9. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched
particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where
they exit from the apparatus.
10. Only use attachments / accessories speci ed by the manufacturer.
11. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for
long periods of time.
12. Refer all servicing to quali ed service personnel. Servicing is
required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such
as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled
or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been

IMPORTANT NOTES
Avoid installing the unit in locations described below:
Places exposed to direct sunlight or close to heat radiating
appliances such as electric heaters.
Places subject to constant vibration.
Dusty, humid or moist places.
PROTECT YOUR FURNITURE!!
This model is equipped with non-skid rubber ‘feet’ to prevent the
product from moving when you operate the controls. These ‘feet’ are
made from non-migrating rubber material specially formulated to avoid
leaving any marks or stains on your furniture. However certain types
of oil based furniture polishes, wood preservatives, or cleaning sprays
may cause the rubber ‘feet’ to soften, and leave marks or a rubber
residue on the furniture. To prevent any damage to your furniture
we strongly recommend that you purchase small self-adhesive felt
pads, available at hardware stores and home improvement centers
everywhere, and apply these pads to the bottom of the rubber ‘feet’
before you place the product on ne wooden furniture.

PROJECTION UNIT
1. Twist the BALL counterclockwise until it loosens.
2. Pull the top half upwards.
POWER SOURCE
This unit is designed to operate on normal 240V~ 50Hz AC power only.
Do not attempt to operate the unit from any other power source. You
could cause damage to the unit.
BATTERY BACK – UP SYSTEM
This unit is also equipped with a battery back-up system for the clock
that is powered by 3 x CR2025 lithium batteries (not included).
The Battery Back-up System ensures the clock and alarm settings
will be retained during a power interruption or power outage (in order
to preserve the battery life the LCD Display will not light). All clock
settings will be kept in memory, however, the clock time may require
adjustment for exact accuracy once the power returns. If no backup
battery is installed, the Display will show “0:00” when the power is
restored. This will indicate that you have to reset the time and alarm
settings.

BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Unscrew and pull out the Battery Compartment Door on the bottom
of the unit.
2. Follow the polarity diagram shown on the Battery Compartment
Door, insert 3 pieces of CR2025 onto the Battery Compartment
Door.
3. Replace and screw the Battery Compartment Door.
IMPORTANT: Be sure that the batteries are installed correctly.
Wrong polarity may damage the unit.
BATTERY CARE
4. If the unit is not to be used for an extended period of time, remove
the batteries. Old or leaking batteries can cause damage to the
unit and will void the warranty.
5. Do not dispose of batteries in re, batteries may leak or explode.
Remarks:
In case of malfunction due to electrostatic discharge (ESD), press the
RESET Button (#17) with the tip of a ballpoint pen or similar objects to
reset and to resume normal operation.
GETTING STARTED
Press the RESET Button (#17) on the bottom of the
unit after the unit is plugged in. The Display (#11)
will show full segments for 2 seconds then return
to current time “0:00”.
Note: Press the RESET Button (#17) with the tip
of a ballpoint pen or similar objects.
Do not use an object with a breakable or sharp tip.

SETTING THE CALENDAR AND TIME
Note: The default display and settings are 0:00 , Monday, January 1,
2007.
The clock is adjusted in the following sequence:
Current time g Year g Month g Date g Hour Format Select g Hour
g Minute g Current time.
For example to set the calendar and date to AM 10:30, March 24,
2011.
1. In current time mode, press and hold the
MODE Button (#1) until YEAR 2007 appears
and ashes in the DISPLAY (#11).
2. While the Display ashes, press the Button (#8) repeatedly
until 2011 appears on the Display then press the MODE Button
(#1) once to con rm the YEAR setting. The DISPLAY will show the
MONTH and DATE with the MONTH digit ashing.
3. Press the or Buttons (#7 or #8) to
select the month and press the MODE Button
once to con rm when the correct month (3)
appears in the DISPLAY. The DATE digit will
now ash in the DISPLAY.

4. Press the or Buttons (#7 or #8) to select
the DATE and press the MODE Button (#1)
once to con rm when the correct DATE (24)
appears in the DISPLAY.
The clock is now in the HOUR setting mode.
Press the or Buttons (#7 or #8) to toggle
between 24 H or 12 H display formats. Press the MODE Button
(#1) to con rm the display format.
5. While the Hour digit ashes, press the or Buttons (#7 or #8)
to select the hour and press the MODE Button (#1) once to enter
when the correct hour (10) appears in the DISPLAY. The MINUTE
digit will ash to prompt for input.
Note: For 12 Hour format, there is a PM INDICATOR (PM) located in
the upper left-hand side of the DISPLAY. This indicator will light
when the time range falls within the “PM” range when setting
the clock. This indicator will be off when the time is in the ‘AM’
range. It is important that the “AM” or “PM” setting is correct for
proper operation of the Alarm function.

6. While the Minute digit ashes, press the or Buttons (#7 or
#8) to select the minutes. Press the MODE Button once to enter
when the correct Minutes (30) appears in the DISPLAY.
The current time is then displayed.
SETTING DST- Daylight Saving Time
In current time mode, press and hold the Button (#8) for 3 seconds
to toggle the DST function on and off.
VIEWING YEAR AND DATE
In current time mode press the Button (#8) once to check the Year
or press the Button (#7) to view the Month and Date.
FOCUSING THE PROJECTION CLOCK
1. Twist the Ball counterclockwise until it loosens.
2. Pull the top of the Ball
unwards to remove it.
3. Turn the projection on by
switching the PROJECTION
Switch (#24) to the “ON”
position.
4. Focusing: Adjust the
projected clock image by turning the Focus Adjustment Knob (#6)
until the projected time is clearly shown on the ceiling or wall.

5. Replace the top half of the ball and twist it clockwise to tighten.
6. To turn the projection off, set the Projection ON / OFF Switch (#24)
to “OFF”.
Note:
Project the time image on the ceiling or wall of a darkened room.
The maximum projection distance is 3 to 9 feet.
TURNING THE NIGHT LIGHT ON/OFF
Set the NIGHT LIGHT ON/OFF Switch (#25) to “ON” to turn the Night
Light on or “OFF” to turn the Night Light off.
TEMPERATURE DISPLAY
Press the C/F button to display the temperature in ºC/ºF.
LISTENING TO THE RADIO
1. Set the BAND SWITCH (#15) to AM or FM as desired.
2. Press the Button (#9) once to turn the unit on.
3. Rotate the TUNING CONTROL (#16) until you reach your desired
station and adjust the VOLUME Control until you reach a
comfortable listening level.
4. To turn the radio off, press the Button (#9) again.
TIPS FOR BEST RECEPTION
AM – The AM bar antenna is built inside the cabinet. If AM reception is
weak, change the position of cabinet until the internal antenna
picks up the strongest signal,
FM – During FM reception always keep the FM Wire Antenna
unwrapped and fully extended. If FM reception is weak, try
varying the position and direction of the FM Wire Antenna until
you nd the strongest signal.

AUX IN OPERATION
You can play other music sources (MP3 player or other digital audio
player) through the speaker of this player by connecting the LINE IN
Jack (#13) to your external player’s audio out jack or headphone jack.
1. Plug one end of an audio cable (not included) into the LINE
IN Jack (#13) on JCR-265 and the other end of the cable to the
headphone jack of your digital audio player.
2. Press the Button (#9) to turn on JCR-265.
3. Play your digital audio player.
4. Adjust the VOLUME Control on JCR-265 or the one on the external
audio player until you reach a comfortable listening level.
5. Unplug the audio cable from JCR-265 and the external audio
player when you have nished listening.
6. Press the Button (#9) to turn off JCR-265.
SETTING ALARM TIME
This unit allows you to set two different wake-up times, which you can
choose to use independently, or simultaneously ALARM 1 or ALARM 2
or ALARM 1 and ALARM 2.
SETTING ALARM1
1. In current time mode, press and hold the
AL.SET Button (#2) until the HOUR digit
appears and ashes in the DISPLAY (#11).

2. Press the or Buttons (#7 or #8) to select the Hour and
press the AL.SET Button (#2) to con rm when the correct hour (7)
appears in the DISPLAY. The Minute digit will ash in the DISPLAY.
Note: For 12 Hour format, there is a PM INDICATOR (PM) located in
the upper left-hand side of the DISPLAY. This indicator will
light when the time range falls within the “PM” range when
setting the Alarm time. This indicator will be off when the alarm

3. Press the or Buttons (#7 or #8) to select the Minute and
press the AL.SET Button (#2) to con rm the selection
when the correct minute (15) appears in the DISPLAY.
The weekday appears and ashes in the DISPLAY.
4. Press the or Buttons (#7 or #8) to toggle among Monday
to Friday, Monday to Saturday or Monday to Sunday for the desired
weekday alarm.

5. Press the AL. SET Button (#2) to con rm the desired weekday
alarm. The Clock is now in the ALARM 2 setting mode.
6. Repeat step 2 to 5 above to complete ALARM 2 setting.
ALARM OPERATION
WAKE TO RADIO BY ALARM1 or ALARM 2
1. Follow steps 1 to 3 in “LISTENING TO THE RADIO” to select the
band, your desired radio station and the volume level you want to
listen when the alarm comes “ON”.
2. Set the alarm time according to the procedure described above.
3. Press the Button (1) or Button (2) twice to select
“Wake to RADIO”. 1 or 2 will light up depending which alarm
is chosen.
4. Press the Button (9) to turn the radio off.
5. The radio will turn on at the preset “Alarm Time” and play for about
30 minutes before turning off automatically.
6. If you want to turn the radio off, press the Button (9). The radio
will turn on again automatically at the preset alarm time (s) on the
following days.
7. If you do not want the alarm to turn the RADIO on the following
day, press Button (1) or Button (2) again. 1 or
2 will disappear in the DISPLAY.
WAKE TO ALARM BY ALARM1 or ALARM 2
1. Set the alarm time according to the procedure described above.
2. Press Button (1) or Button (2) once to select
“Wake to ALARM” 1 or 2 will light up depending which alarm
is chosen.

The alarm will beep at the preset “Alarm Time” and play for about
30 minutes before turning off automatically.
3. If you want to turn the BEEPING off, press the BUTTON (9)
once. The ALARM will turn on again automatically at the preset
alarm time(s) on the following days.
4. If you do not want the alarm to turn the BEEPING on the following
day, press Button (1) or Button (2) twice. 1 or
2 will disappear in the DISPLAY.
Note: The BEEPING volume is xed and cannot be adjusted by the
VOLUME CONTROL.
SNOOZE OPERATION
1. When the alarm sounds (BEEPING or RADIO), you can press the
SNOOZE BUTTON (10) to extend the alarm time by 9 minutes.
The BEEP or RADIO will then turn on again.
2. This is repeated until the Button (9) is pressed.
SHUTTING OFF THE ALARM FUNCTION
Press the Button (1) or Button (2) repeatedly until no
ALARM icon is shown in the DISPLAY.
SLEEP TIMER OPERATION
SLEEP TO MUSIC
You can use the sleep timer to turn the radio off automatically after
the set timer time has elapsed. To set the sleep timer, proceed as
following:
1. Turn on the unit and tune to your favorite radio station.
2. Press the SNOOZE / SLEEP Button (#10),
The DISPLAY shows 90 minutes of playing
time momentarily and then returns to the
current time. The unit will automatically
turn off after 90 minutes.

ADJUSTING THE SLEEP PERIOD
1. With the unit In POWER ON mode, press the SLEEP Button (14)
repeatedly to select the amount of sleep time as follows:
2. The unit will automatically turn off after the preset sleep time has
elapsed. However, if you want to turn the radio off before the preset
sleep time has elapsed, press the Button to switch the power off.
SLEEP AND WAKE TO MUSIC
1. Follow steps 1 to 3 in “WAKE TO RADIO BY ALARM 1 OR ALARM
2” to set for “Wake to RADIO” mode.
2. Follow steps 1 & 2 in “SLEEP TO MUSIC” & “ADJUSTING SLEEP
TIME” to set the desired sleep time.
3. The unit is now programmed to turn off automatically at the Sleep
Time you selected and then to turn on again at the preset wake up
time.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Avoid operating your unit under direct sunlight or in hot, humid or
dusty places.
2. Keep your unit away from heating appliances and sources of
electrical noise such as uorescent lamps or motors.
3. For better Clock Display clarity, avoid operating the unit under
direct sunlight or in strong room illumination.
4. Unplug the unit from the electrical power outlet immediately in case
of malfunction.

CLEANING THE UNIT
Always disconnect your unit from the AC power source before
cleaning.
• The nish on the unit may be cleaned with a dust cloth and cared
for as other furniture, Use caution when cleaning and wiping the
plastic parts.
If the cabinet becomes dusty wipe it with a soft dry dust cloth. Do
not use any wax or polish sprays on the cabinet.
If the front panel becomes dirty or smudged with ngerprints it
may be cleaned with a soft cloth slightly dampened with a mild
soap and water solution. Never use abrasive cloths or polishes as
these will damage the nish of your unit.
CAUTION:
Never allow any water or other liquids to get inside the unit while
cleaning.
SERVICE
All necessary care is taken at the point of manufacture to ensure this
unit will perform to Jensen’s high quality standards. However if this
unit becomes faulty within the warranty period please return it to the
point of purchase with your proof of purchase for a replacement.
