TIPS & TRICKS FOR GARDEN SUCCESS
Endless Summer
®
hydrangeas are minimal-maintenance shrubs that bring color to your garden all
summer long. By using a few extra tips, you can set yourself up for truly spectacular blooms all summer
long, year after year.
SITE SELECTION:
Plant your hydrangeas where they
will receive morning sun and dappled
afternoon shade.
SOIL PREPARATION:
Hydrangeas prefer a nice loamy soil mixed
with organic matter.
FERTILIZING:
Use a slow release, high-phosphorus
fertilizer in spring. Be sure not to over-
fertilize throughout the season.
WATERING:
Moist soil will give you the best success.
Stick your finger in the dirt to be sure it’s
not too wet or too dry, but don’t
over-water.
PRUNING:
Cut off spent blooms throughout the
summer to encourage new flowers.
OVERWINTERING:
If you live in an area with cold winters
and you want to maximize flowering,
cover the shrubs with 12” of leaves
or mulch to ensure the best possible
bloom next season.
