You have opted for the purchase of a Porsche
Rear Seat Entertainment (PRSE) system.
Congratulations and many thanks for the trust
you have placed in Porsche.
Your PRSE consists of two screen consoles with
integrated CD/DVD players, behind the driver's
and passenger's seats respectively.
Bluetooth headphones are available for each
console in order to transmit audio.
These enable the rear passengers to watch,
for example, a DVD movie or to access other
multimedia sources, without the driver being
distracted from the traffic owing to intrusive
noises.
Please make yourself familiar with the PRSE
before use. Read the information in these
operating instructions for this purpose.
We hope you enjoy your PRSE and wish you
many hours of entertainment.

Please read these operating instructions carefully
in order to make optimum use of your PRSE. We
recommend that you keep the operating instruc-
tions in the vehicle. This will make it easier to find
any information you may require.
Should you not find an answer to your questions in
these operating instructions or in the Help menu
integrated in the PRSE, your Porsche Partner will
be pleased to provide assistance.
Porsche recommends that you only use acces-
sories which have been tested and approved by
Porsche with regard to their safety, functionality
and durability.
The PRSE functions described in these operating
instructions can be executed either by means of
the available buttons or using the controller via the
touchscreen.
It is forbidden to make illegal copies of films or
music, or to download illicit content.

Important information on
operation and traffic safety
Making settings to and operating the Porsche
Rear Seat Entertainment during driving can
distract you from the traffic. You may lose control
of the vehicle.
f The PRSE may only be operated by
passengers sitting in the rear of the vehicles
during driving.
Unqualified tampering with the electronics and the
associated software may lead to malfunctions.
Malfunctions to the electronics may impair the
operational safety of the vehicle, possibly
endangering the passengers.
f Do not tamper with the electronics or the
associated software of the PRSE. Unqualified
tampering with the electronics and the relevant
software may lead to malfunctions.
f Have faults remedied immediately.
Contact a qualified specialist workshop.
We recommend a Porsche partner for this
work as they have trained workshop personnel
and the necessary parts and tools.
Risk of damage to external devices connected to
the inputs of the PRSE. These devices have not
been tested for compatibility with the vehicle
electrical systems of the vehicle by Porsche.
There is therefore a risk of interference from such
devices.
Porsche will not assume any liability for damage
caused by third party devices.
f Do not connect any external devices to the
inputs of the PRSE.
General information
Ensure that your PRSE and the headphones do not
come into contact with water or other fluids.
In the event of extreme temperature fluctuations,
condensation may form. In this case, leave the
PRSE switched on after removing a CD/DVD to
allow the condensation to evaporate inside the
device.
Never insert foreign objects into the CD/DVD slot.
Only insert intact and undamaged CDs/DVDs into
the device.
Poor road conditions and vibration may cause
interruptions during the playback of files.
Power supply
The PRSE is supplied with power via the vehicle
battery. The power remains connected even when
the engine is switched off and the vehicle is
locked. The vehicle energy management system
determines when the PRSE is switched off
automatically after the engine is stopped,
depending on the battery charge.
This delay may be up to 30 minutes.
Notes on USB
No USB devices which require the installation of
special drivers may be connected to the USB port
of the PRSE.
The use of USB hubs is not permitted.
Owing to the rapid development of USB media,
compatibility with storage devices and MP3
players cannot be guaranteed.
It may not be possible to operate USB devices
with high power requirements (e.g. external hard
drives) via the USB port.
f Do not leave USB devices in the vehicle for
extended periods because extreme ambient
conditions (temperature fluctuations, humidity)
can occur.

System description
The PRSE includes two consoles, which are
mounted on the back of the front seats.

ON
f Press the button (8) for a maximum of
one second.
OFF
f Press the button (8) for at least
two seconds.
Information
If no actions are performed on the PRS,
the system switches off automatically after
10 minutes. This is indicated by a message
and can be interrupted by the user.
Main menu
f Press the button (7) briefly.
Touchscreen
Operation of the PRSE is via the touchscreen (2).
Risk of damage to the screen.
f Do not press on the screen with sharp objects.
f Activate the desired function with
your fingertip.
Opening a menu
The functionalities of the PRSE are divided into
six menus: Music , Video , Picture ,
Apps , Internet and Settings .
f In order to open a menu, select it via the
touchscreen.
Exiting a menu
f Select .
The operation is ended and the superordinate
menu is displayed.
Controller
f Tap the touchscreen surface.
The controller is activated during playback of
a medium.
As soon as the controller is activated, it appears
on the screen in accordance with the selected
source and type of playback (e.g. music, video,
images).
Manual
The digital operating instructions for your PRSE
are available in some menus.
f Select Help in the menu bar.

CD/DVD operation
Inserting a CD/DVD
f Insert the CD/DVD card into the slot (6) with
the label side facing the user.
Ejecting a CD/DVD
f Select .
f Select Eject disc .
f Remove the CD/DVD after the ejection
procedure is completed.
Information
If the CD/DVD is not removed, it is reinserted
automatically after a short time.
Source selection
The content to be played back can be selected
from various sources in the Music , Video
and Picture menus.
Source display
The currently active source is shown at the top
left of the display.

TV
The PRSE enables a TV video signal to be played
via the TV tuner installed in the vehicle. If your
vehicle does not feature a TV tuner, TV will not be
selectable as a source.
Information
Operation of the optional TV tuner is only possible
via the PCM.
Crosslink
The PRSE enables current playback on the other
console so that audio and video sources can be
played back simultaneously on both consoles.
If a video is played back on one of the consoles,
Crosslink makes it possible to also play back the
video on the second console.

Playing a video

Progress display
The progress bar on the controller indicates the
progress of playback. The elapsed playback time
is indicated on the left and the total playback time

in order to resume/pause playback.
Aspect ratio

Displaying pictures
f Open the main menu.
f Select Picture .
If there are pictures on the active source,
these are displayed.
f Select the desired picture.
The picture is displayed in full-screen mode.
Jumping forward/back
f Press the button to jump back to
the previous picture.
f Press the button to jump forward to
the next picture.
Rotating
f Select on the controller.
The displayed picture is rotated in the direction
of the arrow.
Aspect ratio
f Press the button.
The aspect ratio is changed.
Slideshow
f Press the button.
The slideshow is started.
List
f Press the button.
A list of all the available files for the selected
source is displayed.
Search
f Open the main menu.
f Select Picture .
f Select .
f Enter the search term using the displayed
keyboard.
Headphones
Switching on
f Press and hold the button on the right earpiece
for approx. two seconds until the LED flashes.
Switching off
f Press and hold the button on the right earpiece
until the LED stops flashing.
Low battery level
When the battery level is low, the LED on
the headphones flashes red.
f Charge the batteries via the mini USB port.
Automatic switch-off
The headphones switch off automatically after
approx. five minutes if no signal is received
from the PRSE console or if the headphones
are outside the reception area.

f In order to reduce energy consumption,
always switch off the headphones when
they are not in use.
Pairing headphones with the PRSE
Information
Pairing the headphones with the PRSE is only
necessary if the connection has been deleted or
if additional headphones are being registered.
f Press and hold the button on the right earpiece
for five seconds until the LED flashes rapidly.
f Select Settings in the PRSE menu.
f Select Network .
f Select Bluetooth.
f Activate Bluetooth.
f In order to register the desired headphones,
select them from the list of found devices.
f Confirm the pairing dialog.
Information
– Following successful pairing, the LED on the
headphones flashes slowly.
– Following successful pairing, the headphones
will connect automatically from the next time
the device is switched on.
f If no connection could be established with the
headphones, switch the headphones off and
back on again.

The Reset options allows you to reset the PRSE

space occupied via the various applications on the
PRSE console.
Changing language
In the Change language menu, you can adapt
the language of the PRSE.
Brightness
In the Brightness menu, you can adapt the
brightness of the PRSE.
