.o. rpm
is to be reduced.
Hydraulic control device (ST)
- Put hydraulic control device (ST) into "free gear" (floating
position or "lower").
General guidelines for working
with the machine
Caution!
Do not enter rotor area while driving motor
is running.
- Choose the speed of travel so that all crops are picked
up thoroughly.
- In cases of overloading, shift down one gear.
- In order to obtain tidy raking operation, the rotor must
be as horizontal as possible. A very slight inclination
forward is allowed.
- The tine height is adjusted using the crank handle (8).
Tines should lightly touch the ground. An adjustment
that is to deep will dirty the forage or damage the
turf.

- The tine height is set by inserting the linch pin in the
relevant position.

Swather with „MULTITAST“ system
General
Machines with the ”MULTITAST” system have feeler wheels installed. The rotor units are therefore not rigidly fixed, but
can be swung up and down (approx. 4°) through hinges.
Using the feeler wheel enables the tines to attain optimum ground adaption (4°) even on extremely uneven surfaces.
As the tines are located quite close to the feeler wheel they are able to follow the uneven ground optimumly. The result
is very tidy raking.

Converting to operation without feeler
wheel
1. Remove axle (Pos. 4b)
2. Remove 6 (M14 x 35) screws
3. Swivel the axle bearer around 180° to the rear (4a) and
refit
4. Refit the axle (pos. 4)
5. Aline both rotary units as parallel as possible on even
ground
6. Remove hydraulic cylinder (Hyd) and fit conversion kit
spindle (6)
- Adjust the spindle (6) so that the rotor tines are
positioned as parallel as possible to the ground
(A1).
7. Correctly set the distance (X1) using threaded spindle
- see chapter ”Attaching to the Tractor” also.
8. Remove (2) feeler wheel
Converting to operation with feeler
wheel
1. Only install feeler wheel (2) left (see accompanying
retrofit manual for feeler wheel 243,32,001,0)
2. Lower both rotary units onto even ground
3. Remove accompanying spindle (6)
4. Install hydraulic cylinder (Hyd)
5. Correctly set the distance (X1) using threaded
spindle
- see chapter ”Attaching to the Tractor” also.
Using the machine without the feeler wheel
Particular operating conditions require that the feeler
wheel (2) be removed.
When working without the feeler wheel (2) the turning
joint of the rotary unit must be fixed. Otherwise the
rotary unit will tip down and the tines will then dig into
the ground.
However ground adaption with a fixed turning joint is no
longer optimal. For this reason, this type of operation
should be avoided as often as possible.

Cleaning of machine parts
Attention!
Do not use high-pressure washers for the
cleaning of bearing- and hydraulic parts.
- Danger of rust!
- After cleaning, grease the machine according to the
lubrication chart and carry out a short test run.
- Cleaning with too high pressure may do damage to
varnish.
Safety point
Turn engine off when adjustment, service and repair
work is to be done.
Hydraulic unit
Caution! Danger of injury or infection!
Under high pressure, escaping fluids can penetrate
the skin. Therefore seek immediate medical help!
After the first 10 operating hours and then every
consecutive 50 operating hours
- Check the hydraulic unit and lines for tightness and
retighten screw connections if necessary.
Before operation
- Check hydraulic hoses for wear.
Replace worn or damaged hydraulic hoses immediately.
The replacement hoses must meet the manufacturer’s
technical requirements.
Hose lines are subject to natural ageing. The period of
use should not exceed 5 – 6 years.
Winter storage
- Thoroughly clean machine before storage.
- Put up protection against weather.
- Change or replenish gear oil.
- Protect exposed parts from rust.
- Lubricate all greasing points according to lubrication
chart.

General maintenance hints
In order to keep the implement in
good condition after long periods
of operation, please observe the
following points:
- Tighten all screws after the first
hours of operation.
In particular check:
- blade screws on the mowers
- tine screws on the swather and tedder.

original components and accessories
have
been designed especially for these machines and
appliances.
b. We want to make it quite clear that components and
accesories that have not been supplied by us have not
been tested by us.
c. The installation and/or use of such products can,
therefore, negatively change or influence the
construction characteristics of the appliance. We are not
liable for damages caused by the use of components
and accessories that have not been supplied by us.
d. Alterations and the use of auxiliary parts that are
not permitted by the manufacturer render all liability
invalid.
