STAGE 16: THE NUMBER PLATE
STEP 1 Prepare
the sissy bar (Parts
15) and Parts 16.
STEP2

STEP 2 Pass the connector end of the cable through
the sissy bar, then place the number plate mount up
against the cross strut.
STEP 3 Align the holes in the number plate mount
with those in the cross strut of the sissy bar.
STEP 4 Tighten one of the screws into one of the
aligned holes.

In this stage, you will t the number plate to the sissy bar.

STEP 5 Tighten the second screw into the second
hole to secure the mount to the sissy bar.
STEP 6 Take the number plate and make sure you
have the orientation correct.

STEP 7 Align the pins on the reverse of the number
plate with the corresponding holes in the mount.
STEP 8 Press the number plate into place.

STEP 1 Prepare both body frame halves from Parts
17 and 20, as well as the screws.
STEP 2 Bring both frame halves together.

recess in the front of the left half.
STEP 4 Press the front of the right half into the
recess in the left, and squeeze the tops of the
frames together.

at the front of the frames.

STAGE 18: THE CLUTCH LINKAGE
STEP 1 Prepare the items shown above, from Parts 18. Label the parts
you don’t need this time, and keep them safely to one side.
STEP 3 Insert the end of the bolt
into the hole in the clutch linkage,
as shown.
STEP 4 Tighten the second nut
onto the bolt.

nuts onto the bolt with the eye at
one end.
STEP 5 Here is how the bolt
should look with both nuts in
position.

In this stage, you will begin assembling the clutch linkage.

centre of the clutch linkage plate
into the hole in the centre of the
clutch linkage.
STEP 9 Pass the bolt through
the aligned holes of the rod
and the linkage.
STEP 7 Tighten the washer screw
into the hole in the linkage, to
secure the two parts together.
STEP 10 Tighten a nut onto the
other end of the bolt, to secure the
rod in place.

linkage rod over the hole in the
linkage plate, as shown.

spring through the eyebolt, and
the other end around the post
on the plate.

19. Label the parts you don’t need this time, and
keep them safely to one side.
STEP 2 Place the pedal rubber onto the
gearshift pedal.

with the hole in the gearshift pedal plate (see the
following step).

linkage arm onto the pedal post.
The two parts are shaped to t

linkage arm.

with a washer screw.

aligned holes of the arm and
the linkage.

end of the bolt.

STAGE 20: THE FOOTBRAKE
In this stage, you will begin to assemble the footbrake.
STEP 1 Prepare the parts shown above, from Parts
21. Keep any unneeded parts labelled to one side
for future use.
STEP 2 Place the bracket onto the linkage, where
the two pins are located.

STEP 3 Pass a bolt through the holes in the brackets,
between the two pins.
STEP 4 Tighten a nut onto the end of the bolt.

STEP 5 Pace the linkage over the
hole at the end of the footbrake
pedal. Make sure that you have
the bracket positioned correctly,
as shown. Align the holes in the
linkage and pedal.
STEP 8 Place the hole at the end
of the footbrake pedal over the
post of the footbrake plate.
STEP 6 Pass a bolt through the
aligned holes of the linkage and
the pedal.
STEP 9 Insert the short wide bolt
into the end of the plate post.

end of the bolt.
STEP 10 Use the cross wrench to
tighten the bolt into place.

STAGE 21: THE BRAKE PIVOT

STEP 3 Insert the pin through the hole until it stops.
STEP 1 Prepare the brake pivot and pin from
Parts 21.
STEP 4 Here is how the pin should look when
inserted correctly, with the hole visible on the
other side of the pivot.
STEP 2 Align the end of the pin with the hole in it
with the hole in the body of the brake pivot.
