1 Introduction
TheEFC301isastandaloneLinuxbasedIPaccesscontrolsystemcombinedwithacard
readerandadoorcontroller.YoucansimplyconnecttheEFC301controllertothedoor
usingaCat5cableandtopowerthroughthePoEport.BuiltinwithanRFIDmodule,the
EFC301controllercanmanagemorethan100,000cardsand1,000,000eventrecords,and
support2,048managementgroups.Theuserfriendlyelectronicmapmanagementfunction

Determinewhichhardwaretouseandwhereitwillbeinstalled.Thisisthemostcrucialstep
inthepreparationstage.First,determinehowmanyaccesspoints,ordoors,needtobe
managedbytheaccesscontrolsystem.Theseaccesspointswillcontrolthesecurityofthe
facility,andcanlimittheentryandexittoandfromanygivenareaofthebuilding.After
decidingwhichdoorsneedtobecontrolled,theusermustalsodeterminethelevelof
securityneededateachdoor.Therearemanywaystomanageeachdoor,usingdifferent
resources.Theseresourcesinclude,butarenotlimitedto:proximityreaders,magstrip
readers,relays,andrequesttoexits.Afewcommondoorconfigurationsaredescribed
below:
OneSetofEFC301TheBasicDoorEntryControl
ThemostbasicconfigurationinvolvesoneEFC301andanelectricstrike.Inthis
configuration,apersonpresentsacardtothereader,andiseithergrantedordenied
access.Theelectricstrikeunlocksifthesystemgrantsaccess.Anothervariationofthis
scenarioinvolvessettingthesystemuptomonitorwhetherthedoorisopen,which
allowsthesystemtoprotectagainstproppedopendoors,ordoorsbeingheldopenfor
toolong.

alsomastertheentryandexittimeofcardholders.
2.1.3 Determine the Number of Controllers According to System
Structure
Determinehowmanycontrollersandnetworkinterfacesarerequired.
EachsetofEFC301isprovidedwithabuiltincardreaderinthecontroller.Ifthesystem
requestsinstallationofmorethanonecardreader,thenumberofthecontrollerwillbe
increased.
2.2 Hardware Installation
Afterthepreparationworkisfinished,usercanstartinstallation.Thischaptermainly
introduceshowtoinstallthehardwarepart,whichisdividedintofoursteps:
1.Installingthecontroller.
2.Connectingtothedoorlock,statusswitchandopenbutton.
3.Connectingtothealarminput/output.
4.Connectingtothecomputerthroughthenetwork.
2.2.1 Installing the Controller
Thecontrollershouldbeinstalledinaneasilyaccessibleposition.However,itshouldbe
noticedthatthecontrolleristhecorepartoftheentiresystemandcanbeusedtochange
database.Aftertheinstallationsiteisselected,arelativesecurecleanpositioninwhichthe
administratoriseasytooperateshouldbeselected.Inordertofacilitatepowersupplyand
communication,apreparedwirechasemustbearrangedontheperipheryofthecontroller
beforeinstallingthecontroller.
Note:Ifthecontrollerisnotmatchedwiththescrewholeofthewirechase,please
adjustthepositionofthebottomcaseofthecontroller.
1.Beforeinstallation,pleaseconfirmthatthereisaplanewithenoughinstallationareaand
flatsurface,otherwise,itwillinfluenceontheestheticappearanceordamagethebottom
cover.
2.Confirmthattheconnectingwiresarewellandcorrectlyconnected.
