Press and hold for a few
seconds.
set up & go
Set up the important features on your phone when
you turn it on for the first time, with the
easy-to-follow setup wizard.
Setup options:
Basic Setup: Set the date and time options, your
personal profile, and more.
Pedometer: The pedometer counts your steps.
But you’ll need to enter your stride length
first.
Gestures: Set up to control your phone using
simple action gestures (see page 12).

To answer a call when your phone rings and/or
vibrates, press .
To choose Hold, Mute, Speaker, or other options during a
call, press Options, see page 17.

Press the volume keys on the side of the phone, to
change the volume during a call, or while a song is
playing.

1 Enter a phone number in the home screen.
2 Press Options > Save >To new contact or To an existing contact.
3 Enter the contact details and press Save.

1 Press ® > Contacts.
2 Highlight a contact.
Tip:
To jump to a contact, enter the first few
letters of the name.
3 To call, press .
To send a text message, press Options
> Send Message.
transfer your contacts
To transfer your contacts from your old phone to
your new phone, simply save all your contacts to
your SIM card on your old phone. When you put
the SIM card into your new phone, the contacts
appear in your contacts list.
Note:
SIM contacts only let you store basic
information, such as name and number. Other
details may be lost, and multiple numbers may be
stored as multiple contacts.

Warning:
Keep a tight grip of your phone when
using gesture controls — be careful not to let go of
your phone and cause damage.
Note:
Gesture control is not available when the
pedometer or personal trainer is in use. You can
press
® > Active > Settings to turn gesture
controls on or off.
A few ways to get the best out of your phone:
shake twice
Shake the phone twice to access
your favorite action.
To set up your favorite action,
press Shake Twice > Customize > Shuffle and
play music, Contacts, or Bluetooth headset.
Note:
For this feature to work,
your keypad must not be locked.

Tap the screen twice to turn on the
backlight.

Set the alarm to Snooze

A sound plays if you drop your
phone (but, try not to drop it!).
Note:

1 From the home screen, press and scroll
through the tabs to see a list of recently dialed
calls.
2 Scroll to the entry you want to call and press
.
caller ID
Caller ID shows the caller’s name when
they’re stored in your contacts, or Incoming Call
when caller ID information isn’t available.
To show or hide your phone number for calls you
make, press
® > Settings > Call Setup > Hide ID.

emergency calls
To call an emergency number,
enter the emergency number
and press .
Your service provider programs
emergency phone numbers, (such as 999, 112 or
911), that you can call under any circumstances,
even when your phone is locked.
Emergency numbers vary by country. Your phone’s
pre-programmed emergency number(s) may not
work in all locations, and sometimes an emergency
call cannot be placed due to network,
environmental, or interference issues.
go handsfree
To turn the speaker on or off during a call, press
Options > Speaker.
You can also use an optional micro USB or
Bluetooth headset to go handsfree. See page 52
for more on Bluetooth.

To use speed dial entries, press and hold the
single-digit speed dial number. Your phone will dial
the number.
To assign, or edit, a speed dial, press
® > Settings > Shortcuts > Speed Dial, highlight the
speed dial key, then press Change and pick a contact.

During a voice call you can access the in-call menu
by pressing Options:
Speaker - turn speakerphone on or off.
Mute - switch your microphone on/off.
Hold or Resume - hold the call or return to a held
call.
Video call - switch to video call.
Add to contacts - add callers details to contacts.
Main menu - access the main menu.
DTMF - switch DTMF on or off.

During a video call you can access the in-call menu
by pressing Options:
Mute video - turn off/on the outgoing video.
Mute sound - silence your microphone.
Pause outg.- pause the outgoing video.
Pause inc. - pause the incoming video.
Switch camera - switch between the secondary
camera lens (on the front) and the primary
camera lens (on the back).
Full/Split screen - set the screen mode.
Frame rate

set the video frame rate.
White balance

set the white balance of the
video.
Flicker adjustment
-
set the frequency of the video.
Send picture - send a picture while you are on the
call.
Send video - send a video while you are on the
call.
